A very good Wednesday morning to you all.
I’m sitting in for Dave as the early man in the hutch today. Of course we’re all hoping to see his smilin’ face, wit and wisdom back here tomorrow. That’s what we need. Our own hutch radio station. WBUN.
I don’t know what we’ll be up to today. Because of the one property manager booking three weeks when we have traditionally stayed here we will pack up this afternoon. Then tomorrow we move to another house in the community just around the corner. Oh well.
I don’t know what didn’t work Kathie?
There’s always a few vehicles from OH in this community Mike. I thought it was neat seeing one from your town. So nice that you have family who are willing to help with things close by.
Overall there are a lot more empty homes than usual in this community this winter. I’m sure our 65 cent “dollar” has kept some Canadians away. Still, there’s way fewer out of state tags than usual.
I should be off. I think my coffee is ready.
Have an amazing Wednesday everyone.

Good afternoon!

Lee thanks for the early post.
Hope our buddy DAVE is doing well this morning.

I have nothing for you all right now. (Lucky for you... ha ha)

Good evening everyone!
I hope the day has treated you all well.
Also hoping Dave is home by now.
Tomorrow is changeover day. Because the “bean counter” rented this house while we are usually here we move to a home owned by a friend of Sunshine’s in the community around the corner for the next three weeks. A new experience for us. So, we are all packed and ready to load up in the morning.
I’ll try to pop by in the morning. We want to do a quick tidy before we leave. I know, who tidy’s a rental property before they leave? Well, we do.
See you all tomorrow.

I’m sitting in for Dave as the early man in the hutch today. An excellant job Lee. I hope the moving isn't' too complcated. After driving from Canada to Florida it should be a snap. Do you think the empty rooms are a sign of the times.
I also hope Dave is getting along okay and we will be hearing from him soon.
If you are reading t he posts Dave. HI

Gives you something to do~ :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: ;)
Let us know how you like it compared to the 1st house. Hope the pool comes with it!

Have a good night Wrabbits.

DAVE: Hope you are not in pain and taking it easy. Be good to your House Nurse, she's got the control now.

Just got a reply from Rita that I thought I’d share with you all!

Thanks for checking, Kathy. I’ve been in Vero Beach FL since Jan. 1. It is finally warm enough here to use the pool and beach

I saw Bert a few weeks ago and he looked very good. We met at Gary and Lon’s house in Melbourne
Along with Missy . It was so nice to see him looking so well. My cruise isn’t
Until March 2. Next few days will be tough because our anniversary was Feb 10 and then Valentines day. My daughter, her husband and my youngest granddaughter are coming here on a Feb. 14
To spend school vacation week here, so that will help keep me busy! I am looking forward to their visit.

That’s it folks.

Thank you for sharing the note from Rita Kathie. Much appreciated. Yes, the pool and pool heat are part of the rental.
I do think it is Mike. (a sign of economic times). Plus there is so much new construction here people have more choice and newer communities.
Our back yard neighbour here is from Goderich, Ontario (Kathie knows where that is) and we were chatting today about next year. They have been coming to this community for as long as we have. We are both booked for next winter but are watching the political situation.
G’nite my friends.

K2; You get the award for most interesting stories. From the fella who died leaving behind funny comments, to the grocery customer being saved from cracking his skull by the rapid response by other grocery store customers. Most people are kind and protective people.

And NO, they weren't "rambling" posts. The extra typing gave you the ability to give lots of little details which made the stories able to fly with interest.

Gotta admit Lee that I've never seen reflective suspenders. But with that and all the other reflective wear you put on for your early morning walks you are wisely protecting yourself and Ava. Drivers aren't overly observant when it's "almost" daylight". Hell, with all their devices they barely pay much attention when the sun is out and brightly shining.

I think it's great Mike that you are still thinking about returning to doing some walking. Here's my suggestion; Use that heavier walker with the seat. Leave it nice and handy in the garage. Walk a bit, and sit for a bit when your legs get tired. It also will give you a chance to stop once in a while just to listen to the birds and watch the squirrels and chipmunks. I GOTTA know if you spot an Armadillo!

Missing you KC. Hope to hear from you soon. Hope your "cult" hasn't got you moving into the church and giving money for the Buffoon's lawyer bills. :)

Yes, my surgery went the way it was suppose to. Roto Rutering out a larger canal through my prostate so the whizz will come out. But damn, it left me hurting. Shoving a camera up my rear and another one up my weeny, and the scrapping out for the larger canal sure has me hurting. Even causes occasional blood in my urine caused by only minor movement. Heck, even farts, a little extra pressure to take a poop, or even a poor body position while trying to sleep can cause it.

The catheter was put back in till next Tuesday, when we find out if I can pee on my own. Hope all the pain will be worth that outcome.

Have a good Thursday Bunnies. Appreciate what we CAN do and remember the good times you had when you thought you could do anything. Heck, I loved the time when I thought I knew and could do anything. :)

And with Dave back home and his post starting the day my world has somewhat returned to normal.
Glad to hear that everything seems to have gone as planned with your procedure. Now take it easy, follow doctor’s instructions and do what Kathi tells you for a few days. Work towards being able to do anything!
Time for our early walk and then “movin’ day” can begin.
See you all later from the new place.
Have a super day my friends!

Good to see you’re home Dave. “No pain, no Pee! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Take a stool soften pill to make the moves easier! Thanks for the explanation. Always nice to know just what happened.

I have a friend in Florida that had bi-pass heart surgery and after being home a month posted on his Fbook page yesterday…”I’m at Sarasota Hosp”
Would have been nice to say I’m here for a check up or procedure, etc, etc. Nope we who know him had to wait until someone contacted his wife to find out just what was going on. It was for some heart scans and then they zapped his heart to get it back in rhythm. All is good now.

Lee & Lu-Ann:
Happy moving day. Hope it all goes well. Is it far from where you’re at now?
Take a few pics of the place and pool, etc.
Ask the folks from Goderich if they remember the days of the Yellow Champion Road-graters were located on the East end of town by the Maitland River. Art takes us by that area every time we go to Goderich. Just something he remembers from his childhood days of spending Summers in Goderich and at Port Albert cottage.
I really miss our Karen on here. Leaves an empty spot in the pit of my stomach not hearing from her in weeks and weeks. Hope it wasn’t anything I said or posted. :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:
Mike: Take Daves advice when it comes to taking short walks outside. Perhaps you can arrange for one of the kids to be with you when you start out. Down the driveway and back would be a great start. Keep walking around the house.
We’re suppose to get 2-4 inches of snow on Saturday. Joy, joy.
We did get some freezing misting last night, but temps are rising and the gutters are already dripping with melting roof ice.
You all take care. I want to go see Manny today. I bought a small toy that he will rip apart ASAP. Ha ha.
Have a good day.

I know, just when you all thought that he may not find his way back to the hutch, well, here I am.
I kept getting freezing rain warnings for home on my watch Kathie. I hope that your day isn’t filled with bad weather. This house is about 8 minutes from our other “home”. I’ll post the link to this property that is on the Global site. Don’t go by the prices because we pay Sunshine’s rate. I too miss our Karen and wonder if I said anything to offend her. Which I know none of us would ever do intentionally.

Mike, the folks on here have good advice for walking. I know a guy who unexpectedly had a triple bypass and valve replacement. Nine months later he did the Disney Princess 5K. It all started with a few steps and using a walker.

It’s been a long day. My sweetie and I are going to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine. I bet you didn’t see that coming. ;)
See you tomorrow friends.

Looks like a fine house you are now staying at Lee. What's next year's goal, get the 3 house variety-pack for your stay in Florida? Multiple packings and unpackings must mean this visit came with an exercise package.

Did Manny get his new toy, K2? And how long did it take him to destroy it? Hope you don't get that snow they were predicting for today. We'll be below freezing all day, but no precipitation forecast for us. Yesterday morning over 300 schools in our part of Ohio were closed because we had freezing rain first thing in the morning.

Utility companies can sometimes be a pain. We have a remote meter just outside the front door for our natural gas, although the actual meter is in the basement. But once every couple of years they need to go down into our basement to check the meter down there. But they sure give themselves a wide time frame to be here today, and be let in. Any time between 8 and noon.

Passing through! ;)
Lee & Lu-Ann the new house is really lovely. 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms not shabby. Were there that many bedrooms in the original house?
You really shouldn’t stay in that big house all by yourselves! We can be there next week! Ha Ha. Name a daily rental price! :emoticon 0140 rofl::emoticon 0136 giggle:
Do you find this place nicer than the 1st house as far as decor goes??
We have some wild and crazy WIND going on here. It actually woke me up.

Well. Look who I met in the hallway of the hutch walking around.
Hi Fr Dave. How you feeling buddy?
Make sure to call the Gas Company and verify that you really are on the list to check the meter in the basement. Hate to see some GOONS come in the house and beat you up.
All our meters are OUTSIDE. I bet you could request to have that meter moved to outside too.
Snow is suppose to start late Saturday and end early Sunday morning. Might get 2-4 inches.
I need to be in church this Sunday and if it’s still snowing this SINNER will be staying home.

Nice seeing your post so early Dave. Were you up because you just are in the habbit of getting up to go to the bathroom?
Okay folks back to bed for me. Have a good Friday all.

A little after 6:00 am and it seems I’m already late to the party.
Ava and I were out for our first early morning exploration of our new community. Lots of nice street lights and best of all they seem to enforce parking regulations so there were no morons blocking the sidewalk!
My first question is “How are you feeling this morning Dave?” A four hour window is pretty standard in our neck of the woods for any service call or delivery. We have a remote reader for our water meter which is in the basement. Our gas meter is at the side of the house behind the gate so I read the meter every month and send in the reading. When we’re away we get an estimate.
Switching over was a pain. We had to be out of Sunshine’s by 10 and couldn’t get in here until 2. That did give us the morning to go over to Panera for breakfast before heading back to pack and tidy. With the heat we had to watch where we went with Ava During the day. It all worked out. We stopped for groceries on our way back and were settled in in time for our afternoon glass of wine. We’re just so danged civilized, ain’t we. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
The new house is a newer build. Very open concept. The decor is newer and fresher Kathie. We did the same thing here we do at Sunshine’s. We picked the master we would use and closed the doors to the other rooms. We do like the pool area because it has a nice little “covered nook” with a table. But at the end of the day Sunshine’s place feels more like home.
Mornin’ Mike. Last one up has to wash the coffee cups and start another pot!

Don’t know if you ever even drop by Karen but we’ve left a light on for you.
Have a fantastic Friday. I’m gonna get a coffee. Anyone else want one while I’m up.

Nice informative post Lee! Sounds like a nice change.

I was going to just lay around and try to sleep in this morning and somebody called at
7:45 a.m. IT WAS A SPAM CALL according to the screen on the phone. Not how I wanted to start my day.

I propped myself up on a pillow and watched the morning news.
That was a waste of time.

Off to get a fresh cup of coffee and toast a piece of
Jill’s Sour Dough bread w/jelly on it!

Have a nice day ALL.

I will walk a little inside t he house and do my isometric exercises when I first get up, only about 5 minutes of them, still need to do the counter pushups and knee bends then I'm thru.
I hope you are feeling much better Dave. It is good to be reading your posts again.
Lee, the coffee cups ar e washed and the coffee is ready to start. It sounds like you have moved up Lee.
I hope you don't get too much snow K2
How are you doing Karen???? fine I hope.

Kathie, your mention of sourdough toast and jelly had me wanting some all day! I hope it was darned tasty.
Thanks for taking care of those coffee cups Mike. If there’s one thing there is a shortage of in this house it’s coffee mugs! Which is kind of funny when the home owner owns a couple of Tim Hortons in Toronto.
Have a good night everyone.
