AMEN & HALLELUJAH, no doctor visits or anything else is on my schedule today. GOOD! I'm NOT one of those people that HAS to get out of the house every day and go somewhere.

So I may go outside and do some weeding while Kathi gets her hair done.

I mentioned Ohio's special election yesterday with only one thing on the ballot. For whatever reason, we didn't ask for a mail in ballot, so we voted in person.

I was thinking it was going to be a quick in & out with only one thing to vote on. Boy was I wrong. It was a zoo. I've never seen so many people at a voting place. Us VOTE NO people won by a good majority. YES!

Thank you guys for explaining what a "Bully Stick" is. I've never heard that term before.

I see you Floridians are still cooking on high. That sucks.

Any of you Wabbits win anything on the Mega Millions last night?

Well.......That's it from Massillon.

Good morning, another bright sunny day in Belleview! Cat's are enjoying a few minutes on the porch this morning before it get's to hot!

Dave, glad to hear the residents of Ohio turned out & made their wishes known! No Mega winnings here, I didn't even buy a ticket.

Pat, I think this has been the hottest summer I can remember in years! Walking down to the mailbox is like traveling in a desert!
Good luck with the bridal shower, Emily Post would be appalled that the brides Mother is hosting!

Lee, hopefully there will be a starbucks treat for you after your early morning car maintenance. That knucklehead counter top guy deserves a Gibbs slap for sure, you don't make clients wait on you for an hour with no call!

Kathie, nice that you got to meet up with Art & the gang, to bad the coffee shop was closed, did they have a problem or just taking a day off?

Bill, In case I forget have a great trip to Aruba! I've only been there twice, the first time we sailed from there & didn't get a chance to explore the island before we left & the 2nd time was a stop on another cruise, Darlene & I did the jeep safari tour, that was a lot of fun!

Busy day yesterday, got out early to weed a neighbors flower bed who is up north for the summer. Then came home & worked in my patio area for a little while before it got to hot. Tried to do some sorting & tossing in the office but kept getting interrupted with phone calls.
Today after church I am going to stop by Betty's and take some of her empty moving boxes to the recycle bin for her. Then this evening my sisters are coming over for pizza & pool time. We've decided to start going around 5 when there is some shade on the pool.
Now I think I'm going to go chill on the porch with the kittys before I get dressed for church, have a good one all!

Good Morning Wrabbits.

Dave: Glad you have a appt free day. Get that weeding done early and the relax with your “weird treats”!
Bravo Congratulations GIF
to OHIO ON VOTING “NO”. Hope the rest of the USA was watching this Red State do the we right thing for a change. Amazing turn-out! :beer4:

Lee: Good to get your Subie taken care of early.

Karen: So does the church have Wednesday services EVER Wednesday or is this a special one. You sure were a busy Wrabbit yesterday. Good going girl!

I’m sitting here on the deck having a waffle and some really good coffee. It’s called Bourbon Blend Roast. It came from the coffee shop the Art goes to with his biker group. Has a rich and amazing flavor.
I’m watching:
1. The ducks pecking around for bird seed droppings
2. The Rabbit under the shrubs getting his share of dropped bird seed from the feeder
3. The Hummingbird feeding on the Honeysuckle bush. Doing a great job going from orange flower to orange flower.
4. Listening to the Bluejay squawking in the distance. He usually stops by after he gets done squawking!
5. Being VERY GRATEFUL to have this beautiful covered deck to enjoy nature from.
6. A picture of the Black-Eyed Susan flowers & Cone Flowers around the deck! And other flowers and my BASIL pots!

Enjoy your day folks! I need a coffee refill. Dang it’s nice out here this morning.

You all got spared the Basil Pot picture. It didn't show up. Ha Ha. Sorry for the large pics. They look good if you're viewing from a big screen monitor.

Have a good day.

Good late morning from steamy Florida. It's 92 already with a feels like temp of 105 already.

Karen - This definitely is one of the hottest summers I can remember since moving here. Last time I saw 100 days was the summer after we moved to Ocala while we were having the pool put in. Surprisingly, we have had less 90+ days so far this year compared to last year. You sure are busy these days between doing things for others and running off to church. Good for you!

Kathie - Beautiful pictures of your garden. You have so many flowers and it's so colorful. Lucky for me that I do have a big screen monitor to enjoy them on. Loved the bunny picture too. You all packed for your trip to Manny World? Just make sure you don't spoil him too much.

Dave - Good for the people in Ohio for not letting the MAGA crowd get their way. Can't believe the crap they try to push down our throats these days. Our wonderful governor just removed our duly elected county prosecutor because deathdantis didn't think she was prosecuting enough people, as compared to other parts of the state. Can you believe the little dictator? It is going to take years to return normalcy to Florida after we're rid of this jerk.

Lee - Talk about an early time for the Subie's check up. Wow! I was just turning over at that point.

Well, looks like we don't have to buy anymore Mega Ball tickets. The whole ball of wax was won by one person down in Little Havana Florida. Seems like most of the big winners are from south Florida or southern California. Both places have large Hispanic populations and if what we see here is any indication, they sure do like to gamble! They buy hundreds of tickets at a time at our Publix!!

We went out for pizza last night, but things didn't go as planned. The place we wanted to go to is closed on Tuesdays, we found out, so we had to go with Plan B and get takeout pizza from another place. Pizza was pretty good and we have leftovers for tonight, so that's a good thing.

Like it or not, we have to go out again this afternoon. Bert has an appointment at our doctor's office to have his ears flushed of ear wax. Hopefully, it will work and he can go get his hearing aids adjusted.

Have a safe one, gang, no matter what you're doing today.

I was just going to ask which one of you Bunnies in Florida won Mega Millions last night but Pat spilled the beans. Unless, of course, she or Bert actually won and she is trying to divert our attention. Whatever, I guess we will all be $2 a week richer until the prize again reaches several hundred thousands.
Once again we escaped the worst effects of the storms but parts of the Cape had were not as fortunate and Mattapoisett experienced a tornado. As far as I know there were no casualties, thank God.
Not much happening around here. HOA dinner twill be held Sunday and we play our final cribbage match Tuesday night and leave for Aruba on Wednesday.

Kathie, beautiful flower pics, mine look like dried up sticks about now, watering just doesn't help enough. Yes, we have church every Wed. morning, and this week a lady started a Bible study group so I joined that, it's from 9-10:15 and then the church service which is really kind of like another Bible study starts at 10:30. Rev. Lisa was so happy & excited today because several of the people from the study group stayed for the church service. We had about 10 people today instead of the usual 3-4. The Wed. service is also live streamed to shut in's and for others who can't attend in person

Good afternoon;
Well, yes there was a Starbucks on my way to The Subie dealer Karen. How did you know? ;) They had told me it would likely be a couple of hours considering that it's about 40 minutes each way I had said that I'd wait. When I got there Maddie said they were short staffed (yes, I told her to hire taller staff) so it may be a tad longer. She already had a 2024 Impreza lined up for me as a complimentary loaner. When I got home we took Ava for a walk around the neighbourhood, I got my 30 minutes in on the treadmill and at 10:30 Maddie called to say Subie was ready. Oh well. So Lu-Ann came back up with me for a drive.
I used to like those 30 - 40 minute shuttles when I covered that position at Wendell's. The down side was that it left the other driver scrambling for a tad over an hour. And vice versa if they got the longer run.
Seems that all of you fine folks won't be spoiled by winning a gazzilion, billion, million dollars. That's OK 'cause I like you all just the way you are.
It is with real sadness that we are reading and seeing the mounting losses due to wildfires in Lahaina. There is a 150 year old Banyan tree in town which I fear may also be a victim of the fires. I can't begin to imagine... Will this effect any of the ports of call on your cruise Nancy?
Good luck at cribbage next week Bill. Hopefully you and Rita will win a little extra "mad money" for your trip to Aruba.
How cool that your congregation streams the service to those who can't attend in person Karen.
Those temps are just a way too hot Pat. On the plus side, take away stays hot on the way from the restaurant to home. Now, you made me think about Kathie and Art vacationing in Manny World. Who will water those beautiful gardens?
What a great segue to toss it over to you to answer that Kathie. Who will be tending your beautiful gardens? I have picked up over 100 spent blooms from the hibiscus this week alone. And it keeps on blooming. We are supposed to get some rain tomorrow which would be a good thing for all the plants and flowers.
Yes, cudos to the fine people of OH for voting the way they did. IT seems of late voter turn out for things is heavier than it used to be. I like to think that people do "get it" and appreciate the importance of voting Dave. If it's as humid there as we are seeing here, don't you be spending too much time outdoors!
Time to get on with whatever the world has planned for me this afternoon.
Be good gang.

Good afternoon. Went shopping this morning. Had to get a new wallet and ended up getting two. The second one is to be used for the cruise and I found a really nice purse to use. Also a couple of cute tops and one dress. That was all at Beall's then it was on to Walmart. And while there I either lost my cane or someone took it from the basket, I did have my back to it a few times. Since my knee is hurting I really have to use the cane. So I just came home.

The Mega Million was won by someone in Neptune Beach, which is near Jacksonville.

Have no idea if the fires will affect the port stop but do know the excursion I have booked probably won't happen as that tow has almost completely burned down.

All have a great day.

Lee: Art will be going biking on Tues and he will stop by the house to check on the plants and water them and get the mail into the house after his bike ride. The park is just a few miles from our house. While he‘s at the house he will shower too. Said he feels more comfortable using his own shower! Duh! I guess I agree with him. Way too much info! Ha ha.

Lee that was a lot of Back & Forth for a oil change. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme: Better you than me.

Karen: Good for you joining the bible class. You’ll have to share the On-Line church service site so I can see just what your services are like. (Only if that is allowed)

Pat: Thanks for the info on the Lottery ticket winner area In Florida. I just hope it doesn’t ruin the persons life having all that money. Some big winners have had big time issues. I told this to ART and he said “He’d learn to deal with any obstacles that would come his way if he won that much money”.
Considering how old we are….I would do my earnest to SPEND EVERY DOLLAR. I bet there would still be some left over. Ha ha.

The fires in Lahania and Maui are hard to look at. We loved walking down Front street and all those cute shoppes. So sad. Got the best pictures on the WEATHER CHANNEL on Comcast.
It’s hard getting off Lahaina on a good day yet alone when it’s on fire.
When we stayed in Kihei we could see Lahania from our condo lanai. There were fires crossing the road from dryness and wind back then. That was like in the middle of the 90’s. People were panicking trying to get out of the area. It’s hard to explain if you never drove through that area.

Art & I went for a drive to Marine City by Lake Saint Clair today. It was perfect weather and we got to see a huge Freighter pass by the restaurant we were having lunch at. I ordered a cool sounding drink and thought it would be in one of those big round snifter looking glasses from what it cost! Well, it came and it was in a MINI snifter glass. If it had a regular size straw in it I could have drank it in 2 sips. So much for a $11 buck drink. Live and learn. The food was delicious, somit made up for the small drink. Ha ha.
I was just glad to get by the water.

FYI: My Sister-in-law is officially in a Assisted Sr Living place 10 mins from her daughters house. Brother George is not doing well. Got that news when we got home. ALWAYS SOMETHING.
Out of here for now.

This was a larger 2 hour service for Subie Kathie. Yes, there was the oil change but also tire rotation, brake service and 31 other checks and software updates. Yep, you read the “software updates” right.
Like you and Art we loved the shops and restaurants along Front St in Lahaina. :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:
Thoughts and prayers for George.

First up; 5 stars go to Kathi for all the time and frustration she went through yesterday to get our living room TV working again. The new little "box" that sits by the TV connecting it to Direct TV arrived, and she installed it. Still no TV. So she then spent multiple hours on the phone with 3 or 4 people trying to get it going. One of the technical-support people even said that it was the TV's fault. FINALLY she talked to a tech that really knew what he was doing. And after just a few minutes he got the TV to work just fine. That lady has a LOT more patience than I do.

Absolutely marvelous pictures K2. And don't ever apologize for large pictures. I think everyone, including me, likes them large. Blessings to your brother and his wife.

You Floridians sure got one dingy Governor who just gets worse with every passing day.

Looks like none of us got to add some more cash to our wallets following the Mega Millions drawing. Still, it was fun to play. Come to think of it, most people don't carry much cash anymore. Just use credit cards. I was shocked when they first started accepting credit cards at McDonald's.

A’Burg Guy

We rarely have more than about $10 cash in our wallets Dave. We have a bakery and a Mom and Pop restaurant in town that are pretty much cash only. If your order is over $50 at the bakery you can use a card. The silliest spot we have to use a credit card is if we want a hot dog at Costco. You walk up to the self serve screen which is your only option. Tap the picture of what you would like to order. Tap your credit card. Get your ticket number and wait to be called. That sets you back $1.50 plus tax is $1.58. On your credit card. Crazy!
I do hope you all have a great Thursday. I’ll check on everyone later on.

Good morning. It is going to be a HOT day, they say the heat index says it will feel like 122 here.

I know that the first excursion I have booked is going to be canceled. It is do your own tour of Lahaina, which has burned down. A total of 36 people have died on Maui due to the fires. At this point I am not sure if we will actually stop in Maui but am sure that NCL will do what is right.

Don't have any real plans for today.

All have a great day.

Good morning! Another hottie for sure today. Our lawn guy has already cut the lawn this morning early. Normally he doesn't get here until mid afternoon. Smart move doing it before the heat really moves in.

Seeing the pictures of the fires on Maui are so heartbreaking. When we went to Hawaii, we stayed in Maui for 4 days. Loved all those little shops and went to a luau there that was awesome. It was so beautiful and they say now that it is all gone. So far they can confirm 36 dead, but who knows how many more will perish before the fires are out?

Kathie - Keeping your brother and SIL in my prayers. This is all so rough on them at this point in their lives. Nice that Art brought you back some special coffee beans.

Dave - Good for Kathi to get the TV working again. I hate having to call DISH Network or anything like that. I always feel like such a dummy when it comes to any type of technology. Bring back the days of 5 channels and "elephant ears wrapped in foil!! LOL

Lee - Your visit to the Subie dealer sounds like out last one to the Cadillac dealer and took just about as long. We rarely use credit cards and just pay cash for everything. That being said, Bert did use a credit card to pay for the service on the Caddy.

Nancy - Sounds like Maui is going to be missed this go round. Have you ever been there before?

Waiting for the guy who checks the breathing machine I use at night to get here for his monthly service of it. I couldn't use it with that life vest, so I'm only ack to using it for a couple of weeks now. Hopefully, my insurance will continue to pay for it.
Also waiting for Missy to come over. She's making smelts for lunch. I don't eat them, but Bert loves them, so she and daddy can pig out on them!!

Tech just pulled in the driveway. Gotta run. Have a super day!!

A’Burg Guy

Ah Smelts. Pat, when I was a little guy the lady that minded me during the summer when I was off school was from Newfoundland and Labrador. She loved Smelts and would pan fry up a bunch of them and make me toasted smelt sandwiches. An acquired taste some would say. I would say that I did acquire the taste. :) I sure hope that the insurance continues to cover you! It's not like breathing is a luxury item.
Another hottie for sure today.
I thought that you were referring to me in a Speedo!
Well Nancy I'm pretty sure that you can and all cruise lines should write off stops in Maui for the foreseeable future. Too many looky loos who would want to see the damage and simply said, put strain on an island and the people who need every resource they have to regroup and rebuild.
Still more than half the day to go and I've already gotten over 110 minutes of exercise in, walked a tick over 5 miles, cut the back yard, taken Lu-Ann to the mall for foaming soap, hit the grocery for fresh berries and sliced those same berries when I got home. I hate it when I waste the morning. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Almost time for lunch. Leftover from last night its shrimp and rice in a Korean sauce and a couple of small sweet King's Hawaiian rolls. Yep, we an get the locally!
It's starting to rain here under sunny skies. Like that makes any sense said no-one ever.
Have a good one.

As of right now Maui is still a port for the cruise. Some people are in Honolulu right now and set for Sat's cruise and so far no email about any change. I am in a couple of groups for NCL Hawaii so get any news about cancelations from them.

Hi Wrabbits! Thanks for the concerns and prayers over my brother and SIL. It's just life taking it's course and I HATE it.

Hawaii Helicopter GIF by Maverick Helicopters
I'm sick over the fires in Maui. Did you see the boats on fire in the ocean? Unreal. The roads are grid-locked with people trying to get out of the area. The road is only 2 lanes. If you've ever driven up the mountain side roads out of Lahaina you know that some of those roads you have to stop and let one car go by a curve and then honk your horn and hope nobody else is coming around. Can you even imagine what is going on with all the smoke/fires/etc now. Lord help those people.
They showed blocks and blocks of parked cars all burned up. Buildings that are old and basically built out of wood decades ago just gone like a matchstick burning.

A a human being I would be ashamed to go onto that island anytime soon. There is going to be lots of construction going on for a long time. There are other places to visit for the time being.
The Governor has put a freeze on any tourist landing at Maui's airport. Good for her.

I love smelt dusted with seasoned flour and fried in a pan. My Mom and Grandmother would do it that way all the time. My younger brother would go SMELTing with his late dear friend +Ronnie all the time at Pte Peely. (sp?) Fresh is the best and it's usually in the Spring when the Smelt run in the waters. (and NO it's not like the running you folks do)

Dave: Kudo's to Kathi for getting the TV to work again. I can feel her pain. I've been there just last week and learned you just keep calling the Cable company until you get a person that knows what they're talking about. I've been known to hang up on the foreign folks when I can't understand them. So frustrating. Most recently the Kitchen TV was my GREATEST QUEST! :clap002:

I'm out of here now to wash the Kitchen floor. Hey, somebody has to do it.... and I'M THAT SOMEBODY!

Have a great day all.

Karen thanks again for the e-mail! :emoticon 0152 heart:

So, so sad to see the pictures of the fires on Maui. I remember that old banyan tree in Lahaina, Lee, and our cruise around the islands a number of years back. That cruise ended up in Vancouver so our flight home was much briefer than our flight to Honolulu at the start of our vacation. Our time in Vancouver also helped me convince Rita that we should go to Alaska, which we did a few years later.
Glad to see that the voters in Ohio defeated the Republican effort to make it more difficult for voters to amend the state constitution.

Weather here, at the moment, is pretty nice with temps in the low to mid 80s, but we are again under a flood watch from about 6pm until sometime Friday morning.
