Good morning! Lazy morning around here right now. I guess I'm going to have to get my act together sooner or later, right?
I'm trying to decide if I want to take Bert out for lunch, dinner or neither for his B-day. Do you think 10 hot wings at the Grill would make him happy? :scratch: I might have to give this more thought.

Rita - I hope that storm doesn't mess up your leaving for London. Looks like it might come through your way around Sat. night or Sun. morning. What time is your flight?

KC - I could have used a cookie this morning too. How good is you throwing arm? Think you could pitch one down this way? Seeing as how that's not going to happen, I guess I should see if there's anything else to have with coffee around here. I would LOVE a really GOOD bagel. Can you believe there isn't anywhere in kiss-my-ssa that has good bagels? Publix, WalMart, Panera ... They don't cut it. I want a bagel from a REAL bagel place. Might have to take a trip to Orlando later fot find some!

Lobster or something.....:clapagree about lack of bagels--sure enjoyed them when I went to NYC last year---that and the pizza............AND the dirty water dogs........AND the hot pretzels--hehe) Yea,nothing like NY food.........

Jeez Rita.............sure hope Danny doesnt effect your flight............isnt it something the two storms BOTH headed to the NE instead of FL???

Hi,

Fall has dropped into NE today. Supposed to be in teh 50's by tomorrow morning.....quite a change for us.

Our flight is 9 a.m. Sunday. Danny is supposed to be here Friday nite, Saturday and Saturday night, with just a few showers forecast for Sunday morning. They expect it to pick up speed as it gets to the NC coast, so we'll just have to wait and see.

I weighed the garment bag (empty) and it weighs 18 lbs.....doesn't leave a lot of room for clothes. Packed it with all our hanging stuff, and it only weighed around 34 lbs, so we are good to go. Still can stuff more things in there

Trying to tie us lose ends in the office and around the house. Paid all the FL house bills yesterday and today, so things are getting organized.

Just watched Senator Kennedy's hearse and motorcade come up from Cape Cod and head into Boston for the memorial service. President Obama is coming into Boston tomorrow (instead of Saturday) for the memorial service because of Danny. All local TV stations are showing Kennedy coverage non-stop, but you would be surprised at the numbers of people standing by the side of the highway, and all the people waiting for the motorcade to arrive in Boston. Quite a tribute.

Special treatment, Rita? He got hot dogs for lunch, which he grilled. Dinner tonight will be either pizza at the Grill, if it doesn't rain, or Chinese take-out, if it does rain. Oh yeah - His present from me ... a giant bag of Skittles!!!:clap: At his age, you have to keep it low key!!!!!LOL

You got one right - Had to have coffee and read the paper before getting on here.

Dinner last night ended up being Chinese take-out. The DJ scheduled for the Grill was canceled. I have no idea why outside of why would you have a DJ on a Thursday night from 8-11 at a place that you have hardly any customers????? You didn't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that this was not going to work!
K&G came over with the kids. They brought a birthday cake and card, plus a bag of seeds for Bert to feed to the birds. They're also taking us out for dinner tomorrow night to celebrate Bert's birthday. Hmmm ... All I got was a lousy, sarcastic 99 cent card for my b-day. Guess I don't rate!

PH - Forgot to mention yesterday that I talked to Caroline. She told me that 2 staff members (a TA & kindergarten teacher) from Romeo passed away last week. I can't believe I had to hear about this via my NC connection.

Rita - Just in case I don't catch up with you later, you can Bill have a safe flight on Sunday. Enjoy your time in London and have a wonderful cruise. I'll be thinking of you ... I'm so jealous.

Good morning,

Just returned from a mani and pedi, so I'm good to go (at least my nails are).

Bill went up to the Kennedy Library last night and waited over 3 hours in line, but he said it was quite an experience. Members of the Kennedy family came thru the line and thanked everyone for coming. He didn't get home until almost midnight, but he was glad he went.

Still sunny here, but lots of rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow, sure hope it's all gone by Sunday at 9. Looks like a full plane on Sunday, just a few middle seats left. At least we are in the 2 part of the 2-3-2 seat configuration!

BB, maybe you should return the favor, and just bring a card for their birthdays.......they always come for dinner anyway.

Is the Grille not attracting the customers it used to? Perhaps the newbies don't want to spend any money for food?

Rita - Glad your fingers and toes are ready for vacation! Now it's time to get everything in between ready.

The Grill has changed so much due to the guy running it. He's pi$$ed off customers who won't come back. He only has a beer & wine license, so he lost customers there. Food is typical BBQ (wings, ribs, hamburgers, fries, etc) and has gotten very old quickly, so people get sick of the food and don't come back. His prices on some stuff is ridiculous (rack of ribs with nothing else is $22.!) He only has 1 woman waiting on tables and she's as slow as all get out. She definitely is not a waitress. Bert and I haven't been going on weekends anymore as they blast music to attract non-English speaking residents. We walked out one day. I told the boss the following week and he said he would talk to his weekend staff. Well, guess what - We tried again the following Sunday and it was the same thing. We didn't even both going in and just came home. Now that school is open, he won't get people coming from the pool during the day either. All in all, we're ready for him to fail, so they can get someone else in there. Now that I wrote a book here, aren't you glad you asked?:wild:

Oh..did I forget to mention I have a dog???:whistle: Actually I am just dog sitting for my Dad while he is in Ohio..I've had her since the 6th of August & they will be back around the middle of Sept... she's a Doberman/doxin mix..stays outside on the pool deck & back yard..she's a good dog.. well..except for tearing a hole in my screen door cause she wanted on the porch... I was afraid to leave her on the porch alone cause of the pool..she's only about a ft. tall with tiny little legs..we put her out in the yard & shut the door...when I came home that night she was back on the porch..she had torn about a 10 hole in my screen...I would have loved to have seen her wiggle thru that hole though...I have a panel about 8" high on the bottom of the door..watching her get her fat little butt over that must have been a site..I'm going to try & pawn one of my inside cat's off on my dad now too... the cat thinks she is a dog too & just LOVES Dee-Dee..I don't think it's right to seperate such good friends...

Thanks for explaining that..........too bad you dont have a baby fence for the pool.........we do(had no choice at the time).........keeps my dogs from falling in the water when I take them out at night and its soooooooo dark........

I think your dad taking a cat would make a very good deal............

Off to bealls(need a couple of tall mugs) and then walmart...........Matts coming next week and I dont have any extra pillows........dont have overnight guests much.

Might go to KFC and redeem my coupon for a free meal.......not my fav place,but the price is right............:wild:

OH btw-neighbors are getting an enclosure.......the workers are there right now doing that............still dont think the pool should had been filled till then,but what do i know???????????

Guy next door is getting pi$$ed. They haven't showed up to do his screen enclosure yet. I can hear him in my house when he's ranting and raving at the company.

KC - Thanks for explaining about the pooch. Thought for a while you had gone over to the "woof side"!
I keep debating with myself as to whether to get another Siamese kitten. One side of me wants one, but the other side keeps asking why I want to deal with a pet again. I just can't win the argument with myself!!!

Home from my running around..........struck out with most things I wanted..........I need more tall mugs(latte size,I guess)Only have 4 now and seems they are always in the dishwasher.............tried to find some to match my fiestaware at Bealls..........no luck..........not even a cheap imitation..........none at walmart either...........maybe I'll have luck at B,B and B..........

Had my free lunch at KFC and for once it was really good.....think cuz it was lunch time so everything was fresh.............have one more free coupon to use up by Monday.............

It is a tough call with pets,BB......not so bad if you have someone to watch them while you're gone........I LOVE my dogs but its a pain and expense boarding them.......and if we're gone for just a day,gotta have the inlaws come over to let them out..........

The good thing about cats is that as long as you leave them plenty of food and water plus a clean litter box, they are good for a few days. Dogs are much more of a problem.

Struck out at BINGO tonight. I didn't even get close. No one wanted to go to the Grill tonight, so I'm home real early. That's okas I'm kind of tired tonight. I wonder if I'll make it for the shuttle launch, if it goes tonight.
