Good evening. Did a bit of shopping for sandals and did find a pair. Also got a pair of slippers. Got cash from the bank for the cruise. The last stop was Walmart and got almost everything I need for Rum Cakes. I will be making them when we get home from the cruise.

All have a good night.

Lee: I don’t know what happened to the link. No big deal. You and Shaun have this in check! The space looks great and it’s not even done!

“Smashing” was right on time. Now to wait a few days to read the results on my Portal before I go see the doctor.

Got the bill for Art’s 2 bridges from the Dentist. I knew it was going to be expensive, but $4300 is our share after ALL HIS YEARLY ALLOWANCE IS APPLIED!
Crazy expensive. :eek:o_O
Merry NOT Christmas! Not!
So much for that new Pelton Bike! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

So far so good with the Shingle shot.

Night all.

Any of you Bunnies grab your keyboards yesterday and start buying stuff on Cyber Monday?

When I was leaning toward you buying a new stove KC, I wasn't aware that yours is only 3 years old. So now I agree with you that it's better to have your stove fixed.

Watching the boob-tube till 3 in the morning K2? Naughty, naughty little girl. Keep that up and there'll be no Ed Sullivan for you this week. Good for you pitching a lot of stuff that was accumulating. I see a big pile out by the street on trash-day.

Am I reading your post right, BB? As much cooking as you do and you don't have a self cleaning stove. And is it you or Bert who writes up his long list of "jobs"?

Thanks for the pictures, Lee. Progress is being made, and it looks good. Glad I don't have your to-do list.

I bumped into a special on CNN Sunday night about all the most popular movies and TV shows about Christmas. It was really good. Ones that are shown year after year, and you'd miss if they didn't. And they kept asking people which one is their favorite. Like "It's a Wonderful Life", "A Charlie Brown Christmas, Yes, "Die Hard", "Miracle On 34th Street", Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", "A Christmas Story", "Frosty The Snowman". and dozens more.

SO, new or old, what is your favorite Christmas movie or TV show?

Mine would be, "It's a Wonderful Life".

Gosh Kathie, I don’t think Michigan is paying as much for The Gordie Howe Bridge as you paid for Art’s bridge.
The original Miracle on 34th Street for me Dave.
Off to the vet with Katie for a check up shortly.
Everyone enjoy their day!

Good morning, just dropping in to give an update on Amanda. I talked with her yesterday and it's beginning to look like she will need a liver transplant. They told her that her liver could recover on it's own but it usually takes about 12 weeks for that to happen and because it took so long to diagnose her problem they don't think her body has enough time for that to happen. So they are starting the paper work now so that it will be done & out of the way if it does come down to a transplant.
Still no word from the insurance company on Barb's situation, the person handling her claim was not available yesterday so she left a message, hopefully she will hear something back today.
On a brighter note, the repair man is supposed to be coming on Thurs to fix my stove & it's only going to cost $150, not as bad as I had anticipated.

Good morning. Doing laundry today and later have to go get some Rx's and go to the bank to cash a check. Probably will check at the Walmart to see if they have any cookie/cake tins.

Tomorrow I will start packing for the cruise on Saturday.

All have a great day.

Good morning! After a chilly start, it's a beautiful day in Florida.

Karen - Poor Amanda needing a liver transplant. I will definitely keep her in my prayers.
I don't blame you for getting your oven door fixed. The price of new appliances is absolutely ridiculous these days. $150. for the repair isn't bad at all.

Dave - I couldn't tell you if this wall oven has the self cleaning feature or not. I have never gotten to see the owner's manual that came with the oven. Bert grabbed the owner's manuals of all the appliances the day we moved into the house, put them in individual plastic bags that he taped closed and stored them in a box in the garage. He's so anal when it comes to things like that!! I have no idea even where the manuals are in the garage. We did have a self cleaning oven in NJ, but it was very expensive to use that cycle and it took forever to get it done and be able to open the oven again.
I love all the Christmas movies, but I think my favorite is "The Christmas Story". Our family has a tradition of watching it over and over, starting at 8:00 Christmas Eve until 8:00 Christmas Day. Gary started this years ago and they still watch it. They have most of the dialogue memorized and they recite it with the actors!!

Lee - I hope all goes well with Katie's check up. How old is she now? I'll never forget when you showed us her passport. Bert has told people about that many times. He got a real kick out of a dog having a passport!

Nancy - Once again you are well prepared for your cruise. Which cruiseline are you going on this time?

Bill - The weather should be beautiful when you arrive in Florida for your cruise next week. Do you know yet which hotel you will be staying at the day before your cruise? Ask Rita to send me the details, so we can get together for the day.

Kathie - Wow! That's all I can say about that dental bill. Doctors and dentists, be they for humans or animals, make it hard for people to be able to afford to get a lot of things done these days. Then add meds to that total and it's a wonder some people are even able to afford food. Things sure have changed, haven't they?

Still have some leftovers from our dinner out the other night, so no cooking for me today. I do want to bake a cake though. Don't laugh though - It's a pumpkin streusel coffee cake. We are still not pumpkined out yet, but this will definitely be the end of pumpkin around this house this year. Almost time to start making some cookies.

Time now for a cup of coffee and make up my mind what I might or might not do today. Have a good one, gang!

Well, just like the past few days EACH NEW DAY HAS A NAMEor Purpose! TUESDAY = GIVING DAY! Do you really think there will be a name for Wednesday! Oh wait, that’s HUMP Day! Ha ha.

Karen: Although very scary, it’s good to know that the doctors have figured out just what is the issue with Amanda. I pray it all goes well for her. Thanks for keeping your Extended family in the loop. :emoticon 0152 heart:
So GOOD to hear that the stove won’t cost a total fortune to get fixed. I think I would call or write to the manufacturer since it’s only 3 yrs old and see if they would cover the cost of the parts! Can’t hurt.

Lee: I must agree with you on the Gordie bridge comment! I can’t wait until that bridge is done and we can drive over it. Just AMAZING how they moved it into place. I understand that various countries came to see how it was done.
My stomach has finally settled down at the cost of Art’s bridges. ALWAYS SOMETHING!

It’s another grey day here in PURE MICHIGAN. I’m thinking of making some Mini-cupcakes from a box mix and frosting them and taking them over to the Sr. Living place that ”dear 99 yr old NICK” lived at. He had a special group of table-mate ladies and he always shared my pastries with them. Who knows how many are still from the original group. It would be my Tuesday Giving good deed. Always better to GIVE than to receive!

Lee: From the looks of your basement pictures I see a LOT of money going out for LOTS OF PRIMER and REGULAR PAINT! How many gallons do you think it will come to????????

Dave: I LOVE all of those Christmas movies, but would go with “It’s A Wonderful World”. Wish I could say it’s a “wonderful world” these days!

BB: I think we have been over the Self-Cleaning issue with your oven before! Ha ha. Open the door and on the side is the MODEL NUMBER and Serial number. Do a Google for appliance manuals and you’ll be able to see how to turn on the cleaning unit. It really is only about 2-3 hours of cleaning and so TOTALLY worth it. I would put money on the fact it is a self-cleaning oven. And come on….expense wise it would be one less dinner eating out! :clap002:Ha Ha. Tell Bert to wear a MASK if he uses those Spray Oven cleaners.

Cant Handle It Too Much Pressure GIF
Not quite a OVEN Cleaning Gif, but it was cute!

Negc: When we were at my Brothers for Thanksgiving I saw their BOOKCASE with hundreds of hardcover books. Many of the authors that you have mentioned from tome to time. I can’t wait to go back after the holidays and pick up a few to read. It was like a TREASURE CHEST OF GOOD BOOKS! Actually overwhelming!

You ALL have a fantastic day. I’m off to make Mini Cupcakes.

Pat, this cruise is on Carnival. The Spirit. We had booked the Freedom but they changed things around so when we got the notification we had been moved from an Oceanview to a balcony.

Let's hope that Amanda's medical team can find a liver for her Karen. For sure keeping her in our thoughts and prayers.
The man across the street works for "Bridging North America" and he has said that they have had lots of international guests interested in the bridge and how it's being built. While it will accommodate passenger vehicles it is being built as a route to keep transports off of the Ambassador Bridge and out of downtown Windsor. The answer to the paint question is "lots".
Yes Pat, we were amazed that Katie Girl came with her own EU Passport. Sadly the vets here aren't supposed to use it so she has paper vaccination records like the rest of them. A couple of additional medications as a result of her checkup but overall, at 12 years young, she's doing OK.
I would have reckoned that moving from an ocean view to a balcony would be a nice upgrade Nancy.
It's our turn to have our friends for Christmas. A week ago we started the turkey hunt. Two of the major grocery stores, even yesterday, haven't had ANY turkey's. Well, after our walk this morning and before the vet I had to pee. We popped over to WallyMart and while I was in there I looked. They had 6 Butterballs. Three stuffed and three not stuffed. When I left they had five turkeys. At least we have one.
I've gotta get my butt moving here.
You all have a great Giving Tuesday.

Lee - Glad Katie's check up went well. She really is a sweetheart. I don't think they sell Butterballs already stuffed here. At least I've never seen one, but then again, I never look at the Butterballs. Walley World had plenty of turkeys here this year. That's where Bert bought that 20 lb. Jenni-O turkey for less than he paid for the 2 Jenni-O ones he bought at Restaurant Depot. I might need to send him back into that madhouse to get us a small turkey breast one of these days.

Not sure what, if anything is on tap around here today.

By the way, that "list" of things to do that Bert has is his own creation. If I make a suggestion for something to go on the list, I just get the blank look like a deer caught in the headlights! He only likes his list!! LOL

Just got an update from Barb, the lady handling her claim called her back & told her not to worry about anything, that as her rep it's her job to do the worrying! Her insurance policy covers attorney fees & they will be putting her in touch with an attorney in our area. She also said the letter was definitely sent to intimidate her and that they have people who will sort thru & determine just what his actual injuries are and pay him accordingly.

Good afternoon!

Lee, glad to hear Katie's check up went fairly well, who doesn't have an extra med or so added to the rotation as we get older. Basement project is looking good!

Pat, I don't think I've ever had a Jennie O turkey, I'm guessing they are pretty good? May have to give them a try one of these days.

Dave, I don't watch a lot of Christmas movies, but my sister's & I have watched the ones with Kurt Russel in them, and they were pretty good.

Kathie, YIKES, $4,300 for a bridge? Is it gold & diamond plated?
Having your smashing session in the evening last night was probably a good thing, fewer people around right?

Nancy, we need a few more details on why moving from an ocean view to a balcony was a bad thing?

Not much else going on around here, tonight is the community dinner at the club house. I was going to make an applesauce cake, but since I have no oven I'm going to do chicken & noodles instead.

Tomorrow I will head to Barb's & try to fix her door that rotted out since the guy that installed it didn't do it right, should be a fun project, NOT!

Karen: Fantastic news about Barbs car issues. Whew!
Art had 2 bridges and an extraction done. I’m still going to look into these charges. They just seem unbelievably HIGH. We have NEVER had a charge that high in all our life! Crazy. Next time this nice dentist, that just bought a condo in Florida, has to do any work on either of us we will make sure to get a written estimate! Hope he likes his condo! Ha ha.

I made the mini cupcakes. Now to wait to deliver them closer to dinner hour.

Lee… yippee for Katie getting a good report. Now if us humans can only get good reports too:emoticon 0115 inlove: !

Never got to Costco last night. Going now!

Later gang.

Not sure whether I am proud or ashamed to admit that I purchased nothing on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, or Cyber Monday.
As far as your question about the Pats losing a game just before they play the Bills, Lee, I have to think it is part of Belichick's master plan to lull the Bills into complacency or to inspire the Pats to get revenge by beating their next opponent.
It isn't even meteorological Winter so perhaps the networks can explain how they can be advertising the "Winter Finale" of so many of their programs?
Finished the Gresham book, which I thought was one of his better ones of late, and have started the Janet Evanovitch book. How did you like it, BB.
I'll have Rita call you with the details of our brief stay in FL. We are booked in a hotel near the Orlando airport and if it is satisfactory, we will probably book it again for the night before we fly home.
When we lived in our condo, we had several bookcases filled with hard cover books, but donated most of the books when we moved. Now, our libraries are
primarily contained on our tablets, K2. It makes having reading materials available so much easier when we are traveling.
Have to say that A Christmas Story is probably my favorite. I've always felt that It's A Wonderful Life was a bit too "schmaltzy".
Praying that they can quickly find a compatible kidney donor for Amanda, KC.

I am sorry that some of you thought I was complaining about being moved to a balcony. I was actually surprised that we had been moved. And if as it was no extra cost to us then I am fine with a balcony.

Update on Amanda, she has been moved to ICU and will be getting the next available liver. Not sure when that will happen, but she seems to think it will be soon.

I won't be making it to the clubhouse for dinner because by the time we got off the phone with Amanda there isn't enough time left to fix my food. Not to disappointed in missing it to be honest, a nice quiet evening at home is fine with me
