Sit back and enjoy the sights of sounds while on the Colonial Collection sailing from Crystal Cruises, the Crystal Serenity has visited several ports of historical significance to the United States of America.

In this video, we focus on the sites we have had the great opportunity to tour: the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Freedom Tower in New York City, New York; the Vietnam War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial (pictured above), and Capitol Building in Washington D.C.; and the ships and settlement of Jamestown, and battlefield and homes of Yorktown via Norfolk, Virginia.

Carnival Cruise Line’s Beach Getaway Excursion in Freeport Offers A Day in Paradise

Bahamas Adventures Beach Club
The Bahamas Adventures Beach Club is located in Freeport, Bahamas and is offered as a Shore Excursion by Carnival Cruise Lines.

Cruise Addicts was aboard the Carnival Sunshine when she began sailing 5,7 and 8 night sailings year-round from Port Canaveral. This was only a two-night cruise and our one port of call was Freeport. A first for me, what the day would bring was unknown but the hope was for a relaxing day at the beach. Taking a Carnival Beach Getaway shore excursion we got that and a whole lot more.

Disembarking Carnival Sunshine, tour operators were on hand to greet guests and send them in the right direction; in our case an air conditioned tour bus. During the 30-minute ride, our driver did a running commentary all about what we were seeing along the way. At the site, we found many activities to choose from including volleyball, badminton, paddle ball, basketball courts and nice facilities for children making the Beach Break a great choice for families.

Walking up to the beach my first thought was this was a piece of paradise with picture perfect white sand beaches and turquoise water. It has comfortable blue loungers with padded head rests and very friendly staff. As I explored the beach I noticed that on the far end of the beach, you could even rent Jet Ski’s nearby. Going into the water the centerpiece is one of the largest water trampolines in Freeport “Fat Boy”. You can climb up it and jump up and down or sun bathe on it. If the water is high enough, you can jump off it.

Before long our group started getting hungry and we tried the famous Conch Salad. Everyone shared Conch Salad, Conch Fritters and Chicken Wings. The Conch Salad was the best I ever had. It was so fresh and flavorful with a hint of heat. Be sure to order yours early because they are known to run out.

In my quest for a relaxing beach day, I was successful. Maybe I’m just getting older, but having waves at my feet and a cool drink in my hand can sometimes be all the entertainment I need. This is a beautiful destination with more than enough food choices and amenities, I highly recommend it.

Choose Your Level of Amenities

What makes this shore excursion extra special is you have three different choices of what Beach Getaway experience you want to enjoy.

2. Open Bar – Open Bar includes domestic beverages and cocktails with domestic white rum, vodka, gin, tequila, juices and sodas. Cost – $49.99 Adult. $39.99 Kids. – Click Here to Reserve

This excursion has offers you 3.5 hours at the beach with 30 minutes of travel time to and from the location. The excursion is a total of 4.5 hours. Lockers are available, but be sure to pack your Carnival Beach Towel, sun screen. Cash is recommended.

Enjoy Carnival Sunshine’s PYOB! (Pour Your Own Beer) Station – Video Demo

When Cruise Addicts visited the Carnival Sunshine we were so impressed with the ships PYOB! (Pour Your Own Beer) Station. They have two onboard, one near the deli and the other next to the pizza. So imagine if you will, a late night of fun on a Funship getting a slice of Pizza or even a Sandwich. Now you can swipe your card and pour a nice cold draft beer, immediately. In this video demonstration we give the PYOB! Station a test run.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises Introduces Seven Seas Explorer

Regent Sevem Seas Cruises has introduced, Seven Seas Explorer. With an amazing 3,875-square-foot suite, extravagantly designed lounges and showplaces, and lavish gourmet restaurants, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is setting a new standard for luxury vacations with the launch of Seven Seas Explorer.

Debuting in summer 2016, the 56,000 gross-registered ton, all-suite, all-balcony ship will carry just 750 guests, boasting the highest space ratio in the cruise industry. Designed to be the most luxurious ship ever built, every inch of the vessel will evoke elegance and grace.

“We set a high benchmark for Seven Seas Explorer, not only to build a ship that far surpasses the current standard in luxury cruising, but to design a ship that will be recognized industry-wide as the most luxurious ship ever,” said Jason Montague, Regent Seven Seas Cruises president and chief operating officer.  “We cannot wait to share this ship with the world when she joins our fleet in the summer of 2016.”

Suites
Regent Seven Seas Cruises will introduce a new category of luxury suite exclusively for Seven Seas Explorer that sets the tone for the well-appointed and spacious all-suite accommodations found throughout the ship.  Named the Regent Suite, the plush two-bedroom, 3,875-square foot suite comes complete with an in-room spa retreat, a first at sea, with a personal sauna, steam room and treatment area.  The suite also features an outdoor, glass-enclosed sitting area aptly named the Vista Garden, where guests can enjoy magnificent, unobstructed 270-degree views over the ship’s bow and toward the horizon.

Dining
Seven Seas Explorer will feature an unrivaled collection of specialty, casual and main dining options for guests to enjoy aboard the ship.  Each restaurant exhibits its own intricate and elegant design, providing a dining atmosphere that deftly complements the high service level and diverse menu offerings.

The ship will offer three distinct specialty restaurants, including the fleet-wide signature steakhouse, Prime 7, highlighted by dark purple hues and silver accents reminiscent of a London private members club.  The hallmark main dining room Compass Rose will have a sophisticated contemporary look with an airy design motif and a whimsical grotto feel.  The Italian Riviera-inspired La Veranda offers a delectable buffet for breakfast and lunch and transforms into an elegant fine dining restaurant, Sette Mari at La Veranda, each evening for dinner.

Lounges
The ship’s primary showplace, the two-tiered Constellation Theater, pays homage to the glamour of Hollywood’s golden age.  The ornate 694-seat theater beckons guests with posh cabaret-style seating intermixed with cocktail tables that feature hand-blown Murano glass lamps.

The Observation Lounge brings to life the opulence and indulgences of the Roaring Twenties.  As if ripped from the pages of The Great Gatsby, the lounge’s design features a color palate of rich silver, gold, black and white hues, and floor to ceiling windows for incredible ocean vistas.

The Explorer Lounge provides a country club vibe with rich mahogany wood columns, comfortable leather chairs and deep blue fabrics.  On one side of the lounge, a golden proscenium outlines a small stage where live musical performances will take place, and anchoring the opposite end, a polished black marble bar stands ready to serve guests their favorite beverages.

The maiden voyage for Seven Seas Explorer will be a 14-night sailing from Monte Carlo to Venice on July 20, 2016.  Reservations for Seven Seas Explorer’s inaugural season open Feb. 4, 2015.  For more information or to receive a brochure, guests can call 1-844-4REGENT (1-844-473-4368) or contact a professional travel agent.
