I feel so, so sorry for you KC. It's also sad that making the right choice, like you did for Buddy, brings a price of guilt too. Making that choice is never ever easy. But where he's at now he feels no pain or fear. My heart goes out to you.

Good hearing from you Bill. You and Rita have sure had a tough go of it lately. But once Rita is released from the rehab facility you can comfortably settle in to your new home. And try not to be pack-rats again.

Nothing much to report on the lady behind us's porch, K2. High activity has slowed down. And we're still not sure of where it goes from this point. Screened in or glassed in? Don't know. Or is she just going to leave this space wide open. It looks kinda big from down here, and the shingle roof has the same angle of slope as the rest of the house. The height under this "porch" is quite high since from the house you have to go down 3 steps.

The sun and summer temperatures are back for a while. I wonder if our next door neighbors will be in their pool this weekend.

Hi BB & Lee! what were you guys up to yesterday?

Yup my heart doctor put me on a new blood thinner yesterday. (Figured he would.) And now he's planning on shocking my heart to get the beat to stabilize back to normal, in the next few weeks. At least I'll be knocked out when he does it. My A-Fib goes wild once in a while causing me to be short of breath. I can be just sitting in a chair watching the boob-tube and my heart will go off on a goofy rhythm having me gasping for air.

Lee: You never miss a clue. “Shocking”! Ha ha. Another could have been “ Sparky”!
It couldn’t be any nicer out here on our deck this morning. No lawnmowers (yet) a breeze and sunny. Occasional airplane flying by. Only better place would be on the shire of LONGBOAT KEY right now! Hey, I can dream.

Our wonderful Electric Power company has decided to INCREASE the cost of power used during the peak hours of the morning and day by 50%!
They suggested not washing clothes and using your dryer in those posted hours and same with dishwashers and air conditioners. I have our dehumidifier on in the basement to keep it nice and dry. I’m not turning that unit off. It pumps out all kinds of moisture. I’ll deal with the increase.

I think our Orioles moved on to a better location. :( I miss watching them at the feeder.
Sure hope things turn around for the better for Bill & Rita. What a year for both of them. And to think they SOLD their condo and bought a new single family home and Rita wasn’t around to direct any of the packing or moving. Wow. They certainly have FANTASTIC CHILDREN and grandkids. :emoticon 0152 heart:

Lee: Tine to talk to the doctor about your poor sleeping situation. You need to get a handle on this. Wonder if you’re lacking some type of vitamin. Low Iron, B12, Magnesium? Can’t hurt to ask.

Okay I’m out of here for now. Have a good day all.

Checking in from muggy Belleview!

Pat, hope all is well with you....I didn't see a post from you yesterday...not like you to not post...

Bill, nice to have an update from you...prayers still going out for Rita to make a full recovery & be home soon....glad the kids got you all moved & settled in for now!

Kathie, sorry to hear the knee brace caused you so many problems..just keep a close eye that it doesn't get infected or anything!

Lee, I agree with Kathie...time to talk to the Dr. or therapist or someone about your sleep issues....your body needs rest to be able to finish healing!

Dave, hope the new blood thinners & the heart zap help control the heart rhythm...my Dad had to have that done after his pacemaker was installed...

Thanks for the kind words regarding Buddy....it was not unexpected...but still a hard choice to make....he was a sweet boy & I'm just sorry he didn't get to be with us longer...
Today was my last day of feeding Sparkplug...he freaked me out a little today...usually he comes out in the yard to meet me when I get there & call for him...today I called & called & no Sparkplug...got to the back porch & still no dog...heading for the kitchen & he finally comes wandering back from the front family room...I thought for sure he'd wandered off & gotten picked up by the dog catcher or something...
Amanda & Co are supposed to be coming over later to swim & then fix taco's for supper...who knows for sure what time they will actualy show up....they definitely move at their own pace!
We've finally had a couple good rains here so I won't have to water my grass for a while....now I think I'll find a book & relax on the porch for a little while....catch up with you all tomorrow!

What happened from my post from yesterday? Once again the cyber gremlins ate it, I guess.

Karen - So sorry about Buddy. You are a good pet mom and did what had to be done, no matter how painful it was for you. Glad Amanda & company made it to Florida safely and are now getting to enjoy our warmth. I'm not going to say weather, as that's just hit and miss the last few days. We hit torrential rain in Orlando yesterday where you could hardly see out he window. Rained all the way to within a mile of our place and here they got no rain at all! Where we were in Orlando got over 4 1/2 inches of rain yesterday!!

Bill _ So glad you posted. I've tried a couple of times to call Rita, but she hasn't answered. I also sent her an email, but I guess she's not checking that stuff right now. Nice that the kids and grandkids were able to help you with your move to the new house. Now the fun of finding a place for everything begins!

Lee - Sorry you're still having sleeping issues. Definitely might want to check that out with your doctor to see if that's normal and if he can give you something to help you sleep.

Dave - A new blood thinner and a shocking experience. Wow! You are really living in the fast lane these days for sure!! Enjoy your nice warm weather and spying on your neighbors. LOL

Kathie - That really stinks what the electric company is doing to you, but they can and you can't do anything about it. They used to do that to us up in NJ. During the summer months the electric rate went up and then once it got cool, the gas rate went up. You just couldn't win!

Not a lot going on around here this weekend. We're just being a couple of old folks at home. Now if the rain stays away, I might get to sit out on the lanai, if everything isn't all wet.

Laundry is calling me, so I better get a move on for now. Have a great afternoon, everyone. :)

Temps HIT 90F and might go even higher as the sun is still out there big time.

Only thing I did so far today was sit out on the deck this morning. I actually managed to put a coat of NAIL POLISH on my finger nails! Haven’t had polish on my nails is over a year if not longer!

Then I drove 3 blocks to the flower nursery and bought Art a small container of Cucumber starter plants. He thinks the first ones he planted got a hit of the weed killer from the lawn fertilizer guy.

Stopped off at the Veggie Mkt and stocked up on some salad greens, etc. Going to be eating a lot of salads with the extreme heat we will have this next week.
We need a new grill. I just heard on the radio that the GRILL MFGRS are working 24/7 to keep up with demand for new grills.
For now I just use a sheet of ALUM FOIL to avoid the bad grill racks. Works for me.

Dave:
I hope the new meds help control your AFib until you get that procedure done. Other than my FEET BEING SWOLLEN I’m good with what heart meds I’m on now.

Need to get dinner started over here. Chalupa’s. Found a recipe online and bought everything I need to make them for us.

Right now the Ladies Golf on TV is putting me to sleep! Very relaxing watching golf on TV.

Later gang ….

Time to say good night here. We had a lazy sort of day and right now I'm waiting for Bert to bring back pizza for us to have for dinner. Once my belly is full, I will be ready to go to sleep!! Might do Brunch tomorrow morning. Just depends on what time we get up.

Have a wonderful evening, gang, and sleep well (especially you, Lee!) See you sometime tomorrow. :)

Good Morning Bunnies!

I agree with my fellow Bunnies Lee, if you haven't already mentioned your difficulty with sleeping to your doctor, now is the time to do so.

Not much to gab about. Another nice and toasty day with lots of sunshine yesterday as it will be today.

For the first time in over a year 2 of our granddaughters came over yesterday. 8 & 10. And we could actually see them with no masks involved. They built and painted 2 new birdhouses from kits we had gotten. Kathi will be hanging them from trees in the back today since the paint is now dried. Since they were put together with screws this time, nothing got nailed to the dining room table.
1f601.png

I'd forgotten how much energy kids that age have. They were here for just over 2 hours, but by the time Kathi took them home I WAS WHOOPED. So I took a nap.

Today I need to pick up my new prescription, then maybe weed. Thanks to Kathi asking for samples I was given a months supply of the new blood thinner for free. I'll take it!

Good Sunday Morning Wrabbits. 75 degrees already and only going to get hotter. BRING IT ON Mother Nature. Coffee & a English Muffin out on the deck. Perfect temp out here and we have been BLESSED WITH NO HUMIDITY THE PAST 2 days. What a relief.

Dave/Kathi: How nice to do a couple of bird house projects with the 2 kids. And there’s nothing wrong with taking a NAP. Just wish I could do that. My Grandfather use to be able to sit in his favorite huge cozy chair and snore away after working around outside. Miss that guy!
And Kathi is my HERO for ASKING FOR SAMPLE MEDS. Hey, all they can say is NO we don’t have any. :emoticon 0111 blush:

Lee: You’ll be happy to know I watched the clock slowly spin around late into the morning. Took a water pill yesterday and it kicked in around 1:00 am, 2:30, 3:30, etc. etc. At least my feet aren’t as swollen this morning.
Now if I could only fix the Ache where the knee brace did some kind of damage I’d be fine. Need to do some google exploring on nerve or tendon damage.
That’s it for me for now.

Karen check out the picture of you and me together by your condo pool. It popped up on my FBook page this morning.
Have fun with the family today.

Later gang. Enjoy the day.

Good afternoon....no clue where the morning has gone by already but it sure has!!

Kathie, I remember that picture....I think it was taken 2 yrs ago last March...you & Art had stopped by on your way to your rental on the gulf...

Dave, I wish there were a way to bottle some of the energy ki ds seem to have...it would be worth a fortune! Sounds like they had a fun time though & that's what counts!

Pat, hate when a post goes missing...generally it's my fault... I think I am going to enjoy a rather lazy day here myself...might even head to the pool before the rains move in!

Lee, thinking of you & hope you get some answers to your sleep issue...

Amanda & Co made it over yesterday afternoon....we only got about 45 mins. in the pool before the skies opened up....we stayed in the pool for a little while longer & then it started rumbling so we got out....waited at the clubhouse for a little while to see if it would quit but it wasn't slowing down at all...so we headed back to my house & Amanda, Samantha & Alyse took over my kitchen to make the taco's...they were sure good...but those 3 are some messy cooks! Barb left around 8 and Amanda, Leon, the girls & Jane didn't leave till after 10...and by then it was raining again....after they left I cleaned up the kitchen & finally called it a night about 11:30...taking a break the next couple days & then Tues. my brother & his wife will be here & we are planning a get together with them, Amanda's family, my sisters & Samantha & her sister as a early birthday party for Sam....they had planned to swim & then come back to my house to grill out a bunch of food....I told Jane today that I think it would be a better idea to pick up some Publix fried chicken, some salads, watermelon and a fruit/veggie tray and take it all to the clubhouse instead of trying to cook at my house again....with all the rain we've been having there is no guarantee we'd be able to cook out anyhow.... we'll see if the rest of the gang agrees to the change in plans...now I think I plan to relax on the back porch for a while...enjoy the day all!

Good afternoon, gang! Just got back a little while ago from the Sunday brunch at the Grille. Boy, was it crowded! Now I can see why reservations are necessary. We had our usual table near where the food is set up and close to the bar area. Our friends we went with complain that when they are there alone, they get ignored. Well they sure can't say that about today. Our community manager made many stops at our table and even got me my food while Bert was getting his eggs. The assistant manager kept stopping by to make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely first class service considering how crowded the place was. We didn't want to eat outside today, as it was already 90 and we would have been in the sun.

Karen - Sounds like you are getting lots of family time this week. That's great, even if they are messy in the kitchen. It's the memories you're creating that counts. Your idea of fried chicken sounds like a great way to celebrate more family time.

Dave - Nice that the grandkids stopped by to make bird houses. Ours all outgrew that stage and now are totally into electronics. Bummer. I used to like to see them assemble those kits. And yes, kids are loud and loaded with energy. A nap would definitely be in order.

You said "Today I need to pick up my new prescription, then maybe weed." Which do you recommend taking first - the new meds or the weed? LOL Good for Kathi suggesting trial meds for free. I make sure I get some every time I go to the lung doctor. Anytime I can keep a week or a month away from the donut hole is a good thing!!

Kathie - Glad you had perfect weather to sit outside for breakfast this morning. So did you take that ride to the lake? Sorry you're still having problems with the sore the brace caused. Are you using an antibiotic cream on it to keep it from getting infected?

Lee - OK It's time for you to come out of hiding and post here. You're not allowed to disappear without telling us why. SO snap to it, young man!!

Time for me once again to run. Bert just told me he has a list of places he wants to stop at. He can always think of somewhere he needs to go!! Be good and I'll try to stop back later. :)

We didn't make it to Lake St Clair Pat.....but we passed by WATER in Mt Clemens. Went to watch my Niece (grown lady) play Softball. She was so surprised to see us. She's a good hitter. Like Art said has a great stance for slugging that softball.
After that we drove back through Mt Clemens and stopped by a very OLD Country Grocery/Creamery place and got some MILLER's ICE CREAM. Goodness, it has to be the BEST Ice Cream in town. We use to go there when we lived at our 1st house with our neighbors all the time. They almost had to close up, but the neighbors in that area love that corner store/creamery so much they started a GoFundMe acct and it saved the place.

Pat: No need to worry about infections on the sore leg from that stupid brace. It's all internal. I have a black & Blue mark on the outside, but no skin is broken. Just hurts. I'll make sure the TECH at the hospital takes a good picture of it when I go for the MRI at the end of the week. I just want to be able to walk normal again. I use the RICE method: Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevation. Also, used the Ten's machine on it to get blood circulation to the area. The original issue I had that the doctor gave me the Cortisone shot for is fine so far. Lucky, me ends up with a totally different issue. Ticks me off.

Karen: Your schedule is crazy busy. Glad you get to rest today. And it's amazing how OTHER PEOPLE in YOUR kitchen can make a mess. Duh!

Lee: I hope all is good over your way and you're staying cool. Sitting on those bleachers watching that softball game sure made it HOT HOT HOT. I'm not good in heat unless I'm in the water! Take care.

Dave: Hope you're having a good day. How's that A-Fib doing today. I thought of you as I filled my PILL HOLDER for the week. I take 9 pills in the morning and 3 at night (if I remember)! If I had to rely on taking pills in order NOT TO DIE.....I would be DEAD GONE by now. I'm not a good pill taker.

Ended up taking a ride this afternoon. Bert said that he's in training for the drive to NC next week. Today was kind of a rough day for me as far as breathing. Used a lot of oxygen. That really stinks when that happens.

Now it's time to settle down on the couch and maybe find something to watch on TV. Mind you, we have all kinds of services on the TV out on the lanai, but Bert isn't interested in any of them unless it's a cop/type show. Drives me nuts!!

Have a good evening, gang, and I'll see ya tomorrow somewhere along the line. :)

Good Sunday evening friends!
I have a conference call with one of the cardiologist’s on Thursday. I know I can call Dr Silvaggio any time. She has said that more than once. There are so many side effects from this procedure that it’s crazy. But you know what? Better the known side effects than not being here at all!
We’ve been up early to get the pups to The Navy Yard before it gets too warm. Which, with the humidex, it has been for a couple of days.
Dave, Afib continues to be a concern for me too! My watch tells me that about once a day. The surgeon told me if that happens to have a cool drink of water and relax for about 20 minutes. I hope they can get yours under control!
We took a drive along the river today too Kathie. Hard to believe next weekend is the Indy car race on Belle Isle. We’ll be able to hear it but can’t cross to see it. We had delicious ice cream at Ernie and Rusty’s Ice Cream Bar in Windsor. Now, you get that leg of yours feeling better.

I need to pick up my new prescription, then maybe weed.
Hmmm. Dave, maybe I need to try some “weed” to relax and help me sleep.
Pat, on one of our cruises our waiter was constantly at our table to gab with us. Nice as it was we sometimes couldn’t enjoy our meal because he was always there. We have a list of places we’d like to go too. Once the places reopen. Sorry to hear about your oxygen consumption.
Karen, I’m picturing a Hallmark movie with everyone working away in your kitchen and you are left to clean up the mess. I like your Publix Chicken, salads and the such idea for a meal at the clubhouse.
When I was up at some ungodly hour this morning the AC kicked on. It was over 70F at 1:45am. We went from jeans and jackets to shorts and t-shirts over night. Same for tonight and tomorrow with possible thunder storms.
I’ll see you all tomorrow.
Be good and stay safe!

Monday awaits us Bunnies!

So nice seeing you pop on here yesterday evening, Lee. Always nice to get updates on your progress. I'll tell you one thing; If weed was legal in Ohio I'd probably partake in it once in a while. From what I understand, the percentage of seniors that use it is pretty close the percentage of the younger crowd.

K2; I've got a feeling you beat everyone else in taking 12 pills a day. On the new prescription I picked up yesterday I was shocked that the cash price of it is a little over $550 a month. Thank God I've got insurance, it only cost me $41. Sure hope your sore leg gets figured out.

Good thinking KC in choosing prepared food from Publix. (Anything to keep your kitchen clean.) Hope that your lazy day by yourself yesterday stayed that way.

I don't know for sure BB, but I'm guessing that high humidity doesn't do your breathing any favors. When you go places in your car do always carry along that small portable oxygen machine, just in case? I probably would.

Never did get to my weeding yesterday. It was just too damn hot to, by the time I thought to go outside. Plus it was constant bright sunshine. Stayed in the air conditioning and replaced the water filter for the house which is down in the basement. Took less than 5 minutes. Then we watched a World War 2 submarine move.

Maybe today I'll get to the weeding. It's all a hands and knees job since I won't use any weed killer in that area because it's Fuzzbutt's area. It'll be warm but a bit cloudy and nowhere near 90 degrees.

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits. Another HOT one on the books for today. Heck, for the entire week.
Karen we could use some of your RAIN here in Michigan. The water levels are dropping fast. Last year the people living by the lakes had no problem with water and getting into their boats from their docks. This year they have to jump into the boats.

DAVE: Love the song/video. You come up with the most appropriate tunes for us. Thanks.
I like the hint about drinking some COOL WATER and resting for 20 mins. I don't get AFib much anymore..... as long as I take my bills! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

So I was outside EARLY to beat the heat and sunshine watering and putting some liquid Miracle Grow on my flowers. Got to the front of the house and saw this HUGE HOLE right in the middle of my Waxed Begonias. Well, at first I thought it was a Rabbit digging a nest. I called Art off of the deck to look at it. He knew right away what it was!
When I was planting my "posies" I must have cut into a sprinkler line. YUP, little old me making work for the Hubby. Art turned that Zone on and YUP it was GUSHING. Good thing he said it isn't a big deal to fix it. Whew! Nice to have a handyman for a husband.

Okay, I came inside to catch a break. Need to go put some Liquid Miracle grown on the garden veggies.

Lee: Nice that you guys got out to Navy Yard early. Even at a early morning hour it's still hot out there. Do you get to see many Freighters pass by when you're out by the water. We need to drive up to Port Huron/Sanilac area to the point and look for some freighters. I think they have a chart as to when they pass that area. Need to do a google search so not to waste our GAS money on missing them.

Pat: Do I dare ask if Cappi is still around? Have a good day over your way. Hope you can get a break from COOKING this week.

Today will be a Veggie/Orzo type cold salad dinner. I might thaw a piece of chicken and grill it and chop it up, but it just depends on my mood. Ha Ha I'm going to be digging out EASY, LIGHT recipes for this week. And SOUP will be on the menu too. My grandmother always made us soup when it was hot outside. She told us after you eat it you'll feel cooler. RIGHT GRANNY.....they use to tell us all kinds of weird stories to get us to eat what they made. Ha Ha.

Good morning, everyone. Another hot one here today also.

Karen - I saw on the weather map that you were getting soaked yesterday. We didn't get a drop of rain all day. It was just hot and sticky outside. So did you get your Publix fried chicken and salads? If so, I hope everyone enjoyed them.

Dave - I'm sure this humidity isn't helping my breathing and yes, I do take oxygen with me these days just in case. We will be taking that plus the continuous flow one for overnights with us on our journey to NC. I have more crap that will have to come with us. I just hope I don't forget anything. Don't you love it when your insurance picks up the bulk of the cost of the rip off meds? No excuse for meds in this country to cost that much, but that's another soapbox I don't feel like getting on right now.

Kathie - Good that you got some watering done before it got too hot. Nice that Art can fix your sprinkler head. Bert has to do them here often when the landscapers break them because they mowed over them. He has it down to a science and can fix one so quickly. Better than having the sprinkler company here do it. They charge something like $90 for each one they replace!

Lee - Glad you made it out early today with the pups.

Daughter just pulled in the driveway, so I better get off here for now. She had dropped off the kids earlier unbeknownst to me. When I came out of the bedroom, I had to kids sitting in the family room. M&J were meeting with their contractor this morning to go over a few things.

Later, gang ... :)

Popping by to say "High". Not a reference to Dave's "weeding".
I had a phone call with the urologist this morning. We're both perplexed with my PSA numbers. The heart thing can cause a real spike and that's what we're hoping is the cause. No other ominous symptoms at this point. Still, he wants to see me for an exam. Oh, the joys! I think Dr. Tom had smaller fingers. Or was that Dr. Silvaggio, our family doctor? Ya, I bet it was her.
Two kids in the house must have been quite the surprise
Pat! Aren't you glad that you didn't think "I'll just run to the fridge for a glass of water" wearing only your delicate ladies under things!! o_O I hope that the air clears and you can breathe easier. Missy and Jimmy must be so excited watching their home be built.
I have an app on my phone Kathie for the ships in the river. If I zoom out I can see what's coming up or down river, the name, port and destination. The water was so blue yesterday it was simply stunning! So, do you have a secret list of "things to keep Art busy" stashed away somewhere? At least you didn't fire up the sprinklers and do a lot of damage to your garden! Your simple dinner selections sound great!
Great Jimmy Cliff tune Dave! Funny story about "weed". We keep CBD oil on hand for Bear and his thunder phobia. CBD with a very, very low concentration of THC is about $18 - $23 for a 30 mil bottle. Bacon or chicken flavoured CBD oil specifically for pets is about $100 for a 30 mil bottle. Anyway, the other day I had to go to the Amherstburg Cannabis Company for more for Bear. The young fella, Ryan, who is usually there wasn't and I was dealing with a young gal. They were out of Bear's usual stuff so I told her what I needed and why. I'm still not sure that she believed that it was for Bear. :D
Any word on Jane's pool Karen? Is today the Publix Fried Chicken Day? All I can say is please have a piece for me. And a Hawaiian Sweet Roll if you have them too.
I best get tidied up. We're off to Jan and Dave's for Jan's birthday BBQ. There will be 8 of us masked and distanced. With the air quality, I may just stay indoors with a glass of wine and the pups.
Anyway, gonna run. You all have a fantastic Monday!

Good afternoon!

Pat, wow...I bet that was a surprise to come out & find to kids sitting on the sofa....and yep....we have had rain here everyday since Thurs! It started yesterday afternoon & rained....and rained...and rained some more...it would stop for a while & then rumble right back up...no complaints from me though...glad I can quit turning on the sprinklers!

Lee, you sure are having a 2 steps forward....3 steps back kind of recovery....I hope to heck the doctors can figure out what the problem is & that it is nothing serious going on...tomorrow is fried chicken day...

Kathie, I can just imagine the first thing going thru your mind when you saw the hole was....what kind of critter is after my plants now! Glad you caught the problem early & have your own live in maintenance man!

Dave, good call on staying inside when the humidity is up there so high...and yes...wonder of wonders I've actually enjoyed a couple of lazy days....that will all change tomorrow when the troops show up for swimming & lunch...

Finally heard back from Jane, she said Amanda thought Publix chicken sounded like a fine idea....I will pick up a rotisserie as well because Alyse can't have the breading of the fried chicken...Jane is making her baked beans & will pick up a watermelon...my brother & his wife are on their way to Ocala now & will be coming for lunch tomorrow too, as will Wendy. I talked to Wendy yesterday afternoon & she had gotten home at 11:30 Sat. night from Ohio....she said they would have been home earlier but road construction held them up in Ga. I'm just glad she had her daughter's riding with her going up & coming home...not sure if I'll make it on here tomorrow so I'll catch up with you all sometime Wed....
