As the Queen was brought into the chapel we got THUNDER here. Big time! And it is POURING rain right now as if we were in Puerto Rico. Wow. The creek will be up big time in minutes.

Art is still sleeping, as some of you all are too!

Farewell Queen Elizabeth, you will be missed!

Today is finally the funeral of that great lady. You've got to admit that the Brit's can show great pageantry on occasions like this.

So today will be wall to wall TV coverage of this on the news channels. But, we'll never see such as this day ever again in our lives. (Up this early k2....you're going to need a nap. :) )

Yes BB, I too got this odd E-mail from your address. And to think that Rita's address book is the one usually hacked. As for phone calls, I rarely pick up the phone. Unless I personally know the person. I figure that whoever it is, if it's important enough, they'll leave a message. And if it is someone I know, I'll pick-up. Funny how cons and hackers just hang up saying nothing.

Yes K2, you can't blame the contractor for the screw ups of his supplier. And since he isn't fully paid, he remains motivated to complete this remodel. Are you done with all the remodels you've thought about?
1f601.png

It seems that you Lee and KC have one thing in common. You both are much more happy at your current home, than you were before you got there.

I had a brain-fart while I was on the stationary bike yesterday morning about my frustration with needing to be bent over to use it.

I just took off the handlebars that made me look like a racer and turned them around. (Not suppose to be that way.) Screwed them down using the same holes and screws, and now I can sit up when riding the stationary bike. Made me a happy-camper.

Drat! Rachel Maddow won't be on tonight due to all the funeral coverage. That lady has one Hell of a contract. On the air only one day a week, plus gets off on all the Monday holidays, and days like this.

I’m still amazed at ALL the people lining the highway from Westminster to Windsor. It never ends.
I’m almost on funeral overload. But this is something that most likely will never happen in this depth again. For sure, not in my lifetime.

Only way I would get a nap in is if I read my book that I started yesterday. I can fall asleep doing that at times!

No more major projects here Dave. Unless I win big in the Lottery!

That major RAIN we got early this morning was much needed, it got absorbed quickly and even the creek went down quickly.

On Saturday I bought the last of the fresh Michigan peaches for this year. Got some for Jill and she intern picked 2 pints of Raspberries for us! We did a trade off in the parking lot of the local high school which is 1/2 way between our homes! It looked like a Drug Trade off! :D

DAVE: Art said good for you figuring out you can reverse the handle bars and give your back and neck a break while you bike and watch the TV.

Okay, back to watching the procession. Enjoy your day.

Good morning, everyone! It appears that most of you were up bright and early this morning. Not this gal! Slept until after 9. That's 2 days in a row. Maybe I'm starting a new trend.

Still having trouble with my email account. I'm not getting any new emails! The hackers are probably doing me a favor as most of it is junk anyway, but there are a few things I look forward to getting every day. The only other good side of this hack is that I've gotten phone calls and messages from people I haven't talked to in a long time. It was fun to chat with them for a while.

Kathie - Are you funeraled out yet? TV hasn't been on yet today, so I will catch up seeing the highlights which I'm sure will be shown over and over. Any idea when you'll get that final cabinet door? You do have a lot of patience, I must say. I'd have had my Jersey attitude activated already. LOL

Dave - Smart move turning around those handlebars. Sure to be much more comfortable when using the stationary bike. We used to have one of them when we lived in Ocala. Also had a treadmill. We got rid of both when we moved here. Now our only exercise is walking to the refrigerator and back!!
I usually don't answer unknown callers, but between doctors and home health care, I've had to answer just about everything. Many of them use private phones to call. Now that I'm finished with home health and winding down on doctors, I can go back to ignoring unknown phone numbers.

The split pea with ham soup came out great. We still have plenty left for tonight and the rest will get frozen for future use. I think that tomorrow night, I deserve to go out for dinner!

Yes..... I am satisfied that I watched as much of the Queen's funeral as I did. It was history and I know I will never see anything like that again. All those meetings she had for decades paid off big time. I'm sure she was smiling that big smile of hers and patting herself on her shoulders.
The
creepiest part of today's funeral services was when the CASKET slowly got lowered into the floor after the service was completed. And just like that it was in the lower level of the cathedral where her mother & father & Prince Philip were! I did a Google and it was amazingly a large area.
Since the Westminster Abbey is over 100 yrs old, I'm thinking that area must have been added sometime after the building was built. I need too so some research on that one.

PEA SOUP........one of my favorites. But it has to be made in the Winter when it's either snowy outside or just plain old cold. It was 80F here today. Way too hot for soup for me.

BB: I have no worries about the cabinet door getting here sometime soon. Remember, the contractor still hasn't gotten his final payment. And the nice thing is he said he doesn't want it until the job it totally
done, and we're totally satisfied. Works for me. Not much you can get JERSEY about when the cabinet company is in Indiana and so busy they are working 3 shifts. What they need is a better Quality Control dept. And the cabinet salesperson here needs to be more careful when ordering replacement pieces. I really think the door issue was his fault.
He had to absorb the cost of ordering the one entire cabinet that held up the job for 3 weeks. I didn't feel bad for him at all. Ha Ha.

I trimmed the hedges on the side of the house that leads to the backyard just a while ago. Looks good. Art was a real dear and cleaned up the trimmings. I hate doing that.

Went and bought Finch Seed for the ..... well of course.... the Finches! Ha Ha.

Not much else going on. I want to continue reading my book later tonight.

Hope you all had a good day!

A mind is a terrible thing to lose, Lee.

Ever had a grasshopper loose in the house? Well I did last night. and I can tell you that they are FAST and hard to catch.

Most likely it came in, unnoticed, through the back door left open for the dogs. I was sitting there last night watching the boob-tube and heard this racket. When they start rubbing their legs together it is loud. (A mating thing I guess.) And sounds a lot like something electrical is shorting out. So I headed into the kitchen to hunt down this sound. And there was this large green bug sitting atop the roll of paper towels making his location known.

I headed for him and he zooms straight up, goes silent, and I couldn't figure out where he went for the rest of the night. In the morning he was found in a lamp where he had croaked. And so ended my great hunt.

Sleep in 3 days in a row, BB? Sorry to hear that your E-mail account is still screwed up. Someone, somewhere is always trying to mess with our E-mails, credit cards or personal information. I have to pass on the split pea soup. Just not to my liking.

That ten or so days of mourning and the funeral sure was full of history, unusual traditions, and customs, K2. I'm sure glad the announcers explained many of them. I was really befuddled when some fella broke a stick by the casket. It signified that the Queen's reign and the ceremony was over. And who knew that the Queen had her very own bag-piper that played for her every day.

Time to teach Art how to play the bagpipes.

Nothing much planned for today.

Turns out the school bus for a couple of our granddaughter's goes right by our house every day. One of them has a birthday on Friday. So Kathi wants to make a sign for our front yard wishing her a happy-birthday. So she needs to go to the dollar store today to get some white cardboard to attach to an old political yard sign.

Have a good Tuesday all you cute Bunnies. And also you ones that aren't.

Time for a quick good morning. Getting ready to go pick up our new glasses that have been ready for 2 weeks already. Found that out yesterday when Bert called them. Seems like they send a text message to the phone number he gave them. Unfortunately, that's the house phone and can't get text messages. I wonder how long they would have waited before actually calling us?

Finally got my email straightened out thanks to Missy finding the problem. All my emails were being send to trash thanks to these $#@&% hacking me. I see where Bill also got hacked.

Time to run. I'll try to stop back later.

Not a thing going on over here at our homestead. Miss all the Queen's processions. Did you folks know that Charles and Camilla live in different HOMES for the past 15 or more years. WOW. She visits him and when she stays over night at Charles's digs she has her own room. Those Royals sure are different. :emoticon 0104 surprised:

It's CHILLY around here today. Finally up to 78F, but it feels colder.
On THURSDAY the HIGH will be 63F. Get out! That's just like not fair Mother Nature. Horrible trick to give us on the 1st day of Fall. :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:

DAVE: Tell Kathi I love that she goes out of her way to do CLEAVER things for the grandkids. Love the Birthday Sign idea.
And the poor Grasshopper came to his own death by Hopping onto a HOT LIGHT BULB. Ouch.

Karen: How's it going with you girl? Finding more projects to keep you busy??

Lee: Get out your LONG SLACKS.......you're going to need them for those morning Navy Park walks. Crazy how this cold weather just creeps up on us here up North! HATE IT BIG TIME.

Bill: Hope you are having a good cruise. Hope the seas are being nice to you both.

BB: If you give your cell phone number to places like the eye glass shop, they would TEXT your cell number and you would get the message. On our land line at the house, you can only get VOICE MAIL messages.
And by the way, I saw that a friend of mine from church got HACKED yesterday. Seems to be happening way too often.
I've started to change my Facebook Password and my E-Mail Password every few months just to stay ahead of the HACKERS. Not sure if that does any good or not, but it makes me feel better.
I do it on my ONLINE BANK account that I use only to pay bills too.

Out of here for now.

A “warmish” day here under cloudy skies. Tomorrow is supposed to feel like 99F. Thursday like 63F. Yep, you read that right.
I was thinking of putting one of those Apple Air Tags on my mind Dave. But I couldn’t remember where I had put them. Now, did that grasshopper just up and pass on or did he fry on the lightbulb? Delicacies in some cultures you know. And to think Kathi wanted you to toss out that old election sign.
How high did your creek rise Kathie? We certainly did get a look into life as A Royal over the past few days. So much pomp and pageantry that I suspect will never be seen on that level again.
We have a feature on our phone that lets people send texts to our land line Pat. It’s only happened a couple of times but it sure is neat. It actually translates the message to a voice and reads it when you pick it up. Hopefully the glasses will be perfect!
Ukulele lesson one complete. We learned the proper names for the parts, tuning and became proficient at playing 5 notes on 2 strings. Bethany has the patience of a saint. Which I suspect will come into play as the weeks progress.
Looks like we may see a little rain so I think we’ll get the pups out in the yard.
See you all later.

Lee: Creek came up FAST from the intense amount of rain, but because it's been so dry it didn't flood over the banks. Went down to a decent level and the DUCKS loved it. Not bad all in all. The grass and shrubs loved the nice soaking.

So glad to hear that your Ukulele lesson went well. Can't wait to see a Video of you playing us a tune!

Thunder, Lightning and of course RAIN off and mostly ON from about 5:00 pm.
I had enough time to turn on the grill and pull it close to the "doorwall" and put
our Salmon on it. Closed the lid and watched it from the inside! Luckly for me it stopped raining hard right when I was ready to bring in the fish! And it was delicious.

It's almost 11 O'Clock and still raining and some good thunder outside. Grass will be loving it and so will the last of the flowers!

Happy Wednesday morning Bunnies!

Sadly, the last full day of summer. Sooo, in this area, we're going to a temperature near 90. So I will go to my regular visit with the heart surgeon this morning wearing shorts and an Hawaiian shirt.

Soon to be fall, Kathi wants to make, and freeze, some apple pies. So we visited our local orchard. Gobs of apples, but not the kind she likes for pies. But the "Jonagold" won't be available for another couple of weeks. So she waits.

Speaking of something else fall-ish, Dairy Queen is now selling pumpkin pie flavored Blizzards. Since they will only be available for a while, Kathi bought 14 of them for our freezer. (The mini size.) Well....as of this morning there seems to be only 13, for some reason.
1f914.png

Lee, I too would like to see a video of you playing the ukulele.

Hoping that Bert's and your new glasses work just fine, BB. I hate having to go back because the lenses weren't ground just right.

Cool tracking device to see where Bill's ship is, K2. Oh by the way, Grandmothers do CLEVER things for the grandkids. It's the Grandfathers that want to go after the grandkids with a CLEAVER every once in a while.

Good morning! Know what the difference between Summer and Fall in Florida is? Pumpkins! Otherwise nothing changes for in a few months it will get cool once in a while.

Well, it finally happened! The car repair place decided the AC compressor needs to be replaced to the tune of $3500!!!! Guess what - ain't gonna happen. Bert picked u the car this morning. Jimmy will check it out again in a few days. He said he definitely doesn't think it's the compressor, so we shall see. There is something good possibly coming out of this ... Bert's actually talking about getting another vehicle, but doesn't know what kind just yet.

Lee - I too want to hear a video of you playing the uke. Who knows - you might like it so much you'll buy one and give us a live concert when you're in Florida next Winter. That would be fun!!

Dave - I think the new glasses definitely need to go back. Looking up or straight ahead, I'm getting some double vision and I know that's not right. For all that these glasses cost, I don't think I'm going to settle for what I'm seeing at this point.

Kathie - You got lucky cooking that salmon on the grill between the raindrops. I still crack up over your not making fish in the house. We've never been bothered by the smell of fish cooking and salmon smells especially good.

Not much going on around here today. I'm going to make spaghetti with meatballs & sausage for dinner tonight. Like that better, Dave? LOL Might also start to get out the Halloween stuff, including my witch collection. It depends on if Bert can find all the containers the stuff is in.

Now it's time for a coffee break. Enjoy this last day of Summer, everyone!

Thunderstorm warnings, thunderstorm watches, off and on since early morning. I was awake at 4:00 am, got up and sat in the family room watching the sky light up.
We had to replace the AC compressor in the van a couple of years back Pat. Maybe because of the make and model but it sure wasn’t that pricey!
Seems that Kathi isn’t alone in “hoarding” frozen treats. Wendy’s “frosty’s” were 99 cents. On Labour Day the went back to the regular price of $1.99. Our friend Jim has their spare fridge freezer full of them. I wanted to go over when they were out, bring them back to our spare freezer and leave a ransom note.
Have to think that you were lucky to move you BBQ that close to the house to do your salmon Kathie. I find it to be generally mild when cooking it. Those ship tracker (and flight tracker) apps are neat. I have one that I can check the freighters in the river on.
About the uke lessons…Lu-Ann got me an inexpensive one many years ago. I need to be shown how to play it. I don't do well trying to convert a book to music. Bethany has, so far, made the lessons fun and given us both the hands on method of teaching. I fear concert hall performances are still a little way down the road. But until then please enjoy this tune by the late and much revered Hawaiian musician Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
. And yes, I can pronounce his last name.

LOVE the VIDEO Lee! I feel if I listened to it outside on our deck RIGHT NOW and closed my eyes I would feel like I was in Hawaii. The SUN is shining, and the HUMIDITY must be 105 out there. Temp is 84F.
This morning it was 65F and at noon it was raining full blast again. Stopped after 1/2 hr and now we have the heat and humidity.
BUT it's better than what we will have TOMORROW! 60F high and 40-45F low overnight. CRAZY weather. Mother Nature must want us all to know it's the 1st day of FALL tomorrow.

We waited for the rain to stop and went for Brunch at a restaurant that opened during the start of Covid. It was nice, but too pricey for my taste. With tip our bill was $37.54. I had a Club Sandwich and coffee and Art had a Breakfast plate of 3 eggs, 2 sausages, a small piece of ham and toast and coffee.
Coffee was a decent price.... $2.99 a cup w/refills. Oh well, everything is higher priced these days EVERYWHERE.

BB: My money is on Bert getting the car fixed. Somehow, I just can't see him giving in to a newer car. Notice I didn't say NEW car! Good luck kiddo. :)

DAVE: Last week I went into our Dairy Queen and got a SMALL vanilla cone dipped in Choc and it was $4.50 something with tax. CRAZY.

Out of here for now. I was outside before I got on here and I think the humidity got to me. Gotta put the A/C on.

Later.........

HERE’s some useless information for you folks. Ha ha.
We had a surprise visit from Jill earlier. She was picking up all the Downey’s Potato Chips from all the Kroger grocery stores on this side of town. Good thing she has a truck w/a cover over the bed of the truck in case it rains!
The company is Turning over the delivery of their CHIPS to a Distribution Company. More cost effective in getting paid for the product being delivered to the stores. I guess that happens when a small company expands to more stores! They will still supply the chips with their own drivers to smaller Mom & Pop stores.

When I was complaining about the price of a breakfast/brunch I need to add POTATO CHIPS to the list. Jill said the price of DOWNEY’S Kettle fried chips went UP $1.00 a bag this week! Yikes!
Darn good thing we get them free from Jill!

Okay out of here for now.

Love that the New York Atty General is suing T-man and his kids for FRAUD. Not sure it will amount to anything, but making more attorneys rich! He’s been sued left and right and nothing ever comes of it. I think his failed Trump University scam did have to pay back students that bought into that scam.

Later.

Good grief BB, you're beginning to wear out that Caddie just by all the trips to the shop. Sure hope there's a way to get the air conditioning working for a lot less than $3,500. And it also sucks that your new glasses aren't right. Most places give you 60 days to make them right. Now you'll need to go back, have your eyes tested again, and then wait for the newer ones to come in. Bifocals? That's what I've got. Since you didn't mention Bert, I'm guessing that his are OK.

I love that song and the guy who sang it, Lee. Such a distinctive voice. Such a shame that he died so young. I can't tell, but do you use a pick when playing the ukulele?

Yes K2, Mother Nature is sure letting us know that it's now fall. Our high temperature today will be 25 to 30 degrees lower than yesterday. Thanks pal, you've now put "club sandwich" in the back of my brain. Haven't had one of those in a long time. I too am in the cheering section to hear that the Buffoon and 3 of his kids are being sued by New York State for being crooks in real estate dealings.

The heart surgeon I visited yesterday is passing me on to a doctor who specializes in treating A-Fib. Maybe he can find a way or drug to get my heart into a normal rhythm. Last year when it was stopped, then shocked, it stayed normal for all of one day.

Kathi is off to get her hair done this morning, so I may go grocery shopping by myself. It all depends upon how my legs feel. At least I'll spend a lot less time NOT checking out everything that is pumpkin-spice.

Dave I saw this and had to post it for you. You need a basket on your bike in the basement for FuzzButt! How is JACK doing these days? Behaving or NOT??

Are you currently on any A-Fib meds? They have some that you have to take EVERY 12 hrs and then they have one that you take once a day. If you don't have good prescription coverage they are EXPENSIVE. I pay $45 for a 3-month supply. I'm on Eliquis (twice a day) but I'll be honest I only take one at night. I have no issues with racing heartbeat or flashing in my eyes. I use to get all of that when I would bend down and then get up when gardening. Good luck with anything they give you.

Got distracted looking at a site that tells you what meds interact with each other. I'll post the site once I see what it's about.

You all have a good day.

KAREN: Is everything okay down by you? Just checking! Enjoy your day.
