KAREN: Take that Tylenol right after you eat something in the morning and before you leave for the church. So glad your friend had a extra back brace. I see a Epsom salt hot soak for you when you get home. It'll loosen up those tight muscles.
Not a bad amount of money for the first day. But I know it would be so much nicer if it was a lot LESS WORK involved in getting it ready. Take care.

Mike: Nice song by Nat King Cole. Always liked his singing.

Lee: I swear you do more neat things than anybody else on this site. Good for you booking parking ahead of time.

Sorry about the pictures being so LARGE! Not sure if some of you look at your messages on a big screen monitor or just the cell-phone. But on this big screen in the computer room those pictures are way too big! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Better to see them though! Ha Ha.

Art and I did a drive up to St Clair, MI along the water side. It was SUNNY and no traffic to speak of. We ate at the same restaurant we usually go to up there. Good food. And YES... I had a Bloody Mary and laughed when I ordered it thinking of my Hutch Wrabbits.

We saw 2 freighters and a barge that had a tugboat fixed into a "V" in the back of it that was pushing it down the river. I'll try and post a sort video when I get to my cell phone. It was a nice day to do this drive.
Dropped off a Nut Roll at our friends home on the lake AGAIN. And his door was open/unlocked and he wasn't around AGAIN! So I just left it off to the side of the door. Hope he comes home and finds it.

The measure guy from the granite company did his measurements and now we just wait until they tell us when it will be ready to install. I bought the sink and Art thinks it's big, but "what does he know"! Ha Ha. The guy said it will work. Still need to pick out a paint color, but I'm waiting until the new counter is installed. It almost white'ish quartz and right now we have a REALLY DARK granite in there. So, I'll wait to get a better idea. With the cost of paint these days I don't want to make a mistake.

Night WRABBITS. Dave, I hope you did good at the grocery store. Any new pumpkin items?

Good Morning!
I can only hope that, like Ava and I, Dave slept a tad longer this morning.
Nat was one of the finest voices of the time Mike. Thanks for sharing another of his “unforgettable” tunes.
There are so many different ships on The Detroit River Kathie! Some of the “pusher tug” ones like you saw used to be lake freighters. They retrofitted them by removing the old, worn out engines to accept a tug in the back! I have a ship tracker app on my phone so we can see the ships, where they have been, where they are headed and their history. It’s pretty neat.
Take it easy at the rummage sale Karen. Don’t overdo it. More than you already have.
Speaking of Ava, here she is now wanting her walk. Wait until she gets out and realizes it’s COLD!
Have a fantastic day everyone.

It's what time? Boy did I sleep in.

GREAT song and video, Mike. Nat King Cole has always been one of my favorite singers.

I too like the last cut of the lawn to be a bit shorter, Lee.

Screw what your lawn guy says, K2. He's working for you. TELL him to cut it shorter if that's what YOU want. Those pictures you posted tells me that your are going to be raking up leaves for quite some time. I happen to like BIG pictures.

Sounds like your church's rummage sale isn't doing too bad, KC. But it sounds like one item you should purchase there is your friends spare back brace.

No pumpkin items hopped into our grocery cart yesterday, but a mint/dark chocolate Kit-Kat bar did.

No plans for us today. Good! It's been a L-O-N-G week.

Good Sat. morning! Going in a bit later to the sale this morning since I am staying to help pack up. Last year the lady in charge let the people who were helping pack up take anything that was left they wanted. I have my eye on a couple things in case she does that again, will also take some $ in case she doesn't
Loved all the fall pics & the song Autumn leaves was always a favorite. Going to go fill up my truck with gas before I head to the sale so should probably think about getting dressed. Have a great one all!

Have a fun and productive day at the rummage sale Karen. I’m willing to bet that because it’s for the church even if the lady does say “help yourselves“ you’ll make a donation of some sort. That’s just who you are. :)
Dave, if you think this has been a L-O-N-G week, just wait for the next four years.

Back on October 20 I shared a photo of one of the trees in The Navy Yard. I believe it was Dave who suggested I post the same picture taken a couple of weeks later. Today I took a similar picture and that beautiful tree doesn’t have a leaf on it! Also in the picture are a couple of the decorations that will be lit up for RiverLights that starts in a week or so.

I leave you with nothing to add, but........HAVE A FUN DAY.

our good friends came over tonight, Fay baked a lemon cake and as usual it was delicioius.
We didin't do much of anything today, Fay had some running around to do but that is nothing new. I stay at home do what I always do, nothing.
Thanks for the pictures K2, I enjoyed t he picture of the old sailor. I wonder what he was thinking.
I liked the first picture ot the tree Lee. It did't take long for the leaves to fall did it? Out pear tree still has most of it's leaves and there are a lot of tiny pears on it. The squirrels will have the pears eaten by spring.
Kc. is that why you have a pickem up truck????? I hope you got the items you were looking at. Also hope it was a productive day.
Dave, I would always cut the grass lower for th e last cut which was generally mid November. By spring it would be tall.
Enjoy the rest of the week end.

Morning Bunnies!

So KC, at the end of the rummage sale did you get to snatch up a couple of items that caught your eye?

Thanks so much Lee for remembering to post a present day picture of that same tree that you posted on October 20th. At that time is was covered with beautiful red and gold leaves. Now, it looks like a bare skeleton. I went back and looked at that Oct. picture. (Page 655.) I bet those decorations that will be lit up will look sweet.

K2; Great picture of the barge and tugboat. Such a big barge, and such a small tugboat pushing it. On your picture of Art.......I had to laugh that it made me think of the book, "The Old Man and the Sea." :)

Hi there, Mike.

Our early walk lasted all of 5 minutes and then the rains came. As we started off I had an alert on my watch “rain expected at your location in 4 minutes”. Sure enough it started to spit so we headed back just as the real rain arrived! Sometimes technology is a good thing.
”A pickem up truck”. I haven’t heard them called that for years Mike. Now the darned things are a major luxury purchase that all “The Mommies” have to have to take the kids to school! The latest I can remember cutting the grass was November 11.
The town puts a lot of effort in to RiverLights Dave. I can’t imagine how many miles of mini LED lights and cords are involved. I hate to say it but it always looks nicest with a little snow on the ground.
Excuse me while I go wash my mouth out with soap after uttering that four letter word.
OK, back now.
Great shots of the barge and pusher tug Kathie. Oh, and that Navy Fella too. It amazes me how high up the wheel house is so the captain can see the whole vessel he’s pushing.
I know today is a church day Karen. But I hope you take a portion of this day of rest and, well, rest after a busy few days. Were you able to pick up any of the items you were eyeballing? I would have tucked them under stuff or at the back to increase my chances of them being there at the end.
I’m hoping with the rain the monthly walkin toenail trims at the local dog groomers won’t be as busy as usual. They do a good job and only charge $10!
Everyone enjoy whatever this Sunday brings your way.

Good SUNDAY morning Wrabbits.

Lee: We got that same spit of rain earlier over here too. Next time the SUN comes out it should help a LOT of the leaves fall. Right now our front lawn and street it loaded with WET LEAVES and they'll stay there until they dry. Nothing harder to do than try and clean up WET leaves.
I did see the new release of Detroit Monopoly. Can you just imagine how many of those games will be under CHRISTMAS TREEs this year!

I went to see Manny yesterday and while there Mark gave me a box with a Gutter attachment for the EGO Blower. It has these extension tubes you connect and you can stand on the ground and blow the leaves out of the gutter. Should be interesting to see how well it works. We will have to wait until the WILLOW tree next door is done blowing it's leaves over into our gutters.

Karen: As others have said........I hope you were able to get the items you had your eye out on from the sale.

Lee: Art pointed out the WHEELHOUSE on that Tug and why it was so high. Makes sense to be able to see where you're going.
And DAVE.... Art does look like "Old Man and the Sea"! Ha Ha

Mike: That Lemon Cake sure would be good with a cup of fresh coffee right about now. I bet it was just perfect and yummy.

You all have a good day. I'm going to get BILLS together to pay in few minutes. Hey, unlike Orange man, we do pay our bills and taxes.

Just had to post this short video of the huge Christmas tree arriving in Rockefeller Center.
I watched a video the other day of it getting cut down. WOW. Almost a shame to have such a beautiful tree (70+ years old) cut down.

Amazing how they had to get up into the tree and TIE UP the branches so they could transport this huge tree to NYC. If you have the time it's nice to look at all the videos. I like to watch it as they put on the lights, etc.

Here's one more: CLICK ON THE MSN letters!

Lee, we will probably have our grass cut tomorrow, Nov. 11 and that should be the last for the year. The grass is only high in a few spots. I always liked the first snow and I think I still do. When I lived in a company coal mine house as a child many years ago that first snow was alway so nice and white, then the dust from the chimneys and traffic made the snow almost black.
K2, thanks for postint the pictures of the norway spruce tree. I felt a littl sad about it being cut down. I don't know how long spruce trees live and I wonder how many more years that tree would have lived. I had a spruce tree in our front yard and it was a motel for a lot of birds during the winter.

Dave I also thought of the old man and thd sea, it has been years since I read the book, don't know why since I don't like to read that much and I only know the old man was in a row boat and should he cut the line loose.
Are you rested Kc, sure hope so.

History lesson…
On this day in 1975, yes 49 years ago, The Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior. The last ship to contact The Edmund Fitzgerald was the Arthur M Anderson. We missed her but The Arthur M Anderson sailed up The Detroit River past Amherstburg today. It’s not every day you get two Art Anderson’s in one post…

Lee: Art appreciated you mentioning him in your post. That’s one LONG freighter.

Out Mark is on a long day of sitting in planes.
Went from Detroit to Seattle and from Seattle to Taiwan. He’s there on business until Sat. (Better him than me)

We just had a strong wind and hard rain come through here. Only lasted about 8 mins. Hopefully, it brought more leaves down!

The Lions were behind and played a horrible game and then WON with a 50 foot field goal kick! Amazing.

Lions. 26. Dallas. 23

It’s now 12 midnight and Mark has been flying from Seattle for 5 hrs 33 mins. He still has 6 hrs 50 mins to go to get to Taiwan. Better him than me.

With the time change he will get there 9:00 pm Monday night. At least he is in a really nice hotel and will go to sleep right away. Thank goodness.

Have a good Monday folks.
