Morning!

Wishing the best outcome for your friend Gail, Lee. By the price of your salmon at Costco, I'd say it's time for you to take up fishing.

Thanks for all the pictures, K2. I wonder if your neighbor will replace the gazebo, or just enjoy the better view through their window.

More Christmas catalogs came in the mail yesterday. That and some Christmas stuff has begun to show up in stores made me think of you KC. Since you are often done Christmas shopping before most people even get started, I wonder how far along you are in your holiday shopping.

Are you tired of eating tomatoes yet, Mike? :)

The new phone book showed up yesterday. I can't remember the last time I looked in a phone book for a phone number. I don't know how the companies that make them stay in business.

Destruction of our bathtub and putting in the walk in shower begins today. As usual our nephew/contractor gets the use of the garage where he can keep his tools and power tools. That way he doesn't have keep putting them back in his truck every day.

We've know this guys for years and years but he told us for the first time just the other day that he has and plays the piano. I knew he was a very smart guy when it come to construction, but we never knew this side of him. He can also play the ukelele, and the harmonica.

There be construction dust a comin’ in Massillon today! Don’t forget the before, after and finished pics Dave!
I would have popped on last night but I was in the produce aisle trying to open a bag…So true Kathie.
The calendar says September. This weekend says Fall. Some leaves are just starting to turn. But the thermometer says summer. Things are messed up here too Mike.
Aside from Jane’s back grass Karen, how many projects do you have on the go this weekend?
Lu-Ann and I do truly appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers for Gail. This really came out of nowhere. The ridiculous thing with our “free” health care system is they told her the results could take up to two weeks. Totally unacceptable.
It sure has started to get foggy!
Everyone be safe and have a fantastic day.

Have a cup of coffee or a DRINK and kick back and relax and enjoy the gorgeous day! Hot, but loving it here!

Dave: Like Lee mentioned......
Have Kathi take BEFORE, DURING and AFTER pictures for us Wrabbits. How fun to have this project get started. You'll be singing in the new shower before you know it. It will be worth the DUST!!

Dave asked: K2. I wonder if your neighbor will replace the gazebo, or just enjoy the better view through their window.

That neighbor across the way won't be putting a new Gazebo on that area! He has wood forms that they use when pouring cement patios in place. It really surprises me that they aren't building a WALK-OUT of the house deck like most of the other neighbors did. I think CEMENT is in their genes, because when they are talking loudly it's in a foreign language. Art says they're waiting for their turn to get the CEMENT DELIVERED! At least if it comes in the next few days they have nice weather for pouring.

Karen hope the Miss Reba job is complete by the time you read this and you are sitting down with a glass of your favorite spirit! :emoticon 0115 inlove:

how is the construction coming along Dave? I hope it didn't get too dusty
got up to 89 today Lee, now if it will only stay that way until January then warm up a little.
We haven't had our grass cut in two weeks, maybe three weeks and it still doesn't need it.
suppers ready

Oh yea, there's lots of dust. Especially when they were tearing out old drywall.

Yesterday they did get out the old tub. And yes, it was a super heavy cast-iron tub. I still can't believe these 2 guys got that thing out of the house in one piece without damaging anything or themselves.

The 1951 tub was pink, but we had a white plastic covering put over it a few years ago. The toilet was also pink, but we had just replaced it with a white one. Back in the early 50's pink and aqua tubs & toilets were popular.

Kathi didn't get any "before" pictures, but she did get some "during" pictures. She'll post them when it's all over. Neither of us could get on the computer while they were here because we would have been in the workers way.

LOTS of noise, but after a while the dogs got used to it.

And Boo-Hoo, I didn't get my BEloved afternoon nap. :)

Holy cow! Is it ever foggy again this morning. I’m sure glad I had my reflective “suspenders” on this morning.
I remember seeing pictures of pink tubs and toilets in history books Dave. And plastic covered furniture in the living room. Those guys that figured out how to resurface tubs really had a great idea! Can’t wait to see the pics when it’s all done.
It got warm, well HOT here yesterday too Mike. The humidity made it feel like the low 90’s. Same for today.
Did the neighbour’s cement get delivered Kathie? A lot of people here have a cement pad under their raised decks. I can see them doing something or there’s a heck of a drop from the “door wall”.
Hi Karen. Don’t you work too hard!
Everyone have a really, really good Friday.

Good morning! Woke up at 5:30 again this morning, for some reason that seems to be my "new" wake up time & I'm not happy about it. My sister kf indly pointed out that since I go to bed around 9 I'm getting 8 hours of sleep. I don't care, lol, it's still dark out & I don't want to wake up that early!

Dave, sounds like a good day's work by your nephews crew. I remember when Larry & I took out our cast iron tub at my old place, we had to have the neighbor come over to help us get it out. Then my dad said we could have just taken a sled hammer & whacked it in the middle & it would have broken in 2. He said cast iron is very brittle, not sure if that's true or not.

Kathie, That's a very strange set up your neighbors have for the new patio, unless like Lee said they are planning to build a walk out deck over top of it, but that sure is a lot of cement for that.

Mike, lucky you not having to mow your grass for a couple weeks! If I tried that at Jane's her yard would look like a hay field. We have had a good bit of rain this year, which is great for the water table, but makes weekly mowing a must.

Lee, glad you wore your reflective gear this morning! Other than Jane's yard tomorrow I don't have much planned for this weekend. I'm sure that will end up changing but for now I'm planning to just chill!

Got Miss Reba's hose & sprayer hooked up yesterday & her plants trimmed back. She wanted them cut back really low so I told her I would come back in a week or so and trim them some more so they don't go into shock & die. She also wants some fresh mulch put down so I'll do that then as well.

Choir practice last night with a substitute director as Brian is on vacation, only 7 members again last night, but the lady kept commenting how good we sounded for such a small group. Made us feel pretty good!

Pamela is coming over this afternoon to go with me to take food to Leila & visit with her a little while. Then we are going to the fish fry at the Catholic church, I've had gift certificates for us for several months & now they don't sell them any more. They told me they still honor the ones they sold but I don't want to wait to long & end up missing out.
Need to take the clothes out of the washer & put them in the dryer, so best get a move on, have a great day all!

Good Morning Wrabbits!
On here looking for a recipe I saw and didn't print off for a Chocolate Stuffed Banana with Crescent Roll strips wrapped around it. I have the oven pre-heating and will just 'wing-it' since I can't find the recipe. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Lee: NO CEMENT YET! They were over there in the dark of the night with a small light and the light from next to the "doorwall" on real late. They had huge Pink insulation sheets and were doing something with them. Couldn't see them this morning when looking over that way. It's the kind of sheets that you would use for walls in a basement or if you wanted to sound proof a wall. Who knows. I'm thinking that cement is either coming late today or on Saturday.

DAVE:
Love the SOUND of PROGRESS going on in your house. Wow, a CAST IRON TUB. Bet that might be worth a few bucks at the salvage area! Does this shower have TILE around the walls and floor or is it a modular shower unit? Art was asking that question? He wondered if it was a modular unit how they would get it inside the house in one piece or if it can in a few pieces?

And when we rented an upper flat when we first got married about a block from my childhood home the bathroom had Pink tile with a deeper burgundy line going around the bathroom. I bought light Pink Towels and Moss Green towels to try and make it look decent for the time we were living there. I loved that Flat. It was big and open spaces and fun to live in. I still drive by and look at it when I'm on that side of town.

Karen: How did the Miss Reba job go? Is today a day of "rest"? Ha Ha. THERE YOU ARE POSTING WHILE I'm posting. I gotta go read what you had to say.

GREAT POST KAREN! Wow, you sure did a lot at Miss Reba's. Good for you.
Goodness, they still have FISH FRY's at the Catholic church close to you? Nice that they will honor your Gift Certs. Enjoy!
My nephew does Fish Fry's on Friday's at his Bar. Good Perch or Walleye. We get to eat it up at the bar-rail! Ha ha.

Later gang. Take care it's going to be another HOT ONE!

Just had a call from Miss Reba, thanking me again for doing her flower bed yesterday and telling me how nice it looked! Such a sweet lady, she had already thanked me yesterday AND paid me $40 for doing it, which I hate taking but she is to proud & stubborn to let me do it for free. Just makes my day to hear her so happy about having some weeds pulled & plants trimmed!

Nothing going on over here!

Dave: How’s that bathroom coming along?
Did you get a Nap today?

This mornings Stuffed Banana with Choc. Not bad, but better cooled and not hot outbof the oven!

Kathie, your pastry looks good but I'm not a banana fan, wonder if you could make them with a different kind of fruit. I always worry about taking money from the older people in here that their kids are going to think I'm taking advantage of their parent. That's why I never charge them, but some just will not let you help if they can't pay you something.

Fish dinner tonight was fabulous as always! We got there a few minutes before 4 and were seated right away & had our food within a very few minutes. HUGE piece of white fish, potato "waves", coleslaw & green beans. I brought home over half my fish & a few of the potato's plus a BIG slice of choc. cake.

Just spent about 10 mins. setting up a credit freeze on all 3 of the credit reporting sites. Apparently there was a massive security breach on a government server a while back and millions of social security numbers, birthdates & other personal information were compromised. There was a site you could go to see if your info was stolen & mine was. I had been putting off doing a credit freeze because I was afraid it would be complicated & hard to do. Tonight I got an alert from one of my credit card companies that monitors my credit reports that my SS# was found on the dark web. They had links & ph numbers of all 3 reporting agencies so I went ahead & got my credit frozen. It was very quick & simple and hopefully will really keep anyone from trying to steal my identity. I'm going to suggest my sisters do the same with their credit. It's easy enough to unfreeze if you want to apply for a loan or a credit card. Consider this your Public Service Announcement & Good Night from Belleview!

I'm not ready for a weekend, with all the overload of sports on the boob-tube.

KC; Sounds like Miss Reba has decided that you are her landscaper. And honestly shows her appreciation for your work. She feels pride in paying you, which keeps her from feeling like a charity case. Even though we know you'd do it for free. Good choice on protecting you identity.

I'd forgotten about that plastic covered furniture, Lee. I had a childhood friend who's parents had that stuff on their living room furniture. Even a plastic runner to walk on to get to the bedrooms.

Yes, you can bust up a cast iron tub to get it out of the house, BUT it's rather dangerous. Being brittle it can break into very sharp shards like flying glass when smacked. Our nephew/contractor said that if he had to do it he'd have to wear long pants and eye protection. He hoped to avoid it.

Progress continues on the bathroom, K2. (As does the dust.) It's a modular shower unit. And comes in the house in sections. Yesterday more destruction took place and I was surprised that they were able to cement in the floor section, the part you stand on, before the weekend. They won't be back till Monday to give it time to set up.

Mike; How's it going in tropical southern Ohio? Around here it's been dry and sunny for the past 12 days or so. But all next week it'll be wet. Most Of Ohio has been in a drought recently.

Good morning.
That would be kind of disconcerting to get that info about the security breach Karen. Good to get things in order. I’m sure Dave is right about Miss Reba insisting she pay you.
Interesting dessert Kathie. I do like bananas and chocolate. I wonder, as did Karen, if you could use other fruit from the berry family. Hmmm. What are the neighbours burying in the cement?
WHAT?? The Canadian guy thinks bananas are berries? Well, believe it or not they ARE part of the berry family! Again, fun and educational.
It’s got to be tough wanting to see how your nephew does things but because of the small space not being able to Dave. I always left contractors, if we used any, alone unless they asked if I wanted to see what or how they did things. If you think it’s dusty now just wait for the drywall stage!
89F this time of year is way too warm for me Mike. Especially if it’s humid.
I spent time on the phone with Bell yesterday. My plan was to cut the land line and save $50 plus tax per month. Long story short we still have the land line. The “loyalty” agent applied all kinds of discounts for having multiple Bell services, being a long time customer, paying our bill on time and so on. She made a good point that with a landline 911 emergency service can pinpoint your location. Anyway, after “Melissa” applied all of the discounts to our services we still have the land line with all of the features we had. The total cost? ZERO dollars. Yep, with all of the discounts applied to tv, internet and home phone we pay nothing, saving that $50, every month. I think it’s because Bell needs to keep their landline user numbers up. Sorry for the long rambling explanation!
Have a great Saturday everyone.

Good deal on t he landline Lee, Fay is thinking about dropping our land line but we can't. I use a closed caption phone and we have to have a landline phone to get it. 93 today Lee.
Dave we have the same, supposed to get to 93 today. All of the people around here that have pools closed them the day after memorial day and the puplic pool closed also. Way back when I think our first fall frost day was Sept. 20.
Karen, we got a message about that then forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder. I agree with Dave and Lee, We would pay our son in law when he did work for us and he didn't want it but both Fay and I felt much better when he took it. He was our dependable go to guy.
K2, can't go wrong with chocolat and bananas although Fay prefers banana s and peanut butter. I like peanut butter and chocolate, I think almost every thing goes well with chocolate.

You’re calling my name on all of those combinations Mike! Weather guessers say it feels like 93F here now. WAY too warm for September 21! A lot of pools got closed the week after Labour Day here too.

Don’t make the Banana and choc recipe. It wasn’t worth the price of crescent rolls and good chocolate. At least I know that now.

Karen. Good for you keeping up with the credit scammers.
Can YOU still withdraw money from your checking and savings easily? I need to look into this next week. Think I’ll go talk to the nice gal at our bank.

Cement got poured this morning across the creek. Still have no idea how they will get out that back door!

We got about 10 mins of a nice shower last night at 12:05 am. You’d never know it rained unless you were up like I was.
I was just going to close the lights and heard the rain on the roof. Had to look outside since we haven’t had any sounds or trace of rain for weeks.

I gotta run to the store for some Flour Tortillas. Making Perch Tacos tonight like we had in Goderich a few weeks ago.
I
Even bought fresh perch from the fish store and made a salsa for them.

Here’s a pic to put a smile on your face. And a cement pic too!
