Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

I'm here, been busy running around delivering my sister's Christmas gifts that were to big for her car & spending money on stuff I didn't need but it's "on sale". Well, I did need the ribbon I bought to re-do an old wreath I've had for years.

Dave, sorry to hear you didn't have any luck "making water" on your own this morning, sure hope a visit from Roto Rooter isn't next. Thank Kathi for that awesome rainbow pic!

Kathie, the livestream is a work in progress, and trust me you didn't miss much on missing the choir anthem. We only had 11 choir member Christmas eve & it really showed.

Mike, awesome old picture, it's funny how stand alone shops were replaced by Malls & now the Malls are slowing dying off being replaced by stand alone stores again. I miss the old Woolworth & Kressgees store (spelled wrong probably)

Lee, they keep calling for rain in our forecast but other than some misting rain this morning it's been dry. Grey, damp & gloomy but dry, I'll try to put in a good word for you on Sunday for some sunshine once you head south.

No plans for New Years, highly doubtful I'll be up past 10.

Had an awesome Christmas with my sisters & my friend Pamela, then Wendy came by for a little while to drop off presents. She had gone to her daughters for dinner & we didn't know she was going to stop by. Luckily I had her gifts wrapped, but Jane & Barb didn't bring their gifts for her.
I got a new Ryobi cordless circular saw for Christmas, now I just need to figure out what I want to build next.
May start packing up a few Christmas decorations tomorrow, I'm waiting till Tuesday to take down the tree. Seems like I just put it up.
Have a great evening all!

Me when I saw Karen dropped by. :) Glad to hear you had a nice Christmas.
For sure I’ll register our “flight plan” before we go Kathie.

Loved your picture Mike of shopping in downtown Wheeling. Even downtown Massillon was full of hustle-bustle and decorations at one time. Oh how times have changed.

The picture of the double rainbow was taken out our back door around 4 yesterday afternoon. Kathi never noticed that Fuzzbutt had photo-bombed the picture till she went to post it. The picture has a magical look to it.

Earlier in the day there was an odd look going on in our yard. Around 10 Friday morning our lawn guy showed up with a couple of his people. NO JOKE! Kathi looks out and sees them trimming the bushes and shrubs. Kathi and I are looking at each other wondering what the heck is going on. Heck, it's 2 days after Christmas, this is Ohio, and many places here in the midwest people are preparing for winter storms.

Oh well, we just stayed inside and watched their progress.

Next thing we know, we hear his commercial mowers firing up. They mowed the whole lawn before they left.

Like I said, it was an odd and magical day.

Good Spring morning!
It must be Spring. No snow. It’s already 47F. Like Dave and Kathi’s, the grass could be cut. CRAZY weather patterns. The temperatures here are supposed to drop through the week. Travel day #1 on Thursday looks like 31F when we leave headed to a high of 37F in Louisville. Dry though.
Is that the form for a back yard ice rink on the other side of your fence Dave? We have a couple of those in our community. One guy puts up the forms, lines it with plastic, strings up lights and waits.
If Ava gets up I’ll take her for a walk around here. The weather guessers have offered up conflicting forecasts that may or may not include rain.
To use up some milk and eggs I’m making waffles for breakfast. Can I make extra for anyone else?
Enjoy your day everyone!

LOST A POST! Darn it!

Good Mid-Morning. 52F Wow!

Got the Xmas lights down from outside! Had to take advantage of the mild weather. Had a slight drizzle, but it was worth getting done. Couldn’t wait for Art to get back from his bike ride. And Sunday there is a 80% chance of rain and the temps will be dropping the rest of the week.

Dave: Our grass could use a mowing too. Sun it peeking out as I am typing this! Crazy!

Lee: I’m getting excited for your trip. You must be getting ANTSY! How fun!

I’m going to start filling the desk calendar with Birthdates and Dr’s appointments. And so another YEAR BEGINS!

Be good little Wrabbits and have a fun day. Later gang.

A beautiful day for a walk at The Navy Yard. The wind and dampness made it feel a lot cooler than the 50F that was registered on Subie‘s dash!
We stopped in at the dog grooming shop in town to see about getting Ava’s toe nails trimmed. The young ladies who run it said “If she’s with you just bring her in now”. Then, because we’ll miss their $10 nail trims January 6 we’re kind enough to just charge us the $10 anyway. It’s usually $15 so they got a good gratuity.
I think I’ll take a page out of your book Kathie and get the outdoor Christmas stuff in while the weather is nicer.
Have a good, safe day folks!

Karen, now you are Santa's helper, do you get to ride the reindeer. I would like to look inside your freezer. I',glad you had an awesome Christmas.
You keep on having those nice walks Lee, will you continue them once you are in FL??? The eggs and waffles sound good, I like a lot of syrup on mine.
Dave had our grass cut about 3 weeks ago and I'm afraid it will need cut again. The weather has been very spring like and Plenty of rain. I think all the small town like Massillon and Wheeling had a nice shopping down town.
The young lady next door told Fay she smelled rain, it has been a long time since I have smell what I thought was rain. It got to 62 today. I guess I wont go skiing. Thats okay, I can't ski anyway.

Maybe water skiing Mike?
So many folks out at The Navy Yard today. And folks on motorcycles! On December 28!!
According to the weather tomorrow is going to be “soggy” and that will trigger dropping temperatures.
Oh well, enjoy the great weather days while they last.

Good afternoon!

Mike, so far I haven't gotten to ride the reindeer, but I also haven't had to clean up any reindeer poo, so that's a plus. Got your card yesterday.

Kathie, good job getting the lights down all by yourself. I will take mine off the timer New Years Day, probably won't take them down right away. Crazy weather here can't make up it's mind, grey & foggy in the morning, sunny at noon & now grey & gloomy again. I wish it would just rain & be done with it!

Lee, looks like I missed out on the waffles & coffee, good thing I had leftover Christmas cookies to tide me over. Nice of the ladies to give Ava the special price on the nail trim.

Dave, I can't ever remember having to mow grass in Ohio any time in Dec. let alone almost January. I think Toledo is a bit farther North than you so maybe we got colder weather. They haven't even mowed here in a couple weeks, with no rain everything is pretty dry & brown.

Got a few decorations packed up this morning & then spent some time shredding old bank statements & stuff. I really should just do the online statements & bills, I just like being able to go over a paper statement to make sure it's all correct.

Sold a Christmas quilt & sham set this afternoon, I bought it last year & really didn't like the slick slippery material so bought a new set this year for $19, sold the old set for $15 so my pretty new quilt ended up only costing $4 plus tax, not to bad a deal.

I haven't been able to find a big wall calendar to hang in my kitchen this year, so I printed out Jan & Feb pages and taped them over last years pages, works for now. I had several Dr. appointments coming up in Jan. and wanted to get them on the calendar before I ended up double booking myself.
That's about all the news from Belleview, I get busy & do some cleaning but I'm really not in the mood. Once the tree is down & everything is put away I do a big clean. Have a great evening all!

Karen: Not sure when it will be in the 50’s again up here, I just had to take down the lights.
We normally keep them lit up until Orthodox Christmas, Jan 7th. Not this year.
It’s 6:25 p Sat evening and
53 degrees! Amazing.

Morning Bunnies! A rainy Sunday morning.

The last days of 2024. Oh goody, now I won't be able to tell you what day it is, I'll also probably forget what year it is. :)

Your waffles did sound good, Lee. Although I can't remember the last time I had them. Although I will eat pancakes, I'd prefer to have waffles. And neither of which is any good if it's not SWIMMING in syrup.

Good call on taking down your lights, K2, before the weather goes bad. Although it's unlike you to take down any decorations before Orthodox Christmas.

Mike; I was thinking about Massillon's downtown and all the old buildings it's made up of. Most of them have the year they were built somewhere on the front of them. Not something they do anymore. It's surprising how many of them are near or over 100 years ago.

I'm still getting getting mental pictures of you riding a reindeer, KC. In some, doing it side-saddle. :) I too like paper statements, over the digital forms on the computer.

Nothing much planned for today. Just relax and mill around smartly.

Good morning from a very wet Amherstburg. It looks like a fairly large weather system bringing rain, heavy at times, to most of us. I may go out for a ride in Subie because from all appearances it’s a “driving rain”. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: It looks like even Karen could be seeing a little much needed rain in Bellview.
Our quest to use up stuff is why I made waffles Dave. We have a waffle maker that makes four good sized waffles at a time. I was able to freeze some for “toaster waffles” another morning. With syrup of course. You keep painting mental pictures of Karen riding a reindeer through the church. I keep smiling.
You do seem to do pretty well buying, selling and swapping things Karen. You need to come here for a week or so and coach Lu-Ann and I on your tips and tricks! For a percentage of the take. ;) I was wondering what your sisters have planned for you and your newly gifted saw? We’d be willing to license out the “OGC” name which in your case, with absolutely no disrespect, would be Old Gal Contracting.
Based on the weather today and forecast I think you had a good idea to pack away some outdoor lights Kathie. Thanks to your idea I did do the same.
I like a cookie after dinner Mike. I don’t need a cookie but I like one. I know we’ll be at Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs soon enough. We usually get four (at least). They’re so big we cut them in four and freeze them!
I’ll be checking a few more things off our travel list today. With the weather it’s not like we’ll want to be outdoors.
Whatever comes your way today my friends, make the best of it!

This is about what I look like on this Rainy Sunday. Still Raining lightly.
I made us Pancakes for breakfast w/sausage patties. I could do without the sausage patties.

Karen: This has a rather nice sound to it: " Old Gal Contracting "! Just not sure about the OLD part. Ha ha.

DAVE: I won't give into COMPUTER BILLS or PAPERWORK unless they actual charge me to send me paper statement in the mail. I like to look over the invoices, etc in my hands.

You all have a nice Sunday and stop by and let us know what you were up to today.

As for me..... the picture above says it all. I might start filling that desk calendar up, but just not in the mood to do it right now. Going to find some OLD MOVIE to watch.

Later.........

let us know what you were up to today.
Well, we were up to our knees in water Kathie. Figuratively of course. It just keeps raining! We went to the grocery for a couple of small things hoping to get a break in the weather to take Ava for her walk. But no.
Now, not all the “G” s in OGC‘s are old. The age range is from mid 60’s to mid 70’s.
We get all of our bills electronically. We still bring them up on screen and review each one. Then we file it. Most bills can be called up for the previous 12 months and we don’t need to shred them. I also keep a spread sheet with day to day stuff by month and another one that rolls up the year also by month. My “actuals” as I call it goes back 10 years!
Now, aren’t you sorry you asked what were up to.

Good afternoon! Finally getting some much needed rain here, and a few thunder rumbles so Ginger is hiding under the bed at the moment.

Lee, I'd be honored to be the Florida franchisee for OGC's, I certainly fit in the "O" age range! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Kathie, pancakes & sausage sounds good, I'm not a big sausage fan but sometimes I just get in the mood for it & then it tastes good. My mom always fixed sausage with our pancakes, course it was fresh from the farm sausage back then.

Mike, I had a cherry tomato plant come up in one of my flower pots from some kitchen scraps I put in the dirt, I now have 2 little tomato's & a bunch of blooms. Whether I will get any actual tomatoes remains to be seen.

Dave, be careful with those mental pictures of me on reindeers, don't want you to be waking Kathi up in the middle of the night with nightmares!

Rev. Lisa is on vacation this week so we had our usual supply priest, Father John. He's a really nice outgoing kind of priest and his sermons tend to be on the shorter side which makes him popular as well! I put in a good word for all of us & a special prayer for safe travels for Lee & LuAnn.

Got all the files shredded that needed done yesterday, so after I got home from church I worked on cleaning up the guest room. There were little pieces of shredded paper everywhere and that was even with having a grocery bag in the shredder.
Now I think I will go see about heating up the last of the leftovers & having lunch. Have a great Sunday all!

Lee, Fay told me about Jimmy Carter, he was admired more in his later years than he was when he was president. one thing really hurt him. RIP Mr. President
Kc, glad you got some much needed rain, now if the sun will come out mayb you will get some tomatoes. I think you would make and excellant horse trader. I remember my parents having a very large wall calendar. I wonder if they still make them.
K2, we will be getting some of that rain tonight, sometimes heavy,
Dave, a lot of the buildings in Wheeling have been torn down and made into parking lots. I hope Massilon isn't sharing that fate. We as teenagers always admired the Massilon football team and band.

Good Monday morning, dear Wabbits. And it's still 2024.

A wet Sunday for us. On and off all day long. Nothing heavy. This morning it'll start drying off and by afternoon the sun should come out.

President Jimmy Carter was a good, kind, and humble guy. I'm happy that he made it to 100.

Lee; I'm betting that on every trip you make to Florida there's things you like to do, restaurants to visits, and places to go that you do again on every trip there.

Next time you make pancakes or waffles K2, serve them with bacon. I don't think anyone would turn down that combination.

KC; If only more priests and preachers understood the beauty and joy that shorter sermons bring.

So far Mike, there's been no intentional tearing down of buildings in downtown Massillon, to make parking lots. But just a few weeks ago a couple of really old buildings had to be taken down because a minor fire caused them to become structurally unsound. And it was only a matter of time till they collapsed on their own. So far there's no hint as to what will be done with the area where they once stood.

Picking up a prescription is the only thing on our agenda, so far, for today. I've been trying to refill all my prescriptions before the first. That's when my insurance starts all over again at their most expensive prices.

I got one the other day that was $160. Sounds like a lot, but on January the 1st it'll be over $400.
