Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

KC, I was so happy to read that Amanda got her transplant, and it was successful. How could it not be with you, her guardian angel, watching over her. Well....listening.

With all your cooking and baking lately K2, my money says you are the next Bunny to clean your stove.

BB; You are going to have to post a picture of that gingerbread house, when you do it.

That's about it from me this morning.

In a bit we're off to the small grocery store.

You should be sleeping by now, Lee. :)

Good morning. No plans for me today.

I am as ready for the cruise as possible. Only have to pack the toiletry bags tomorrow morning.

All have a great day.

Only time to say good morning and then I'm out of here. Headed out to get blood work done. I've been procrastinating long enough. Bert also is having blood work done too. I'll be back later ...

I'd say that you found an easy way to get some extra Xmas money, Lee. That wasn't the New England Patriots on TV last night. More likely it was the Foxboro Manila Folders.

I'm back. Giving blood was a piece of cake today. Since the last time we were there, the entire place has been redone. It used to be wall to wall people waiting, but today we went right in. What took the longest was the gal entering all the numbers for the tests into her computer. Surprisingly, she managed to find a vein immediately. She took 7 veils of blood. It was for 2 different doctors - my primary and my cardiologist. A number of the tests were duplicates, but she took blood separately for each doctor. I definitely gave the resident vampire plenty to work with today!

Dave - I've never done a gingerbread house before, so this should be an experience, for sure.

Nancy - If I don't catch you in the morning, have a wonderful cruise. Where are you going on this one?

I think this afternoon would be a good time to give Joanne a call. We haven't had a chance to talk in about a month. Time to see what Jeff is up to, if anything. I think this phone call will be made out on the lanai where it's about 80 degrees!

Have a good rest of the afternoon and evening!

Howdy Wrabbits.

Went to see the new the Eye Doc this morning. I liked her. She said she looked through my MRA and bloodwork that was ordered by the Dr that left the practice and said it looked good. They did some kind of peripheral test where I had to use a clicker when I saw different kinds of flashing lights. I passed on my left eye an OVER-CLICKED on my right eye. I told her I wasn’t looking straight ahead. She said no problem. we’ll do a re/check in Feb. I got a new prescription to get filled. Amen!

Dave: My stove is WAY to NEW to get a cleaning. When I have been baking it hasn’t gotten dirty. I wipe down the oven door glass after each use. Trying to keep it nice! :emoticon 0100 smile:

BB: Glad you were in and out for your blood work. Hope you get a good report card.

FYI:
I picked the results of my Mammogram & the CD disk while I was at the medical center this morning. I PASSED! All negative. Life is good on this 5 Year Anniversary! I go to the Oncologist next week! I hope to get off of one of the pills! Time will tell!

Karen; Hope Amanda is doing good today. Usually a few days after major surgery are the hardest. Thinking of all of you BIG TIME.

Art & I drove over to see our little Mr Manny this afternoon. He got his first real haircut and looked not only great, but we could see his darker colored Spots and he looked TALLER! Still full of puppy energy!

My Yarn shipment is delayed until Sat! Bummer.

Nancy: Have a safe and FUN cruise.

Night gang!

Just had to share with you all the great news I have received in my emails this past week. Apparently I have been rewarded by Kohls (where I rarely, if ever, shop, with either an iPhone or an iPad. Another email advised me that I have won a golf cart. That may explain the third email, allegedly from FEDEX, that they have tried to deliver something to my home but since no one was there to sign for it they need some information from me so that they can deliver it. All these unbelievably great things in the past week. Of course I don't know all the details since I didn't open any of the links provided so I guess I will just have to do without. Only thing missing was an email from a Nigerian prince telling me of the riches in store for me or one telling me that I won the Irish lottery.
No wonder I lost last night's bet with Lee having used up all my luck on all those other things.
Have a good cruise, Nancy. We'll be on the
high seas with you for part of next week.

Negc: I don’t want to be the one to burst your Good Fortune Bubble, I got the same wins and more. A old lady wanting to give me money if I could only give her my phone number and ACE Hdwe telling me I won a Drill. It’s crazy how they find our emails. I’ve had 2 hacks from Lu-Ann this week. I keep changing my PASSWORD each time.

Time for some Raspberry with Choc chunks ice cream. It’s just So-So, but I’ll still eat it! Ha ha.

Welcome to the weekend you old farts. Damn youngsters will be crowding the stores during the day, today and tomorrow.

Lee; After you mentioned your sleeping problem yesterday morning, I heard this song and thought of you.

Passing up on all those treasures Bill??? And I hear that the Nigerian Prince is a generous fella.

Good to hear your blood testing went well, BB. Poking people all day long would suck as a job. I'd say the majority of people are spooked to some degree by needles. Or at least look away when they are poked.

Happy for you passing the mammogram test, K2. Your grand-puppy is so, so cute.

Time for another update on Amanda, KC.

As usual, lots of ideas, but no great plans for today.

The usual agenda for THIS retiree.

Great tune! Thanks Dave.
Right you are. A good day to avoid stores - if you can.
Yes
Karen, time for another update on Amanda!
Like you Bill, I'm still waiting for many of those same items. It seems lately spam and junk emails have increased 10 fold. It must be that Nigerian Prince fella sharing his wealth in time for Christmas.
Manny seems to get cuter every time you share a pic of him Kathie! I have always found that the best way to keep a new oven clean is to avoid using it. Like that ever happens around here! What kind of music do they set your smashing to on that CD?
Did you while away the afternoon on the phone with Joanne Pat? 80 degrees. that's about twice what it is here right now. It was 50F when I got up around 5:30. It's down to 40F, high winds and driving rain.
Have a fun adventure on the high seas Nancy.
Shaun is coming this afternoon to finish up, tidy up and collect the rest of his money. He's done a good job for us. I admire that he's trying to start his own business but puts his family first. He takes Wednesday evenings off from his side jobs and was at The Capitol Theatre in Windsor last night to see his oldest daughter (13) perform in The Nutcracker.
We went to Home Depot yesterday and I picked up a 5 gallon pail of primer, some brushes and rollers so that after I tidy and wipe things down I can start to prime. Without having to tape anything I reckon I can prime the whole basement in a day. Then a day for two coats of ceiling paint. Maybe two or three days to paint the walls two coats if needed. The floor will go down next and lastly the trim and lighting.
Time to practice my ukulele.
Everyone have a great and safe day!

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits.
As Lee mentioned... it was 52F here every time I walked by the thermostat and now it's 40F! Yup, the wind has brought in that COLD really fast. Bummer, I really wanted to get outside and gather up the last of the leaves. Well, they'll just have to wait until Spring now. :emoticon 0100 smile:

Lee: You sure do have your work cut out for you with the painting. Will the O.G.C. be helping with this painting? Either way, pace yourself. I know you want this project done before the guests show up for the Christmas Day event at your house this year but listen to your body and SLOW IT DOWN if necessary.

My turn not to sleep well last night. I must have done too much standing in one spot in the kitchen or too much sitting in a too soft chair making Gnomes and my HIP is telling me about it. OUCH is all I can say. Couldn't find a comfortable spot last night. Time to get out the Epsom Salts and take a nice Jacuzzi soak. I need to take my advice that I gave to Lee above and just listen to my body telling me to find a better chair to sit in. Ha Ha.

We did manage to find out where Manny gets his haircuts at and on the way home yesterday we stopped and asked the groomer if she had GIFT Certificates. Well, she didn't. But she was able to tell us how much the haircut was for Manny and we got a business card and will put it in Manny's Christmas sock. I mentioned to the lady that she really needed to get some Gift Certs made up and she said she would have her husband do it on the computer and print them out. Smart thinking on her part. She was a really very nice lady. Had a file card on Manny and knew just who I was talking about.

Okay gang.... I'm off to find that bag of Epsom Salts. Time to take care of "ME".

Have a fantastic day. Come back and tell us all about it.

Good morning! Sorry I haven't been on to update, one day just sems to run into another & I loose track of time. Amanda is doing great! I just spoke to her a few minutes ago. They had removed her breathing tube Thurs. afternoon & her friend Katie from Maine is able to stay with her in her room. She had regular food for breakfast & while we were on the phone the Dr. came in & said her liver numbers were coming down really, really well! They are all very pleased with her progress. And we are VERY grateful for all the prayers. They have had her up sitting in a chair & today they will have her up walking & then later on today they will move her from ICU up to the transplant floor. Her friend will be able to stay there also, which makes me really happy that she has someone to be with her. Leon is still trying to work & since they live 2 hrs away from the hospital it's really hard for him to be able to visit.

I promise to try & read thru & see what everyone has been up to!

Good morning!

Up bright and early today thanks to the guy Bert hired to pressure clean our roof. He started at 7 and is still here. Being on the lake, you have to pressure clean or wash your roof about every 2 years. The powers that be come around checking roofs and send out violation letters when it needs to be done. Yeah, we got one a few weeks ago. Just what you need this time of the year. This job costs $640.! That's a chunk of change to lay out every 2 years, especially during the holidays.

Lee - I too second the idea of you taking it easy while doing this painting job. You have plenty of time to get it done, so pace yourself. Sorry we can't send some of this warm weather up your way. We'll try to hold on to it for when you're in Florida. We're doing the same thing for Bill & Rita.

Dave - I'm one of those people who always looks away when having blood drawn. Once the process has started, then I can watch the vials fill up. It always amazes me that the tech can switch out the bottles so quickly.
Liked your song too. That happens to me many a night, but not last night. I slept like a baby until pressure washer guy showed up.

Kathie - You did great on your eye exam. Manny looks so cute with his haircut. He actually has a Christmas sock? That's too funny. Bert's mother had made Christmas stockings for our pets too, but we just hung them up because they're so pretty. Nothing ever got put in them.

Karen - Time for an update on Amanda. I hope she's starting to feel better.
I see you just posted an update on Amanda and that news is wonderful! Nice that her friend can stay there with her too.

What's on tap here for today? Hmmm ... I think it's time to get some of the Christmas stuff out once I get the furniture dusted and Bert does the floors. We were supposed to have ribs last night, but Bert got involved organizing the freezers, so ribs will get done tonight instead. And that about sums up the day ahead of us here in lil old Florida!

Have a super Saturday, everyone!

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts got far more tax revenue last year than was anticipated and so, due to a law that I am sure the politicians will be quick to eliminate, refunds were sent out to just about every MA resident who paid state income taxes last year. Our refund was received the other day and was a nice amount, so we went out to Lowes and purchased a new Christmas tree complete with 500 lights. The little artificial tree that we have had for several years was definitely due for replacement. Still have considerable amount left from the refund so Christmas will definitely be a happy one this year. Tree is 7 1/2 feet tall so one of the kids will have to come by to place the angel on top. Neither of us can reach the top and don't feel comfortable climbing on anything to do the job.
Great news about Amanda,KC. Have to marvel at what the doctors can do so well and so quickly these days.
Our friends, Rich and Dianne, reached FL yesterday and are already posting about the 87 degree temperatures they are enjoying. Meanwhile we have cold winds, rain and low temperatures to endure until next week.Oh, the unfairness of it all.
Did manage to go on line and have the USPS hold our mail for the days we will be in Florida, so that saved me a trip to the local post office.
Hope JoAnne and Jeff are doing well, BB. When you talk with her again, wish them a merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Rita and me. It has been a few years since we last saw them.

Bill - Lucky you to get such a nice surprise from your state. No matter how much they take in here in taxes, we'll never see anything from the state with deathsantis in charge. He just looks for more ways to tighten the collar on Floridians, unfortunately.
J&J are not in the best of health. Jeff has a heart condition and uses a walker to get around. Joanne has some sort of stomach condition that she feels came from when they got covid last summer. She really sounded crappy on the phone. I will definitely wish them Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from you and Rita the next time I talk to Joanne.

Good Sunday morning, Bunnies!

So pleased to hear that Amanda's condition is good and improving, KC. Getting her up and walking will make it even better since it improves her circulation. One question today; What are these "life-style" changes she's going to have to make?

Lee; It's very nice to hear that Shaun worked out and met your expectations. Too often these contractor's mouths promise things their a$$es don't deliver. Now don't break yourself down with all this painting. Pace, pace, pace.

It is odd that Manny's groomer didn't have gift certificates, K2. You may just have helped her business.

Yikes BB, needing to clean your roof every 2 years? What kind of crap comes in off that lake? Ribs any good?

Massachusetts returns money to taxpayers when they take in too much? What kind of nutso state are you living in, Bill???

Thinking, that's the key word, thinking about beginning to wrap some Christmas gifts for our out of state kids.

STILL waiting on the holiday spirit to enter my body.

What great news Karen! It’s amazing that folks are up and about so quickly after major surgeries! Once Amanda gets home Leon will have his work cut out for him.
STILL waiting on the holiday spirit to enter my body.
Go to your liquor cabinet. Choose your favourite libation. Open, swig, repeat. And that Dave is how you get Holiday Spirits to enter your body. Wrapping some presents may help too.
While we were working on the basement we kept hearing a strange knocking coming from the back basement. It was coming from our Christmas boxes. I hunted it down and sure enough, the sound was coming from a box marked “‘rapping paper”.
I really can’t say enough about Shaun. He worked clean, did excellent work at a reasonable price and stayed on schedule.
It‘s bothersome to call friends and hear they are not feeling up to snuff Pat. I had quite a conversation with the barber I visited in Kissimmee last winter. He echoed what you have said about the governor. With very few mission tile roofs here I imagine there’s not a lot of call for guys to pressure was them. In some old, upscale areas there are still slate roofs. Hmm. I wonder if they need power washing.
Bonus Bill! A new tree, a dollar for me and you still have a little jingle in your pocket!
I should go. I’m supposed to wait a day before I dust off the walls and ceiling to prep for primer. So I will. The young fella did to good a job for me to screw it up by hurrying the process.
Lu-Ann is off with “The Girl Gang” to our downtown Christmas Market. I‘ll get a load of laundry tended to and who knows what else.
Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!

Good afternoon! Another "Pure Florida" day here in the deep South! 77 degrees right now!

Dave - Everyone in our community has to clean their mission tile roof about every 2 years due to living by the water. Due to humidity and hot weather mold forms on the roof. You get dark, almost black areas on the roof and i can be spotted by anyone going by. Our HOA violations committee keeps on top of things like moldy roofs, driveways or blackened sidewalks. I hate to admit it, but it does keep the neighborhood looking good. Poor guy was here until after 6 last night, which means he worked on the roof for 11 hours! I haven't seen it yet, but taking all that time, I'm sure he did a great job.
The ribs were delicious. I had hoped to get 2 meals out of it, but there's only 1 piece with 2 bones left. Maybe we'll play rock, paper, scissors to see who gets to eat what's left!! LOL

Lee - I hope Lu-Ann and company find lots of goodies at that Christmas market. I wish we had something like that in this area. Unfortunately, the only Christmas market near us is in St. Petersburg. Too long a trip to go to and come home in one day for us.
You are so lucky to have found Shaun. G&E hired a contractor to do the remodeling on their new place. One of the things being done involves removing walls downstairs. One of the walls is a load baring wall. However the guy did the new beam, they're getting cracking upstairs in the bathroom. Now they have to get a steel beam to shore up the ceiling. It's going to cost so much more. They thought they were saving money with this contractor, but he screwed up big time. They aren't sure if he even has insurance. They really screwed up on the decision to hire this guy. Cheap isn't always good.

Got the house ready to put out Christmas stuff, but so far Bert hasn't brought in any of the bins with the stuff in. He's a real Scrooge when it comes to Christmas decorating and such. He needs a good stiff drink of moonshine that Jimmy's friend brought back for us from Kentucky. This stuff is delicious and could put you under the table, if you aren't careful!!

We're supposed to be going to our community's Winter Wonderland later today. It's basically for the kids with rides and all the stuff kids like, including Santa making an appearance. I manage to get thru these kid things by bringing a bit of wine in a to go coffee cup with lid!
Right now it's time to see about lunch. I'm getting hungry! Have a great day, everyone and stay safe if you're out and about. The stores are really crowded.

Happy Sunday Home GIF by Molang
Wow... now this is just what I will be doing later today!
You all have a blessed Sunday!

Sunny and 33F here in Pure Michigan right now. The SUN makes the cold temps tolerable.

Lee: You made me laugh big time with your "Rapping Box in the corner of your basement". You sure are quick with the witty remarks. Love that in you.

DAVE: You asked just what Amanda's "Life Style" changes would be in your post. Well, what comes to mind with all transplants is taking some type of ANTI-REJECTION Meds for the rest of your life. Now, don't quote me on that..... you know I'm still waiting on getting my Cyber Dr's license!

Lee: How nice that the "Girls" are off spending your money at the Christmas Market! Is that Market in A'Burg or Windsor? Nice that it's a sunny day even though it's COLD outside for walking around.

FYI: Here's some USELESS Information. Skip along if you're in a hurry! :emoticon 0100 smile:

I just called Express Scripts and ordered 5 REFILLS for some of the med's I take. Our wonderful insurance policy is CHANGING prescription companies and we were warned to order anything and everything that still has a REFILL available to avoid the craziness that will most likely come on the first of the year for folks needing refills. I totally feel bad for the DOCTORS offices when they get all the calls from people needing NEW PRESCRIPTIONS to give to the new company for items that don't automatically transfer.
I got a letter from Kroger's grocery pharmacy stating they will no longer honor our prescription coverage we now have. I guess the BIG 3 Auto companies found a cheaper company to use for medicines. LORD HELP US! I really liked Express Scripts service. So, I'm good to go for now and don't have to worry until about March. By then hopefully things will be all ironed out with the new carrier.

Negc: With you leaving soon for your cruise and then only being home for such a short amount of time during the
actual Christmas week I would have bought a 4 foot tree that you could cover with plastic and put in a corner of a closet for the next time you need it. Can you tell I have a tad of Bah Humbug in me! Enjoy your new tree. I have a 7.5ft tree in a huge box in the basement I could have given you if you lived closer. :emoticon 0140 rofl:

Karen: Any plans on going out to Maryland to see Amanda when she gets home? I know you'd be there in a flash if she needed you. Hope today is a good day for HER and YOU! :emoticon 0152 heart:

BB: Enjoy those beautiful TEMPS you all are having these days. I envy you big time. Hope you're not working poor Bert too hard with the house cleaning and the oven cleaning. You need to get your Grandson Wes over to do that oven-cleaning and have him make a few bucks. Heck, I bet he could clean your house to your liking with a little helpful instruction and really make a few extra bucks. Never too late to train them.

I'm out of here for now. You all have a good day and stop by and let us know what you did today!

HI THERE BB! Just saw that you posted. Bummer on G&E trying to save a few bucks and getting screwed over by the contractor. Those Steel beams are very pricy. Our next door neighbor had to have a HUGE one put in when he ripped out a main wall between the kitchen and family room to get the "OPEN CONCEPT" look. They had to cut a hole in the floor to get it into the basement! He did mention that they will NEVER BE MOVING after the expense of their remodeling! (not to mention that deck that he has been working on for 5 years) Thank goodness it's finally done!

Enjoy your lunch.
