Good morning! Hope your day is off to a good start. Not too much going on around here today until this evening. They're having a trivia contest tonight over at the Grill. I'm dragging Bert to this one. He loves the stupid kind of information you need to know to do well. Prizes are pretty good too. Not like on a ship where you get a rinky dink key chain. These are gift certificates to local restaurants.

Time for another cup of coffee ...

I've had a sore throat off and on for the past couple of days. I'm sure it's allergy related. Oak tree pollen is going off the scale right now. Top that with no rain to put the pollen on the ground and you see why everyone down here has some allergy symptoms.
Don't you just hate having to get a tire fixed? Neighbor of mine got a flat tire the other day and when she asked how they would fix it, she was told they couldn't due to tire having 2 holes. She said can't you plug them and the guy told her they only patch tires and not plug them anymore. He managed to talk her into 4 new tires! That was one expensive flat!!!!

Not sure if Rita & Bill were heading for home today or tomorrow. One way or the other, they'll be on the road for a couple of days.

Good luck with your home owner's meeting. I went to our neighborhood watch meeting last night. Our "rent-a-cop" was there to address the group about aggressive driving. Talk about an eager beaver!!! This guy gets his jollies ticketing everyone, preferably for multiple things. He said that's how he has "fun"!!::eek: Having come from a family of many policemen, all I can say is that this guy is one sick b*st*rd! Everyone thought he was too funny. I just sat there glaring at him shaking my head, and couldn't wait to get out of there. Definitely the type referred to when people say they dislike the police.

Yeah, I think that it's alergies for me too.......way too much fresh air in Nevada over the weekend.....never went in a casino the whole trip.

They are getting strick on what can and cannot be repaired in a tire......all you need is a hole in the side wall and it's new tire time.

Good morning! Oops ... Should have said good afternoon. Where the heck did the morning go??????

You're right, PH - It is a beautiful day out there. Not sure that opening windows is a good idea though. Everything here is still covered with pollen. The oak trees have shed their old leaves and the fresh new stuff is coming out. That's the cause of so many allergies this time of the year. Emily & Ethan both have ear infections due to allergies. I'm constantly bugging Kris to take them for allergy tests to see what the problem is, but she hasn't done it yet. Poor kids! As soon as I knew Gary had allergies, I had him tested and guess what - If he could eat it, touch it, or smell it, he was allergic to it!

Trivia was fun last night. We came in second!! Got a $15. gift card to the Grill ... YIPPY! There's some spending money for tonight!

Glad you're feeling better, San. So anything going on this weekend? After the craziness of last weekend, I'm looking forward to a nice quiet one this week. Only thing planned is to meet some friends tonight at the Grill for drinks. They have a DJ tonight. Just have to hope the guy doesn't crank up the music so much that you can't talk, I hate when that happens.

Think I'm going to grab my book and go sit outside for a while.

Hi (especially to the two SOTE posters).........:D

We left Venice early this morning and are now in Florence, SC. We'll be heading for Delaware tomorrow and hope to be home Sunday afternoon.........

Sorry to hear about some of you not feeling too well. Hope you feel better soon.

We were in Orlando Tuesday and Wednesday (thanks again, BB), but went to the Tampa casino on Wednesday, then to Venice on Thursday to visit friends, who took us to visit our money again (and leave another deposit).:X Even so, we had fun. I couldn't believe all the seniors there on Wednesday afternoon....at least until the busses left at 5! Thursday night was better...not so crowded, but those da** machines still took my money!

Ride today wasn't too bad. Our friends suggested we drive up 75 to 10, then over to 95, but our GPS had us go 75 to 4 to 95.
I need to know which way is better.........PH & BB any thoughts?

Florida weather was so nice. We got to Georgia and froze! It's actually warmer in SC than it was in Georgia, but neither is as warm as FL.......but I'm sure GA and SC are warmer than MA!

Time to finish my book and get ready for dinner. See you all later.

Rita

I asked Mr Walking Atlas(Dennis)hahah..............he said the shortest way would be 75 to 301 to 10 to 95.......

BUT if he had to pick outta your two options.................75 to 4 to95(only downside is traffic in Orlando)

Safe travels home.....

I just finishd cutting the grass for Dennis...............he hurt his back and I was being a good wife,.,.,.,.,.,.,.hahaha I also cleaned the pool today..........

That's ridiculous, 13 to 37 and then take the ferry. It will cut an hour off traveling time........................

OK, SotE #2 here.....Rita you didn't ask me, but I'm gonna tell you anyway: North on I75 to West I10.....when you get to US 101 head North to Gilroy........visit me.....then I'll put you on I80 East over the Sierra.....stop and see bOB....then continue East to someplace where you veer to the left and aim for Boston. Piece of cake.....you can't go wrong.

Ha Ha!!! That's too funny, bOB! Where the heck are you giving directions from?????? We used to do 75 to 301 to 10 to 295 to 95. How messed up is that? Actually 75 to 10 to 295 to 95 is the most direct and with the fewest traffic lights. 301 is ok, but you go through lots of little towns with speed traps.::eek: Bert is a glutton for punishment so he would go 301 to 10 to 295 to 95. I feel like I'm talking in code!!!:lol

Just got home from the Grill. Tonight was the "official" grand opening. Ended up with a raggae band plus a DJ. The raggae band was great and made us feel like we were on a cruise or in the Caribbean. They played all the stuff you usually head on the pool deck. Guy running the Grill was surprised that I knew most of the songs they played. I told him experienced cruisers know it all!!! I definitely hope they have that group again. DJ was too loud and his music stunk! Unfortunately, I think they were not checking IDs and there was a group of girls who should not have been getting served.(td)

So bOB, does the removal of our "Founding Member" titles have anything to do with the RC fiasco over on CC? I'm kinda missing being Elite.....I feel like such a commoner again:(

Come on, San - I'm sure bOB could give you the president of the SofE title, if he wanted to. Just think - Everyone would want to know what that us and how they can get to be members of such an EXCLUSIVE group!:thumb
