Maw,

I called my TA and she called HAL and then called me back. It would be so much easier if I could have just called HAL directly.

BTW, I looked at the HAL website and all four seatings are listed as WAITING LIST. I guess if you're not booked by now you have to eat in the Lido.:grin

I have called HAL on numerous occasions over the last few months. Maw try calling 1-877-932-4259 and inquire about your dinning time. Have your booking number handy if possible, it is not needed but does make it easier. Did you see some of the prices for the cabins for our sailing, boy did they sky rocket?

Oh I am doing the 8:00 dinning time.

Suer,

Did you book with a TA? Whenever I've called HAL they could not answer any questions specific to my booking. I've only gotten them to answer general questions (e.g. size of a room, itinerary, etc.).

Thanks,
Marc

Some of the room prices did go up depending on what site you look at. The ship is filling up I suppose.

I requested 8pm (Main Upper) too. Lori (actually Jenn took the booking) has me listed on the confirmation as Dining: Main Upper (8:00pm). But we all know that can change by sailing date if the Matre'D decides to switch people around.

Maureen,

My category (K) disappeared from my TA's website and it's listed as 'guarantee' on HAL's site. So I guess I did what I said I would about the sideways cabin and just waited so long to switch that the decision was made for me.

OK, what am I going to do now to help pass the time until October 30?

Don't sweat it Marc. Your first choice is always your best. Otherwise it would be shoulda-woulda-coulda. At least the room you have will be fine if the ship starts to sway on the atlantic. Rocking back and forth is better than head to toe.

There's lots to do... Start making your personal shore excursion book up. I started last night. Gather ideas print them out and put them in a report folder. I do this before most cruises so I have a list of options. I print pictures out too so that who ever is traveling with me can see if that's where they want to go too. Don't stick with just HAL boards.. explore the other lines too because there are non-ship sponsored ones that people suggest all the time.

You could design a door decoration.. You can start saving your pocket change for your drink fund.. You could start planning the cruise after this one in case you want to take advantage of booking onboard shipcredit.. And the list can go on & on & on......

Maureen - Thanks for some great suggestions. Shore excursions will keep me busy for a while.

Maw - I'll be seeing you in the dining room. You'll recognize me as the one with three main dishes.

Orcrone, that would be my dh with the three main dishes(or me :grin) no wait we are doing 8:00 :lol Keep checking the board. That does make the time go by. We still need to narrow down sail away.

For Sail away lets keep it where it is warm for these old bones of mine please. Also lets have some tables and chairs not just bar stools.

Maw,

I don't know what the seating is like, but perhaps the Crow's Nest would work for you. I'm easy, anywhere on the ship where I can see outside and I'm happy.

I'm with you maw on the bar stool thing. These short legs don't care too much for them.

What about time? I've gone to sailaways at different times. The late night ones the first night seem to have the lowest turnout. Why not after the Muster Exercise? (anyone know what time that is?)

I think the evening get togethers make it difficult to find a time that someone isn't either eating or at a show. But we may also run into that problem with muster. I'm guessing it's not until we're about to be underway or slightly after. That may interfere with the 5:45 dinner. Maybe we could have it around 4 or 4:30. By that time everyone should be on board and it won't be too close to the early dinner.

Just a suggestion, I'm pretty easy.

BTW, I used to have the same problem with barstools but I had my legs lengthened. They now reach the ground.

OMG! I did not know that you guys were over here as well :lol

Ok..
So I guess that now that I have found you.. it is time to get down to the nitty gritty..

So who is staying at the Radisson?

Who wants to get together that night to eat?

who wants to meet on deck for a sailaway party like we do on most cruises?

who would like to sit with other addicts?

who is signed up for what time? we are on the 8 pm one.

that is all I can think of for now :grin

So now we check the CL@SS, MOS@IC, Community board.. and now this one :lol

If this is as much fun as the P@NAMA cruise .. we are in for a blast!
there are galleries on the board with pictures taken on the PANAMA cruise.. for those of you not sure of what and who you are dealing with :lol

cheers,
red stripe

Just found the picture gallery . Thanks girls. Sure wish Suer would show us something besides her shoes . I have a good one of her in red's shoes but again no face.

Red we are at the Radison, Would love to go out to eat night before. Sail away sounds like a must do. We are dining at 6:15 and would be happy to join a group if anyone is eating at that time. Really want to eat at a big table this cruise. We are booked thru Lori so if needed you can co ordinate our seating with her.

Hope the ghosty couple come up with a picture . Course they are approiate for a Hal oweenie cruise.

Suer,

Looked at the pictures you had posted and my cursor just happened to be sitting on the bottom row, right hand picture. What a surprise to find out that was DW and me. Guess I'll have to scan in a picture and get it to you. Now I have to hook up the scanner, get out the users manual..... Sounds like too much of a hassle. Besides I look better in your picture than real life.

As for us. We live local so we won't be at any hotel. Plan on making it to the ship early to avoid the crowds (and start the fun). We requested the 6:15 seating at a table of eight. Probably wind up at the 8:00 seating at a table for 615.

When we're a few days out I'll check the local forecasts so we can see what weather to expect for sailaway.

Marc
