Dave, I have no idea what caused that big blank space on my post. 40 degees, I would be wearing long johns and a parka. It was another beautiful lazy day today. I sat out side for 1/2 hour and it felt good.
K2, I have 3 pair of shoes that I rotate during the week. I bought them becasuse of the nerves in th e bottom of my feet were tangled ans maybe different shoes would help but it didnt. Now I put voltarium???? on the bottom of my foot and that pretty much takes care of the pain. So sorry to read about the shooting. I don't know what can be done about the useless killing.
Princess Ava of Amherstburg, I think I know who rules this household. I like the name. You should have a little house or yard sign Lee. I have used a router and printed out a sign for a friend and my daughter about their pets. I would buy a cedar fence board for it.

MIKE: I love your CARTOON! :clap002: :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Lee: I envy you being able to see the freighters slide through the water!

I went for my 2nd bike ride tonight. It was longer than yesterday's 2 miles.
Tonight, it was 3 miles. There's a new road the county put in about 1 mile from our house. I get to it by biking through our subdivision and then 2 other subs. It's still not totally completed. It's waiting for LINES to be put on and the other extension past 24 Mile to get finished. Anyways, useless information for you folks.
The nice things is that bikers and walkers have the entire road safely to themselves until the final work is completed. Nice new smooth Asphalt is so neat to bike on. I think there were about 5 other people biking up and down the road.
Then I biked to the 7/11 Store and found a PENNY in the parking lot. Somebody from heaven dropped it for me to find! I use to bike through that 7/11 gas station a lot and find change that must have fallen out of peoples pockets or hands. I had a pouch on my handlebars that I kept the money in. It's in the garage someplace!

It was a perfect temp for a bike ride. Lots of folks out walking their dogs.

Hope you ALL have a good Thursday!

"He is not doing well at all. He wants no more procedures. Will keep you posted if anything changes."

This just isn't right at all. Bill was doing so good after that hip surgery and then the UTI drove him into the hospital. 'Pneumonia' in an older person is horrible.
Prayers Bill gets through this.

Just hoping for a good outcome for Bill.

The high volume of shootings seem to be exclusively an American thing. People and their damn guns. The National Rifle Association and the gun manufacturers only exasperate putting them in so many stupid people's hands. It all makes us just want to scream.

I agree, that was one cool picture of the guy digging a hole, Mike.

Done digging, KC?

How neat K2 that you got to bike on a newly paved road that wasn't open to cars just yet. As a kid, I remember a new freeway being built alongside Massillon. People would bring their kids to it, before it opened, to roller-skate and ride their bikes on.

You're lucky Lee being able to see the big freighters going up and down the river. The only ones we see around here are the "wide loads" going into Walmart. :)

So many companies want to change or modify the flavor of so many foods. Saw an advertisement yesterday for a cinnamon flavored bacon. NOO! Bacon should just taste like bacon.

Last weekend they had a marathon of showing all the shows made of "Yellowstone". That was a good show, so I set the boob-tube to record all of them. Now we are binge-watching are way through the 47 different episodes. (This could take a while.)

Of course my thoughts and prayers are with Bill and Rita.
It was 61F when we headed out this morning. 10 degrees warmer than Tuesday morning. We may see showers later on today.
I can’t tell if that fella’s hole is a whole hole or half a hole Mike. Either way the cartoon made me smile. Actually, Lu-Ann rules the house. Ava is a close second.
If it was like here Kathie you had a perfect evening and surface for a bike ride.
Another memory for us all from “back in the day” Dave. Now that new build freeway would be fenced, blocked, posted and patrolled to keep people off in the name of safety. Um, I mean construction company liability. I shouldn’t have but I chuckled at your Walmart crack. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: We’ve never seen Yellowstone.
Do you just dig a hole for the mailbox post Karen or is it set in concrete too? We were starting to see more steel posts being set and then plastic boxes and housings set on top of the post.
Back to The Doc today at 1:00 for a follow up on the spot she hit with the nitro two weeks ago. Tomorrow morning I go for my annual ECG and get my Holter Monitor to wear for a fun filled 72 hours!
Have a great day gang.

Prayers for Bill & Rita, I'm starting to worry if this hospital stay didn't turn up other problems he might not have known about.

Mike, cute cartoon, I did manage to stop digging long before that guy did.

Kathie, sounds like a nice bike ride and coming home 01 cent richer is always a bonus. Poor Artie, I'm lucky my dermatologist just takes the cutting & sends it to the lab and has me come back if they didn't get it all, but then I've never had one on my scalp so maybe thats the difference

Dave, I've never watched Yellowstone either, let me know what you think of it. The few previews I've seen did look like it might be interesting.

Lee, this time I set the post in concrete, I am using a 2" pvc pipe as the post so it won't rot, I spray painted it black to match the mailbox and it turned out pretty neat looking. Next time I will have to break down & buy a bigger pipe though, the 2" just isn't as stable as I would like even set in cement.

Getting ready to head out in a few minutes to go join the gym that is right down the road. I have the Silver Sneakers pass & can join for free, been going to do it for a couple years now & keep putting it off. Since it's way to hot to try & walk here in the summer I decided the gym would be a good idea instead. Trying to keep my bones as strong & healthy as I can
Enjoy your Thursday all, I keep getting confused on what day it is after the holiday

Hmmm. That's a very good thought Karen. Something that I hadn't thought about. :(
Enjoy your gym! Do you have to have "Silver Sneakers" or will any good exercise shoe colour do? Yes, I am being silly. It's a good thing it's not called a "Q-Tip Pass". I can't recall which one of our Momma Bunnies hated that expression.
Our swim and gym membership starts up again n September 28 when the pool reopens. Because Amherstburg's only pool is in a gym and requires an overpriced gym membership - previous administration small town politics, don't ask - we can go to LaSalle, the next town up the road, and join their rec facility for half price. We pay the full price and Amherstburg refunds half. Again, don't ask.

Hi Wrabbits! Another nice day over here. Starts out CHILLY and works into a perfect Sept day.

Karen posted:

That's exactly what they do for Art when they see something that they want tested. They send it away. Well, after the results come back POSITIVE they call Art and then do these "digs" in the office and keep doing them until they see "Clean Edges". He had 3 "digs" yesterday in that area. The problem is that the doctor is still seeing other patients and the in-house lab takes a little time to process the in-house digs! Meanwhile, you are shuffled from one room to another until the doctor can see you. Since Art had so many 'digs' yesterday it took up a lot of time. I'm thinking that some of that time could be eliminated if they set aside a 1/2 a day or whole day just for that kind of surgical procedure. And I must ask one day WHY the first specimen is sent out of office and takes 2 weeks to get the results back when they have a In-House Lab that checks all the 'digs' he had done yesterday????

We have free membership to Silver Sneakers and it's at Life Time Gym. They have 2 or 3 of them around our area that are close. I went to one some years ago. I just need to get committed to a regular day and time and just go no matter what is going on. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Continued post:

Rick was transferred to the original hospital close to our area and they are going to put in a FEEDING TUBE in his stomach. Can't do it down his nose because the surgery was done from the front of his neck. He is not swallowing and losing too much weight with just IV feedings.

The strange thing that Art brought up was that directly in the next huge bldg is the largest hospital in Detroit. Detroit Medical Center. Why they couldn't just take him one bldg over and do the procedure is strange.
I told Art it might be because his doctor is not affiliated with that hospital. Anyways, once he gets that procedure done, they will transfer him BACK to the Rehab Hospital downtown. What a mess for this poor guy.

Enjoy every moment of every day is all I can say.

Later gang. I need a coffee.

RED TAPE AND BUREAUCRACY Kathie. I think that pretty much covers most of things we mere mortals can’t figure out. We have similar stuff here if a doctor doesn’t have “hospital privileges“ at one location or another. The last thing Rick needs is to be shuttled from facility to facility. And joining you for a coffee was a delight!
We’re expecting rain in the next hour or so. No evening walk if that holds true…
Be well everyone.

Lee: FANTASTIC pictures. No storms here just yet. Maybe in the early morning when DAVE does his bathroom walk! Ha Ha. Sorry DAVE, I just couldn't help myself.

I had a long stressful day today!

Did some errands early in the afternoon.
Checked my cell phone (which I don't do often enough) and Rick's daughter was asking for a ride to see her Dad at the hospital close to us.

OKAY.... what time? Well, she wanted to be there at 3:30 pm. A tad before RUSH HOUR starts in our area. We have a Small Freeway that has one side totally closed and the traffic is horrible on the surface roads. But hey, we're willing to help the girl out. She has difficulties from her accident. Long story!

Made it to the hospital. Got up to the room to see Rick.
Rick was waiting for the Feeding Tube to be put in.
Not sure if he's going back downtown. The place doesn't give the service the suburb hospitals do. Another long story. I have to hope he DOES NOT GO BACK there. I read the REVIEWS and some were good and some were NOT.
Lord help this man. He lost another 15 pounds. They can weigh him while he lies in the bed. Amazing technology.

Coming home was like driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic everywhere. I was doing the driving and choose NOT to use the freeway that was something out of Los Angles, CA.

Got the gal home and settled and we found an absolutely yummy Mexican place to eat. The food was better than Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Thank goodness.

I'm about to pay some bills that came in the mail today and transfer money to pay our TAXES at the Township offices on Friday. LIFE is crazy... but still good.

Take care you all and sorry for the DUMP POST, but I know you guys are good listeners. :emoticon 0115 inlove:

I did DE-STRESS with yet another bike ride tonight!

Very pretty pictures Lee. Thank you.

Keep us up to date if you hear anything new about Bill, K2. Sometimes these hospitals are like little kingdoms where they have their own little rules and regulations. Some of which don't make any sense.

KC; I can't say that I've ever seen a mailbox post made out of PVC pipe. That TV show "Yellowstone", we find is real interesting. A modern day cowboy show. In the past it was both on CBS and Paramount Plus. But they make it sound like this upcoming season may only be on Paramount Plus. As for joining that gym, great idea if you consistently go.

And already....I'm outta gas.

Good Friday morning.
Where’s, ah, there’s Dave. I was wondering and you popped up.
A busy day Kathie but you sure did help out Rick’s daughter. Tough enough with her own issues. Now she has her Dad to be concerned about too. And yes, we are good listeners and here for each other.

I do think that, especially as I understand US health care, medical facilities are privately managed by large corporations so, as Dave said, each is its own little kingdom with their own rules.
I’d never heard of mounting a mailbox on PVC either. I think Dave and I need a picture to get the idea Karen.

I’m glad you enjoyed the river pictures. It wasn’t too long after we got home it started to pour. It’s supposed to rain here shortly so our early morning walk got scrubbed.
I’m going to tuck in to my berries and yogurt, shave, shower and head off to The Heart Institute. I think I’ll save my coffee until after I get out of my appointment. I don’t want the caffeine messing with anything they do before they hook me up. :emoticon 0100 smile:
Hi to Mike and thoughts to Bill.
See you later.

Got this message from Rita this morning. See below.
******************************************************************************************
"Kathie Bill passed very peacefully this morning. Please let the bunnies know that you were all part of His extended family, and he looked forward to chatting with all of you every day"
❤️

*******************************************************************************************
Sorry to be the bearer of such sad news to our Hutch family.

Just can't believe this happened so fast. Let's all say a prayer for Rita and her family to make it through these trying days ahead of them.

It's going to be a quiet day here. Just too much illness going on lately. Take care and give each other an extra hug today.

If I hear anything more about funeral arrangements, etc I'll pass it along.

Note:
I did send a 'message' to Pat & Berts daughter, Melissa, to let her know and to have her tell Bert. I know they were all good friends. Not sure when or if Rita would be contacting Bert. Just wanted him to know.

It's a cloudy day today from last nights rain. 67F and humid/muggy right now.

That's it folks.
Not sure what's on the addenda for today. Baking always takes my mind off of things, so I might try to do that. Just feeling sad for losing an extended family member and thinking about all the horrible things going on in this crazy world. Wish it was SUNNY outside..... that would help. Chat later.

Well, not the news I was hoping for when I got home. Kathie, thank you for letting us know about our Bill.
Lu-Ann and I send our thoughts and prayers to Rita and their whole family.
I hope each and every one of you felt the virtual hug I just gave you all.
