And, of course, YOU will arrange gorgeous weather for that open-air sailaway party on deck that the Duck Crew wanted so they could watch us sail underneath the Golden Gate Bridge.

Please remember that I'm not a tyrant - I delegate authority. You are in charge of San Francisco weather, and Tobyn is in charge of Alaska/British Columbia weather.

So be it!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...

The Golden Gate Gods came through today. The lower marine layer lifted, and it's beautiful out.

I liked the highway exits better! :lol :dizzy :lol

I can go back to them, if you prefer ..... Seriously, not a problem. I'm pretty good at following instructions (except for that one about, "Calgon. Take a seat in the Duck-A-Pault!" That one? Mmmmmmmmmmmmm ... I'll have to see how well GloBug flies first!

Those of you who have "normal" size feet have no idea what a chore it is to find shoes in size 15 1/2 or 16.

Hush Puppies actually used to charge him extra for the extra leather they used!!!!!

For sneakers, we go the Reebok's outlet. If they don't have his size in stock (which is the case 95% of the time), we can order them and Reebok will ship them for free.

I used to use his shoe boxes for Meghan Anne's toy chest! =lol =lol =lol

I think he needs some new toes in his socks though. Quack Quack--just a hint I have found useful particularly for Alaska I always carry an insulated cup and soem hot chocolate packages of mix. Some areas charge for hot chocolate. Seems to taste extra good on this cruise.. You can order a carafe of hot water for room just like coffee-handy to make hot chocolate or hot tea. Any one else got some good hints on Alaska crujising?

When it comes to clothing, the word is [large]LAYERS![/large] Our two prior trips to Alaska were both in May. However, we've had Friends who've sailed in August and they said the weather is changeable, so we're packing layers.

Also, I've heard that from the middle of June through the beginning of August is mosquito time in Alaska. Make sure you take some sort of insect repellent.

Go to Big Lots or the camping section of Target and grab a couple of the $1 rain ponchos. They are effective, and you can toss them after you are done with them.

Judi, we had a doorman who was about 7'3" tall. He said his cats would sleep in his shoes.
