Good morning all you chatty people! Nice to see so many people posting here. That's much better than talking to yourself!!

Had a great trip up to NC. J&J said hi, PH & Rita. Got to see Sara, Brian & Mallorie Friday night (dinner ... our treat!) and again on Sunday for a BBQ with J&J's kids and grandkids. Throw in a wine tasting Saturday night with 2 other couples and you have our weekend in a nutshell. Only downside was that it went by too quickly.

Rita - FYI there was one "buttery" wine!
So are you getting that stuff in the suitcase yet? You better get a move on!!!

By the time we got home yesterday I was so tired. Probably didn't help that Joanne & I stayed up Sunday night until about 3 and we had to get up at 7. Made for a very long day yesterday!

Time to get the laundry done and get back to the regular routine.

Sounds like another fun filled weekend..........

wanted to tell you, my neighbors pool is filled and they were swimming in it over the weekend........that water must had been COLD...........but I dont understand..........no screen enclosure(yet--they'd be crazy not to have one)....no fenced in yard....no baby fence................HUH???? We have a fenced in yard and had it enclosed and had to have the baby fence too(even though we didnt even have little ones)............wish I could find out what the code is nowadays............

Welcome home BB...sounds like a terrific weekend!! I bet Mallorie is really getting big now!

Ph, Actually my boss's next cruise is Oct. 12th...they will be gone when I get back from mine..
We have 8 people going on Enchanment...my sisters, Darlene, my parents & my niece & her friend...it's the friends 1st cruise so should be fun...

Can't believe your neighbors are getting away with not having a fence...I thought for sure that was the "least" requirement...

I couldn't imagine having a pool in a neighborhood without it being enclosed. I'm sure there is an ordinance with the requirements, no matter who the people are. We have our open lake here, but still pools have to be enclosed in a screen enclosure with handle to open screen door 6 feet high. You also must have the child guard around the poor, whether you have children or not. I'd check into that one further, PH.

Neighbor's pool just got the cool deck stuff sprayed on it today. I guess the screen enclosure will go up in a day or 2.

KC - Sounds like you're in for a lot of fun on your cruise with that gang.

Mallorie is getting so big and funny. She had spaghetti the other night and ate it one strand at a time. She also shared a canoli (sp?) and ice cream with grandpa. He couldn't feed it to her fast enough, so she ate the ice cream with her fingers. The restaurant we go to up there has a piano player every night. Mallorie made it a point to take each of us by the hand to the piano, so she could put a tip in the piano player's jar. He must have loved having her there that night!
Saturday Mallorie had to be at the photographer's studio for a photo shoot for a barrette company. They picked her out of the photographer's album. Her payment was - - - She got to keep 1 barrette! Last of the big sports, if you ask me!!

Hi All,

BB, Welcome home.....glad you had a nice time and had some buttery wine.....

Kasey, nice to see you here.

PH, we leave Sunday for London, then the cruise starts Wednesday. We'll be gone 15 days, then I'm home for 8, then off to FL for the EN with the girls. When I get home from the EN, we'll have about a month before the Jewel repo and the 3 night cruise following that. Oh, BTW, prices on the Jewel 3 day have come down quite a bit. Take a peek......you too BB.

talk with you all later.....of to our last night of cribbage....glad it's over, I'm tired of getting my a** kicked!

Rita - I am so jealous of all the traveling and cruising you're going to be doing in the next couple of months. Lucky you!!!!

PH - Play dumb and call a pool company like you want to biuld a pool. Ask them if a screen enclosure is required in Marion County. They should tell you.

By the way - What gives with my dear (?) brother these days? I see he posts on another thread here on CA, but he never stops by here. What's up with that? I'm afraid that at his advanced age he tends to forget things ... like where his friends are. It's sad when you see that happen, but in his case, it could be worse. I've heard that when he goes ATVing with his gang, they have to tie a line to him to keep him from wandering off. That's so depressing.:bawl:

Time to relax for a bit.

OK, here I am, another day in my exciting life.

Clothes are just about ready to go in the suitcase, and I am trying so hard to limit what I'm taking, but given the temperature differences, I'm kind of having a hard time. Need gloves, hats, scarves for Iceland and possibly Ireland, sweatshirts and windbreakers, so that takes up a lot of room. Oh well, at least I'm trying. Not too many shoes this time. Good things no luggage costs for international flights!

Sad day for Massachusetts.......our senior senator has passed away. It's a surprise he lasted as long as he did. One of the nurses who treated him at Cape Cod hospital is a friend of mine and she didn't think he would last till this past January, so he did put up a good fight. No matter what you thought of his political beliefs, he was a good senator for Massachusetts, and he'll be missed greatly.

Looks life the transatlantic is sold out........nothing was available as of last night. My RCI person is still looking for a last minute cancellation for us to get an upgrade, but I don't have high hopes. Last year we got a GS right before the cruise, so it can happen.

Bill is babysitting DS's kids, so I have some ME time! Doesn't happen too often these days, but he's babysitting again tomorrow!

Off to do something......don't know what, cause it's ME TIME!!!!!

Nice to see that this board is back up and running. I was in withdrawal earlier when I couldn't get on!

Rita - I'm sure there are some difficult days ahead up your way with the death of Senator Kennedy. And as you said, even if you didn't agree with him, you have to admit that he was a good senator.
Glad you're getting your act together with the packing, Rita. It's almost time to go!!! Wish we couldn have done it this year, but unfortunately, it was not in the cards for us this time. Oh well.

Not a lot going on around here today. Bert's going for a haircut, so I guess I'll get a little bit of ME TIME too today!

Well, I am a happy camper. My daughter and husband just signed up for a cruise on the Monarch for October, and my husband agreed for us to go also. I am very happy, because I wasn't sure we would be able to take another one any time soon ( business has been slooooow.) We were looking at the Jewel, and they have a good price on it now for the three day, but, it was so close to our free cruise on the Oasis, that we had second thoughts---but now----I am happy :)-----gotta love cruising! Just give me a ship and I will enjoy it!

Hi all.........

Tried earlier to get on,but no luck..........then I had to follow Dennis over to Freightliner..........he needed a repair which he estimated to be about $200...but now they found more and its gonna cost a thousand more than that................and last week tires cost us $1500...........this is not good......with business slow and all.........hes trying to get this all figured out..its not like we have a money tree.........that was shaken clean long ago..........anyway,not to be depressing

I tell her speaking & she tells me she's from the U.S Government & wants to know if I received my payment of $12,750...I laughed & said...yeah right.. and proceeded to tell her she was calling a business & I didn't know what she was talking about...she said they have no way to tell if it's a business or residence, but she has to verify I received my payment of $12,750... I told her I wasn't interested in whatever Scam she was running & hung up on her...iOf course when I did *69 the number wasn't available...

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the truck woes, PH, that really su**s. Maybe casey can loan you some of her new found fortune. That sure was a strange call.

Sorry Janet you won't be joining us on the Jewel, but I wish I had a free cruise on Oasis. Still waiting to see....

Me time was spent in the pool with the grandkids, then off to finish up planning clothes for the cruise. Saw that the weather is London and France should be pretty nice, but the crossing will probably be on the cool side. As long as there aren't any hurricanes, cool is OK. Not too happy about TS Danny which is headed our way for Saturday and Sunday Ourflight is 9 a.m. and I don't relish the thought of flying out in bad weather, but nothing I can do about it. Lots can happen between now and Sunday a.m. At least we have a couple of days to play with if the flights are delayed. The three other couples going with us have never been to London, so I hope they get the three days there and no delays. Doesn't bother us too much, we've been there a couple of times and really don't have anything special planned. Others have trips to Buckingham Palace, rides on the London Eye and using the HOHO bus. We'll just play it by ear, maybe try getting theater tickets for Jersey Boys or Wicked at the half price booths.....we'll see what we feel like doing.

Nothing on TV here except Senator Kennedy. Lots of sad people and lots of tributes placed at the Kennedy Library. Bill is going to go to the Library on Friday to pay his respects. Funeral on Saturday in Boston and then burial in Arlington Saturday afternoon.....sure hope the rains hold off.

time to say goodnight.....see you all in the a.m.

Rita
