Good Mid-Morning Wrabvits!
The TREE guys were cutting the last limbs and are doing final clean up. They sure do a nice clean job. As for STUMP GRINDING, I don’t think there is a GRINDER big enough for this project. I can’t imagine how much cost it would add to this job if they actually tried to take down the stumps to the ground level. From what we can see from our deck it looks like the massive stumps are at least 4.5 feet up off the ground.
Just got one of those calls that I usually don’t answer. Some foreign speaking lady calling about my computer. Ha ha. I told her I DON’T HAVE A COMPUTER! This call is a fraud and to take me off her list. Then I hung up before she could go on with her speech!
Dave: Good to know you’re latest eye surgery went well.
Now about the Windows NOT being washed inside or outside for over 10 years, please tell me that’s not true! You’ll have to wash them just to make sure your NEW VISION is working!:emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Art is outside cleaning up dead Arborvitae branches that fall under the huge shrubs. The darn Squirrels do a good job of biting off pieces when they make their nests. DARN RODENTS!

We have 2 small Apple trees on the lower part of the property that we are going to cut down this year. They don’t produce any fruit anymore and always need to have the “sucker branches“ trimmed every year. Our next door neighbor has a small power hand saw and LOVES to cut down small trees. We’ll ask him to help us out. His reward will be HOMEMADE FOOD!
The stumps on these trees are no bigger than 6 inches across.

Mike:

Our Hostas plants are all popped up about 2 inches. Also, Art’s Crocus‘s are bloomed out. He only has two bulbs that have survived after 30 some years.
Pink and Purple. They’re cute.

Karen:

Hope you had a good day today at church. Hopefully, all the clean-up around the grounds are done for awhile.
Good move on just doing a few little touch ups to your bathroom and saving some big bucks.

Okay Wrabbit friends I’m out of here until later tonight. Enjoy your day.
Looks like we’ll all have a nice one.

Ashley made it home from her lovely Cancun vacation. She was so lucky that one of the girls Mom’s had a Club Membership to this All-Inclusive place and they didn’t have to pay for beach cabanas and anynof the other extra’s that they actually CHARGE PEOPLE! The refrig was stocked with goodies and they had full bottles of top shelf booze ( they were asked before they came what type of liquor they wanted) ready on the counter. Talk about being totally spoiled. Jill said Ash will never have been able to afford such a lovely place without the lady’s perks. She deserved all of this. She’s a hard working young lady.
Yup, I’m bragging on my Granddaughter! Ha ha.

Enjoy your day.

Then there’s Big Bertha Willow next door! Rotten to the core. One huge branch broke off during the Winter wind storm

If you can enlarge the photos you’ll see just how huge these tree stumps are.

Kathie, those stumps can be be cut down a lot more. even down to about 6 inches above the ground. At that height they could put large flower pots on them and look nice.

Nancy: I think it's more of a COST factor than if they could be cut down more. I'm sure that job was very costly. Add any more cutting and it might have just broke the bank. Their house is far enough away that I don't think they'd be putting any pots on the top of the stumps if they had cut them down anymore. These people are not flower folks. Who knows, they may be getting ready to sell their house and just wanted to clean things up. Those trees were very messy!

Thanks for the pictures of the stumps, K2. Now I can see what your neighbors are dealing with. And yes those stumps can be cut closer to the ground before decent sized stump grinders grind what's left below ground level. Tree services hate using their chain saws close to the ground because the bark is full of dirt and sand. Which quickly dulls the blades of chains saws. It's costly but taking everything below dirt level can be done. And is done regularly around here on trees that size.

Our windows are cleaned on a regular basis. But before I had the cataracts removed, it was like looking out of windows that hadn't been cleaned in 10 years. (I never realized how bad my vision had become over the decades, since everything fogged up so slowly.)

Like Lee, I always ask for morning doctor appointments. I sure have got a doozy today. I've got a routine CT exam which is at 6:45.

I'd bet that one, or both of us, will head back to bed when we get back home.

I’m back from my morning walk and staying up so I guess it’s you Dave who’s heading back to bed. You were talking about you and I, weren’t you? I was going to do our windows but today and tomorrow are supposed to be wet and then temps head to the mid 30’s F for highs!
Those must have been some good sized trees before they came down Kathie. I wonder if removing the stumps that close to the creek might cause the bank to erode too much? Why is the middle stump in the second picture wearing a “hat”? I’m stumped. Braggin’ on Ashley is a good thing! We know how proud you are of Jill, Mark, Ash and Eric.
We’re dropping off a thank you today to the folks who watched the house and took in the mail while we were away. Except for the week they spent with us in FL. I just hope it’s not raining and storming until after we get Ava to The Navy Yard and over there.
Enjoy your day, whatever it may bring.

Good morning, never made it on long enough yesterday to post so figured I'd better take care of that before another day got away from me!
Dave, glad to hear the check up went well and that your vision is so much better. I wonder if the reason I didn't notice such a change in mine is because mine never got really bad? Hope the scan goes well this morning.

Kathie, those are some pretty huge stumps! I can well imagine how much money they spent taking those big ole things down!

Mike, just say the word & I'll be happy to trim back those rose bushes for you, my rates are very affordable, in the words of the old tv show, have Food, will travel :)

Lee, thanks for the John Denver tunes, he caught quite a bit of flack over the Toledo song, but I believe he ended up visiting & being given the Keys to the city.

Got a little more yard work done yesterday, it's been sunny & mild so perfect working weather. Today is inside Spring cleaning, changing out my big winter rugs & window curtains.
Soup supper was nice last night but not a lot of people which is a shame. Not much else going on, have a great day all!

Good morning. Last night Benihana's was busy but we did okay. Bruce did not get a drink there because we were going to Chili's for dinner and they had $4.99 Margaritas, which were good. And we had a coupon for $10 off a $40 order so that was nice. We both had so much we brought home food for lunches.

This week is Spring Break for Max so Jennifer took the week off and everyday they go someplace else and she has been posting photos after. Yesterday they went to Brooksville to a local restaurant which has a store and they sell cowboy boots and hats, so Max did try on a hat for a photo. I told Jennifer that it looked goo but he would need one size up. She replied he was not into cowboy hats but taking a photo was okay.

I know the cost of removing trees is high. We had some trimmed and that was high, I asked about removing one tree, a tall but not wide Pine tree and was told $1500, so it stays.

All have a great day.

Good (almost afternoon) Wrabbits.

Dave: That’s one EARLY appt. Yikes, I like getting a early start on appts, but I don’t think I have a doctor that starts that early in the office! Good for you.

Like Lee mentioned….it’s suppose to rain this afternoon and my outside window cleanong will have to wait. It doesn’t take long to do with my extension pole, but I‘ll wait for a guaranteed dry few days.

Lee, you might have a valid point on CREEK EROSION if they would saw down and remove the entire stumps on those trees. I’ll have to ask Greg what the reason for leaving them was when I see him out and about.

Karen:
If you lived a TAD closer to Mike & Fay, we could plan a SPRUCE UP THEIR GARDEN DAY! I’m sure we could get Lee and Lu-Ann to join in. And Dave & Kathi could Supv! Ha ha.
Karen I totally did the spare bedroom bedding yesterday. Even got to put the comforter and blanket out on the deck rail to dry. Smelled so fresh when I brought it in.
I give you EXTRA KUDOS for changing out curtains and rugs. Wow!

Bill: What’s going on down in your area? Anybody in the community pool yet?

Starting to cloud up over here! I have a feeling Art and his bike buddy’s will be getting a little WET today.

Out of here for now.
Trying to stay away from the Lemon Blueberry coffee cake I made yesterday.

Sad news: Talked to my single fantastic neighbor yesterday and asked how he was doing. Well, he said: “not so good “. His company got SOLD and the owner had all the workers come into his office Tuesday and told them the bad news. The new owner bought the place for the PRINTING MACHINERY and all the workers got their pink slips.
They were also told their last day was the following day and their “insurance” ends today (Thurs!). What a low handed thing to do to all those loyal workers.
My neighbor, Art, worked so hard for this company. He saved the owner big bucks by fixing the antique machines to save him money. I’m sick over this situation. Art has put his 2 kids through college on his own and works odd jobs on weekends to make it all work.

Please say a prayer that he will find a new and better job ASAP. Thanks. He’s one of the few good guys left around.

Now go out and enjoy your day.

Thinking of heading to the nearest Indian casino to see if the Seminoles are as generous as the Mohegans back in CT are.
I assure you that all of us are extremely grateful that you do your singing "so lo", Lee. Does Ava accompany you by howling along?

That was yesterday and apparently I failed (once again the press the 'Post reply' button).
Can't claim it was lack of sleep cause while Lee and Dave were up and about, I was 'down and out'.
Casino was a fun though not financially rewarding time so we only spent a couple of hours there. Commuting to and from took about as much time and if there is a more boring highway than Florida's route 70, I have yet to find it.
Like Dave and Lee, I prefer morning appointments but not as early as 6:45. I want to be sure that the doctor or tech who is testing me has benefited from a good night's sleep.
Until very recently the weather hasn't exactly been conducive to pool activity so we haven't ventured up to the pool as yet. Getting into and out of the pool would also be a bit problematic though we did manage it when we were on the ship.

K2, when you mentioned the very large tree that was cut down the first thing that popped into my mind was that is a lot of toothpicks. I'm sorry, I can't control my craziy mind. Nice pictures. The stumps could have been cut at that size but straight across, water for butterflies, bird seeds or flowers, I should have check our hostas. we have one that is a deep blue which is my favorite.
Nancy It got up to 74 yesterday, got on the lawn tractor and checked out the wild flowers that are coming up in the back yard. I started with one small bunch of them and t hey are spreading nicly/ nicely?????there is a spelling rule about that but I can't remember it/ I thought I did not have spell check n there, but just now it started to work.
Lee, I wish a state trooper would pick up the guys that zoom around me, then dart back in front of me to get one car ahead of me then do it again, cutting off people and making us slam on our break.
Bill, something must be wrong with my speakers, I can't understand a word or pick out the instruments in the songs, I hope my son can figure it out.
Glad you vision is continuing to impove Dave. Will you need reading glasses or prescription glasses now/ I didn't realize people got up at 6:45.
Lee, you pass by fairly close our home everytime you say hi to Carl and Marcia. If you have time on one of your trips, maybe you can stop and viisit us for a w hile. Dave, K2 and I went to Marcia's funeral. Hamilton is a neighboring city of Fairfield. I have heard dumb as an ox but not d;umb as a stump.
We only plant a few things but everyone is welcome over to dig some holes and drop in some plants or seeds. Thanks for the great ideal K2. I hate to see what my Cleveland pear would cost to cut down and remove the stump;
Karen, I can rent you my chain saw or saws all for the rose bushes, don't know how well that would work on rosebushes. When ever I trimmed them I look like I have been stung by a hundred hornets.

Spring cleaning SUCKS!!! But my house does look & smell nice & fresh but I think this is the last of changing out rugs & curtains for the season. I was beat & skipped choir practice tonight.

Kathie, that is a shame about your neighbor I do hope he is able to find a decent job soon but it get's harder & harder once you reach a "certain" age, which I think is ridiculous!

Mike, I think I could tackle the rose bushes without the chain saw unless it's been more that a year or two since they were trimmed.

Bill, sorry the Florida Indians were not as generous as the ones back home.

Think I am going to take a Tylenol pm & call it an early night tonight. I still have the master bedroom to clean tomorrow but it shouldn't take to long cause it just had a good cleaning when I finished painting a couple weeks ago. Catch up with you all in the morning

Karen: I'm going to join you with a Tylenol. I don't have the PM kind, but just a plain Tylenol will help ease my headache. Don't be over-doing all that cleaning girl.

What an evening.
I've been on the phone with a credit card company for way too long.
Good thing I called to check and see WHY I haven't received my NEW Credit Card with a new account number on it yet.
Well, the nice lady said it did not get sent out! LORDY. Doesn't anybody do their jobs anymore. I called twice to check on that card being sent and both times they said OH YES! Ha Ha.
Well, now the nice lady said it should be here on Monday! Yeah right!
Meanwhile, I need to get the NEW NUMBER to a few places that I use that card.
Like my HP Instant Ink
Amazon
and my church donations.
I only use that card for those things. THANK GOODNESS.

This all happened because of a Facebook HACK! And Facebook trying to correct things. I'm about ready to DELETE FACEBOOK for good.

Okay, that's my evening RANT. I feel better now that I got it all out.

Good Friday morning, Bunnies! Let's see what today brings.

I'll tell you one thing about a medical test at 6:45 AM; There's not a problem finding a parking spot.

Yesterday it was nice and warm. At sunrise it became sunny, then mid-morning it rained. Then it became sunny again, but at 2 PM it rained again. Once again the sun came out, until it rained again around 6 PM. This time with thunder. Again it cleared out. Until it rained and thundered again around 9 PM. Sadly, at least 6 people got killed last evening here in northern Ohio from the tornados these storms kicked up.

You got me thinking about those stumps, Lee. I figure that it's only a matter of time till the tree's roots start rotting away. Whether the stumps are there, or not.

KC; I wouldn't be surprised if word got out in your neighborhood about your spring house cleaning and people were asking you to clean their houses too.

That is a total bummer K2 that your neighbor lost his job with only 1 day's notice. The owner was not only greedy but cruel. What a nasty man!

As long as you had fun at the casino Bill, it was worth the trip.

I don't need reading glasses, Mike. Only a new prescription for distance. "See ya at the next red light", is what I think when I see some zoomer racing around me and other cars around town.

Pets are funny. I was up around the usual time with Miss Ava this morning. She headed straight to the back door instead of the garage man door. Well, sometimes I have to pee in a bit of a hurry too so I let her out back. She looked around, did what she had to do, ran back and straight back to bed! So, I’m having an early coffee ‘cause once I’m up, I’m up.
Our rain started here yesterday morning, continued throughout the day turning into thunderstorms before, like you Dave, turning bright and sunny. Followed by more rain.
Is there no state protection for employees like Art Kathie? I find it unimaginable that someone could buy a company and boot the employees with 24 hours notice. Clearly these folks trusted the old owner and likely didn’t have the protection a union and collective agreement may have provided. We had an email from AmEx asking that we verify our information by sending scans of photo id and some other info. I called the number on our AmEx card and they said yes, they are required by Canadian Law to ensure that we are who we say we are. Those bad guys sure can make emails look official though!
Bill, Ava rarely makes a sound. I think she may hum along because she doesn’t know the words. Good job accepting a small donation from The Seminole Nation.
I don’t mind spell check Mike until it tries to decide what I want to say and puts its own spin on sentences. I’ll have to remember to wave in the direction of Fairfield. We used to be a tad over three hours from the border. Now we’re 30 minutes.
Hope you slept well after a busy day Karen. You’re going to need a bigger business card to fit everything you do for yourself and others on it!
Have a fantastic day everyone.

YUP.........another week has snuck past us Wrabbits! Enjoy your day folks.

It's BREEZY outside and the SUN disappeared for now.

I have NOTHING for you dear folks this morning.

I need to do some "CLEANING" around here today..... like the silly Kitchen floor needs to get washed. It's times like this I wish I had a "housekeeper"! I'm just too cheap to hire one. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

You all have fun today! Karen.......take a break after you get your room cleaned. You deserve it.

Good morning. Did not sleep very good last night, only got 4 hours this morning. But I have been out and signed over the title of the boat, since I had to get a replacement title it cost me $11.50 so that was not bad. No other plans for today.

All have a great day.
