Sorry I never got to check in yesterday. Turned out to be a semi-busy day in between the raindrops. Missy left around 4, so Bert & I decided to head for the Grill. Boy, was that a mistake. I'm sorry, but this is the United States of America NOT the United States of PR! They were blasting Spanish music exclusively while we were there.:X We got so pi$$ed that we only stayed for half an hour and left half a pitcher of beer on the bar. Waitress wanted to know why we were leaving and we told her the music was awful and that rather than stay and have dinner there, we'd go somewhere where we felt more welcome. I told her not to bother telling her boss, because we'll do that on Wednesday or Thursday. I intend to really let him have it. Our Grill has been hijacked!!!!:X

It's already been raining here this morning. Guess it's going to be one of those kind of days. Glad I have nothing special planned.

Here's how it works - BMG will be doing their shows. They will also have something called Cirque Dreams & Dinner which I gather is a dining venue with Cirque entertainment. Check out http://q91zz.cruiseepic.com/ There's even a rendering of their Cirque show. I personally like the ice bar!:lol Of course, I thing the outside of the ship is weird looking, but that's just my take on it.

Well aren't you the man of many words today! If you don't say anything further, we're going to talk about cooking!:chef I've got oxtails and veggies going in the slow cooker all day. The smell is driving me crazy. It should be ready in about an hour and I can't wait to dig in.

Post soon, San, or I'll continue to talk about food ...

Because????? You got something against xxxxxxxx? Notice I didn't say what it was. By the way, they were delicious! Cooked with celery, carrots and potatoes with fresh rosemary, basil and mint. As Rachael Ray would say - YUMMO!!!

Think we're going to head down to Poinciana for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. We don't have any neat wine bars in this area, so I guess we have to settle for coffee!

I'm with you PH, on the ox*****. Can't imagine what they taste like, just the name is enough to make me not want them!

Sorry to hear about your problems at the Grille, BB. You are sure right in making your feelings known to the manager, but do you think it'll do any good?

Had to go to a wake tonight........mother in law of the agency owner passed away. Stopped for dinner on the way home at a different place (for us).......had fish, it was delicious, but noticed all the people getting pizzas. Pizzas looked great, but we were amazed that everyone at the table had their own pizza, and they were certainly big enough to share. As we left, we noticed the sign on the marquee "$2 Pizza on Monday", so now we know why everyone was having pizza. Place was too loud for me, though, even for $2 pizza.

Just under 6 weeks until we leave for London, but we'll be heading to Florida before that. Still trying to figure out when and for how long, but no idea as yet. I want at least 10 days at home before London, as I have lots to do. I also have a big group on the Jewel repo in October, and final payments will be due the middle of August, so I have to plan around that. Maybe I can just send Lisa (DD) with Bill and I can stay home. Works for me!

Oh you man of a few words.......I need an answer to my e-mail, so there!

Time to relax for a bit.

Rita

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oxtail (occasionally spelled ox tail or ox-tail) is the culinary name for the tail of a beef animal. Formerly, it referred only to the tail of an ox, a castrated bull. The oxtail of a steer typically weighs 2 to 4 lbs. (1-1.8 kg) and is skinned and cut into short lengths for sale.

Oxtail is a bony, gelatinous meat, and is usually slow-cooked, often stewed [1] or braised. It is a good stock base for a soup. Oxtail is the main ingredient of the Italian dish coda alla vaccinara. It is a popular flavour for powder, instant and premade canned soups in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

For those of you who are clueless, oxtails are actually pieces of beef tails that are cut into 3/4 to 1 1/2 inch pieces. It's beef you're eating, just called by another name. Guess in the good old days, they actually ate the tails of oxen, but these are from steers. You cook them for hours until the meat falls off the bones. They used to be a very, very cheap cut of meat. but not any longer. I could tell you more about cooking them, but I don't want you-know-who to have a hissy fit!

Man, there is NOTHING on TV tonight! Might have to curl up with a book when we get back from Starbucks. Boy, that would be different evening's entertainment.
