Hot Damn, got me a couple more containers of lemon pie ice cream, to add to my stash.

All this downsizing of product containers drives me nuts. We used to pick up a half-gallon of ice cream. But now they only sell it in a quart and a half container. It's only a matter of time before they shrink a "gallon" of milk.

I too can't stand the taste of anise, K2. Really neat size of those pizzelles. Plus it's the preferable size for a cookie I'd want.

I'm with you Bill on being pleased when a doctor runs on schedule. Another reason I like early appointments. I want to be there before they start getting behind.

Speaking of which; I've got an early one today with my skin doctor. She's extremely competent and nice, but she spends way too much time gabbing with patients, talking about non-medical things.

Hope everyone got a good night's sleep, to have the energy to do what you put off doing yesterday.

Happy Its Friday GIF by Chippy the Dog
These weeks keep flying by way too fast.

Good Morning Wrabbits.
So are the constant phone calls and TV ads for the elections getting to any of you folks? I swear that if the politicians would just tell me WHAT they were going to do to improve our local government instead of just SLAMMING each other I might just listen to them. But the constant hurtful rhetoric totally turns me off. Can’t wait until elections are over. But then, if the GOP’s don’t get elected we have to go through all the BS of “
Recounts”!D

You just can’t win.

Dave: I noticed the cartons of Ice Cream getting smaller too. Nice you were able to snatch a few of your favorite Lemon flavor.
I hope that Kathi is feeling better.
How’s that Jack puppy behaving lately?

It’s real sunny and 40 degrees here in Pure Michigan. Brrr.
I wanted to wash the outside windows, but they will have to wait until it turns 60F later in the weekend.

I don’t know how you folks can buy and wrap Christmas presents already. The older I get the more I just wish I could Skip Christmas TOTALLY. BEST CHRISTMAS I remember was the year we went to Mexico and didn’t have to set up the house or worry about making cookies or hosting! Yikes that was when Jill was 10 years old! Ha ha.

I’m looking at the sun shining on our backyard trees. Just beautiful. I’ll take a pic of the bright Red/Orange trees in front of the house for you Florida folks to see.

Lee: Glad the Ghost session at the bookstore went off okay. Art is so happy you are contracting out the taping and drywall sanding. He said that’s one thankless job. You and your crew take care not to pull anything when taking those big sheets of drywall downstairs.

I’m off to get a refill my coffee and then it’s time to strip the beds and wash the sheetS. ALWAYS SOMETHING.

KAREN: Sure would be nice if you would drop in and say HOWDY!

Good morning! Got a much better night's sleep last night, except for waking up to use the bathroom, that is.

Another **PERFECT** Florida day ahead but with a slight chance of rain later in the day. I'm hoping that before it's time to start dinner tonight we'll get a chance to repeat yesterday afternoon - a warm (87) afternoon on our lanai drinking Tequila Sunrises! It's a rough life, but someone has to do it!

Dave - Glad you got some more of your lemon pie ice cream. I hope Kathi is feeling better now. I too have seen the apple slicers like that. Ours does8 slices.

Kathie - Good for you being so ambitious making those pizzelles. I do like to make them around the holidays. Unlike you and Dave, I really do like the anise flavor. Reminds me of the things Bert's mother used to make around Christmas.
Your tree colors are so beautiful. That's about the only thing I miss from up north seeing all those beautiful colors. We have our fall colors here too ... it's called BROWN and usually happens in January!
I'm with you about all the negative campaigning on TV right now. I'm actually looking forward to our usual evening car commercials one after another. Better than all this nastiness.

Bill - Good for you getting in and out of the doctor's office so fast. I love when that happens. Most of mine are pretty prompt. I usually like to book appointments around 1:00. They're just coming back from lunch and there's not a big backup in the waiting room. Usually by the time I leave, the waiting room is full.

Nancy - Much too early to be wrapping Christmas presents. Around this time I start looking at stuff, but don't buy anything. We've gotten to the point where we just give the kids money and let them do the shopping for their kids and for themselves. They do bring the gifts here for me to wrap, so I feel like we get the best of both worlds without the hassle of fighting the mobs in the stores.

M&J and company are coming for dinner tonight. It's time for some shrimp and sausage Cajun food with veggies all done in the oven. Hardest part is cutting it all up. Once again, I will be doing 2 sheet pans full. I've already made dessert - angelfood cake with crushed pineapples. Easiest cake ever!!

Now though it's time for a cup of coffee and to read the newspaper.

Lee - Sorry I missed you in my post. You were on the previous page!! Glad you had a good time at your Ghost tour at the book store. Here they are doing ghost tours this weekend in downtown Kissimmee and also downtown St. Cloud. Only problem is that they are like $20. per person and I can't justify that in this area. Now St. Augustine ghost tour would be worth it.
Never did get any naps yesterday, but I made it through just taking it easy all day.

A very late good morning. I did not get to sleep until 4 this morning so I slept until 9:30. Since I could not sleep I put away laundry and found some things to give to Salvation Army.

Am thinking of finishing wrapping Christmas gifts today.

I have for years always bought Christmas gifts early. When I was working it was much easier since I would actually have to go to the Mall and other stores, whereas now I can look on Amazon at everyone's wish list and spread out the cost thru the year. This year Max is getting only a couple of gifts as I will be getting something for him to go with the guitar.

We have had some rain the last few days, but more would be nice.

All have a great day.

The last day or two, Rita and I have had slight coughing and sneezing, so my doctor did a nasal swab and the report showed that I was negative for Covid but positive for flu, so Tylenol and frequent liquids are the order of the day. Symptoms are already easing and I actually slept a bit better last night.
I"m beginning to share Dave's enthusiasm for watching taped episodes of TV programs and being able to zoom past the commercials. I think I counted almost 15 commercials in one commercial break for TAR which we watched last night. Speaking of TAR, does anyone else find this season's shows far less interesting and the road blocks boring than in the past? Usually they take the contestants to places that spark my interest but not this year and I have to wonder how well received the female contestants have felt in the Middle East, even a country as supposedly liberal towards women as Jordan.
Can't wait for Election Day and the end of those annoying political ads, especially the ones campaigning against some of the initiatives on the ballot, which baldly misrepresent the measure, and the political ones that the ultra-right pols are attacking democratic candidates. Truth in Advertising apparently isn't necessary when running for office.
Submitted our mail in ballots yesterday, so all those ads will be even more wasted on us. Congratulations, by the way, to Kathie for becoming a poll worker, Dave. She is performing a very important but frequently undervalued task. Hope she is treated with the respect she deserves.
Temperature two days ago was 70 degrees but today and tomorrow are due to be at least 20 degrees cooler. No wonder there is an uptick in the number of respiratory infections and flu.

Negc: KATHI...(Dave's Wife) is the one doing the POLL worker job. Our names are ALMOST the same except mine has a "E" on the end. Go figure.
Hope you and RITA feel better now that you know you have the FLU and not the Covid. Amazing that a test can tell if you have the FLU these days. Did you get your FLU SHOT? Just wondering?

I took the day off and brought up the foot soaking machine and did a in House Pedicure. I didn't do any polish yet. Since taking those DARN NASTY
BLOOD THINNER pills I hate to have anybody do my toes! :emoticon 0104 surprised: Anyways it was long overdue and I'm glad that's done for now.

BB: Your dinner sounds yummy for tonight. Enjoy.

Off to make something for us to eat!

Hello Bunnies.
I see “The Killer” has passed. Love him or not, he certainly was a trailblazer.
It was a truly beautiful day here. Made even brighter by your pictures Kathie.
Doug and I picked up 50 boxes of flooring this morning. As a matter of fact yes we did stop at Starbucks. The flooring was on sale at COSTCO and we saved $500 plus tax! The rest of the gang came over to help off load. We passed them in through the basement window and stacked ‘em for future use. This afternoon we got our flu shots. Covid booster is set for Tuesday.
“Shrinkflation” Dave. The package size or weight decreases but the price remains the same. How’d you make out at your skin doctor?
Again with the tasty dinners Pat! The Burg has a self guided ghost tour. You scan QR codes at a number of locations and get to listen to the spooky details and are guided to the next building. It costs nothing!
We have found TAR not quite up to the standards previous seasons have brought us Bill. We PVR everything too. Maybe that’s why enjoy commercial free streaming services so much. Put your feet up and have a nice warm adult beverage.
Again Kathie, beautiful pictures. We have drywall panel carriers and will put two guys on each sheet. Still waiting to hear from the taper / mudder guy. Lu-Ann loves Halloween and decorating. Since Tiff has grown we really don’t have little folks around to put the spirit in Christmas. Well, that and Christmas has gotten so danged commercial.
Yep, way too early to have Christmas shopping done. And wrapped Nancy.
See you all tomorrow folks.

Good evening. Well I finished wrapping Christmas gifts. Now only whatever I get for Bruce and a couple more. I told Jennifer how much I have to spend left for Max and she knows what all I can get, so either when we are there at Thanksgiving I can get the things or she will and she will wrap and tag for me.

Yes I know it is early but at Thanksgiving I will be taking everything over to Tampa. So it has to be done by then anyway. And this year we will be heading straight for Tampa since it will be at Jennifer's this year. So we will go over on Wednesday.

I mailed off our ballots today so that is done.

I knew not to take a nap so I am tired so will be going to bed pretty soon.

All have a good night.

Good Saturday morning, Bunnies!

Sorry that you got the flu, Bill. I too am curious as to whether or not you had gotten the shot for it. It's like Covid, if you had gotten vaccinated for them at least it should be a milder case. Today we should get to our recording of "The Amazing Race".

So BB, you really do like the anise flavor in pizzelles? HMMM. Maybe they'll come out with pizzelles with moth-ball and cedar-chest flavorings, too.

Thanks for the fall pictures, K2.
" How’s that Jack puppy behaving lately?" HE'S A PUPPY. And a bullheaded dachshund puppy, to boot! The good news is that I haven't killed him, yet. I give, what does blood thinner do to your toes?

Lee; Boy did you luck out at Cosco saving $500 on the flooring. And good going on getting the flu shot. I had the usual freezing of half a dozen spots at the skin doctor.

Not much else to jabber about. The stationary bike awaits me.

Philli takes the 1st game of the World Series in overtime. It was a good baseball game. Interesting compared to some of the games
throughout the season.

DAVE ASKED: I give, what does blood thinner do to your toes?
Short and simple Dave.......you snip yourself when getting carried away trimming dead skin and you bleed like no tomorrow. HATE IT. Pressure applied and secured for it to stop. Bet you're glad you asked now! Ha Ha.

Rather FOGGY outside right now. Hope it lifts by the time Art and his biking buddies get started on their Saturday bike ride. They'll be right next to Lake St Clair, so it might take a tad longer for the FOG to LIFT!

I have nothing else for you folks this morning. Be Safe and enjoy the weekend.

LEE: Take it slow with that DRYWALL moving!

Good morning. Got a good full nights sleep so am ready for the day. Supposed to get a package from UPS today that was supposed to be delivered yesterday, so will see.

Man thing will be watching NASCAR. This is the next to last weekend for the year. So will see who all will be racing for the Championships.

Saving $500 on the flooring is very good. I know as our house is mainly laminate flooring, only the bathrooms, kitchen and utility room has tile.

All have a great day.

Happy Saturday, everyone! This morning started out really dark and grim, but now the sun is shining brightly. I like it this way better.

Bill - Sorry that you have the flu. Feel better real soon. How is Rita feeling? Not having to watch commercials and political garbage is a definite reward of recording shows. I hate sitting through commercials watching "live" programs. For some recorded programs DISH will ask me if I want to skip commercials and of course I say yes. Where there should be a commercial, we get about a 5 second blip and it's right back to the show. Those are my favorite!

Kathie - Leave it to you to be following the World Series! I couldn't have told you who was playing and who wasn't!! Neighbors of ours are huge Phillies fans. They also make the big bucks. I'd put money on their attending at least one or two of the games! Must be nice, huh? How nice that you gave yourself a pedicure. Aside from not worrying about causing bleeding, you saved yourself some money. That's always a good thing.

Lee - Good for you and Lu-Ann saving all that money on the tiles for the basement. Good catch on that one. Since Costco moved from in Orlando, I have not been in a Costco. We dropped our membership. These days we just stick with Sam's & BJ's, but I really liked Costco best.
Be careful moving all that drywall. None of you guys wants to throw your backs out.

Nancy -I just couldn't do all my Christmas shopping that early. The neighbor I mentioned about who is the Phillies fan, had all her shopping finished and wrapped back in August! That included 5 grandchildren and at least 8 adults. I told her at that time that I hated her for doing things that early. Don't make me say that to you now!!!

Dave - Yes, we really do like the anise flavoring. I not only use anise seeds in my pizzelles, I also use anise extract to get a more intense flavor. Our whole family like them that way. No thank you on the mothball and cedar chest flavoring. LOL

Our dinner last night was a big hit. I had wanted to take a picture of the 2 full pans, but the vultures dove into it before I had a chance! They also consumed a big bowl of salad with lots of goodies in it and almost all of the angelfood and pineapple cake. Might have to make another cake for when Gary & Ethan are here for dinner tomorrow.

Tonight is Hellalago. It should be a perfect night with temps in the 70s. Aside from having a haunted house they have rides and games for the kids. Then at 9:00 they have fireworks because doesn't everyone have fireworks for Halloween? Never could figure that one out considering that they don't allow fireworks here for July 4th and New Year's, but this is ok. Go figure ...

Time to see what Bert is up to. He's been fiddling with something in the bedroom and that's never a good thing, if he hasn't told me his plans. I should have sent him for hot bagels this morning, but forgot.

Have a terrific day, everyone! :winkhn:

Good Saturday morning.
This is Bob. Bob likes peanuts. I took this pic during our morning walk today. How do I know his name? I said “Bob, would you like a peanut?” And he came right over.
It was barely above freezing with thick, thick fog this morning. The Detroit River echoed with the sounds of fog horns. Pretty neat even if I do say so myself.
Waiting for the call from Lowe’s that the drywall is on the way.
I recall you mentioning before about the odd rules for fireworks in your community Pat. We don’t have Sam’s or BJ’s here so COSTCO is the only game in town. Not counting the World Series of course. I’m picturing you putting out your spread, turning to get your camera and “poof” it’s all gone.
All of the racing series are winding down Nancy. F1 is in Mexico this weekend with only two more races after that. Both drivers and constructors titles have been decided.
Blood thinners cause grief on every cut Kathie. I was thinking of Art this morning and wondered if he’d be getting in another ride once the fog lifted. I always hope that championship ball games (football, baseball, pickleball…) are close and reflect the reason those teams are playing for all the marbles.
Lu-Ann was on our bike this morning Dave. I hit the treadmill. Yep, we were pleased with the flooring. The sign clearly said the price was through next week. We didn’t realize it was going up $10 per box! A big bowl of lemon pie ice cream and skimming through commercials on TAR. Sounds OK to me!
How’s everyone feeling at your place Bill? Hopefully, like the others said, it’s a mild case of the flu.
Well, off to see what I can start only to be interrupted by a delivery…
Have a great Saturday everyone.

Feeling a bit better and slept much better last night. When we got back from our cruise we called and got appointments for flu and Covid booster shots, but they are for next Thursday, so I guess you could say we were a "day late and a dollar short". Those child proof containers seem to be adult proof as well. Two of the meds that I bought yesterday are still unopened. Pushed down and turned as directed but the caps merely click and refuse to come off.
So tired of those internet scams. If I believed them then in the last day, I "won" both a golf cart and an iPod Pro. All they need is my cc information! Fat chance.
Still another music legend has passed- Jerry Lee Lewis. RIP
You might not be as enamored of that fog horn sound, if as was our case a few weeks ago on Voyager, it was sounding just below your stateroom every 90 seconds all night long, Lee.

I'm still waiting for you to send me that cc info Bill. ;) And I'm not fat. I'm short for my weight. Doesn't it make you feel younger that you can't open "child proof" caps on meds. Don't worry, I find them frustrating sometimes too!
What a beautiful afternoon here in The Burg. Drywall came spot in the middle of the delivery window. Then we took the pups for a walk along "Millionaires Row" down by the river. Simply beautiful out side.

Pat, I may buy Christmas gifts in August but I never wrap until at least the end of October. I may buy gifts as early as just after Christmas, but no matter I put them on a shelf and let them sit until late October or early November. This year was strange in that so many gifts are small so it was easy to get them all wrapped and put in larger boxes, not huge boxes so easy to pick up. And then the rest were not so big and so many that I could wrap all in a short period of time. I will say it really surprised me that I got all wrapped in two days.

It's Trick or Treat here in Massillon today. 3 till 5. As usual, we're handing out individual bags of chips. (Always hand out the flavors you don't like first.) The kids get a kick out of it, probably because it's a lot bigger than the size of those tiny candy bars.

Speaking of Halloween; I've mentioned before a house on a busy road here in town that has 2 large cement lions at the end of their driveway. And they decorate these lions for all the various holidays. And the moment the city is repaving the road in front of their house, knocking it down to 1 lane, with workers alternating the flow of the traffic.

So now the lions are decorated with full sized skeletons straddling them, wearing bright orange safety vests and hard hats. Clever.

Those child proof caps; At our pharmacy they put prescriptions into bottles that have child-proof lids on them. BUT, after you get the cap off for the first time you can just flip it over and it just screws off like just like any lid.

Loved the picture of Bob the squirrel, Lee. That's the perfect picture for "Black Is Beautiful".

Even though nobody won the whole thing, anybody make any big bucks on last night's 825 million dollar Powerball drawing? I'd always be happy with all the numbers except the bonus ball. That still would be worth a million. Next drawing is worth 1 BILLION bucks.

Good SUNDAY morning Wrabbits! 37F and the Fog is lifting quickly.

DAVE: We like to hand out CHIPS too. I still haven't bought anything for the little gremlins. I saw small bags of chips in the store yesterday and should have bought them. Not sure if they'll be there today. At least this year it's going to be DRY for the kids that do come around.

We're going to go over and visit our little Manny Puppy sometime this afternoon. After all, we are going to be watching this little Pup this coming weekend for 3 days! YIKES..... what a responsibility for 2 old folks! You have to know that this QUICK pup will be on a leash every time we are outside with him. He could out run us big time.

DAVE: Congrats on your OHIO football team winning yesterday. My MSU-Spartans forgot to bring their GAME-PLAY with them to the stadium. U of M beat them and laughed all the way to the locker room. The lost last year and just weren't going to have that happen again this year. I still say there's nothing like a college football game. Way too many FLAGS thrown by the officials yesterday. I think they like to see themselves on the BIG SCREEN often.

Lee: How did the procession go with bringing down the DRYWALL to the basement yesterday? Hope you took a good Epsom Salt soak last night to ease the strain on your muscles. And I hope you and the OGC are taking today off.

BE SAFE... FLU weather is here. It takes 2 weeks for your FLU SHOT to start to take effect. Don't wait too long to get your shots.

I have nothing else for you nice folks. Enjoy your Sunday.
