Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

It was more "making a small donation" than accepting one, Lee, but as Dave said, it was worth the trip because we had fun.
Glad to hear the second cataract operation went so well Dave, but you and I probably need glasses or magnifiers to read Mike's posts.

Finally finished a book I have been reading for a while because last night's TV offerings were so poor. I'm still waiting for someone to explain what TV executive decided to
green light "Elsbeth". Adding insult to injury last night it was a repeat of the premier show that first was shown about a week or two ago. Don't think it was worth watching the first time and certainly not a second.
Our friends, Rich and Dianne, and Phil and Jeanette left today for an 8 night cruise out of Port Canaveral. It is on the same ship that Rita and I and our family sailed on in December with the same itinerary except that Turks and Caicos has replaced Labadee on the itinerary. I will be interested to hear their opinion of Turks and Caicos since our only time there was late at night when the ship diverted there to offload a passenger who was experiencing a medical emergency and had to be med-evaced back to the states. We couldn't see much of the island since it was dark and no passengers were allowed off the ship.
Seems a shame that those tree stumps couldn't have been cut quite a bit lower. Certainly nothing aesthetically appealing about them in their current state.
Has the magic number been reached when everyone begins to buy Powerball tickets?

We actually opened the windows to let a little of the 56F breeze through the house Kathie. If you call the police and tell them you've had a break in they will come and dust. for prints....
We bought a power ball ticket before we left FL Bill. I had to put it with our US money because it was a $2 winner! We'll cash it in next winter. Lu-Ann was looking forward to Elsbeth. The second episode was delayed because of President Biden's State of The Union Address and then by March Madness. She thought the premise sounded like an Aussie lawyer program we watch, "Fisk".
I hear a bottle of wine being opened! Or as I like to say, "Sip Happens"...

Good evening!

Bill, I've never watched any of the show Elsbeth, just watching the commercials was enough to convince me it wasn't something I'd be interested in.

Kathie, glad you were able to get the credit card issue straightened out. I did take a break after the bedroom was finished too!

Lee, I would be dropping Amex before I sent them my ID or anything like that. The investment company that I have an annuity with wanted clients to register with an online ID company in order to access their account online, I declined & just wait for my quarterly statement now. There are to many data breaches for me to feel comfortable putting that info out there.

Dave, so did you treat yourself to breakfast since you were out & about so early yesterday morning? Glad you guys are ok after those terrible storms yesterday!

Not a whole lot going on around here, went to a concert at church tonight, it was a string ensemble. They were very good, but again the turn out from church members was very sparse.
I've got a coupon for free pancakes from Ihop so I may take myself there in the morning.
Have a great evening all!

First up; I'm correcting what I mentioned yesterday morning. When I first got up they said on the news that at least 6 people were killed in Ohio from the storms and tornadoes Thursday night. But just 2 hours later they corrected that to at least 3 people died. Same channel and network. Still sad, but half the deaths.

Lee; I don't like one little bit that you need to Email proof of your identity. I wonder what numb-nuts desk jockey came up with that idea.

How's that knee coming along K2? I wonder how it reacts to cleaning floors and other stuff.

KC; No we didn't stop anywhere for breakfast after my 6:45 AM CT-scan. Kathi just wanted to go home and go back to bed. You are so right about there being WAY too many data breaches. Almost every day you hear about another scam or breach.

Under my favorite category of "Frozen & Sweet", starting next Tuesday Wendy's is coming out with a Frosty flavored as an orange creamsicle. That sounds YUMMY! And, you betcha I'm going to try one.

Or 2.......or 3.......or.... :)

Brrrr. 34F here as day dawns.
So tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day. Which is also known as St. Paddy’s Day. My question is why is it “Patrick” one way yet “Paddy” the other?
It seems all financial institutions here in Canada have “a regulatory obligation to periodically verify client’s identity“. No doubt some archaic law from the Stone Age. Same logic, I suppose, as having to stop in Mexico or Canada on Hawaiian or Alaskan cruises. And that doesn’t make sense either!
Creamsicle can be a tricky flavour to get right. It should be OK in a frosty though Dave. We tried a creamsicle cookie once. And only once…
If you do “hop” over to IHoP Karen, I hope your pancakes are tasty! Was the string ensemble classical or did they toss in the odd contemporary tune?
Lu-Ann watched the pilot for Elsbeth last night. She got a kick out of it. Like with most TV shows, I wasn’t really paying attention. Which suggests to me it wasn’t holding my interest.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning. Well I got a FULL good nights sleep. I made biscuits, sausage, eggs and gravy for breakfast this morning. It was really good. Only plans for today is watching NASCAR. They are at Bristol and this year no dirt. Trucks and cup no Xfinity.

All have a great day.

Good Mid-Morning Wrabbits! It's only 47F degrees here right now and only getting into the mid-50's later. SUNNY is the best part so far. The BUDS on all the trees are popping. Yup, a good sign of Spring.

Dave: My favorite Ice cream was the PUSH UP Orange/Vanilla Creamsicle! Loved those.
I'll have to give Wendy's flavor a try next time I pass by one. I like their Chili.

DAVE.......I don't do the kitchen floor on my hands and knees anymore. Gave that up when we had the place remodeled. I did get down on my "NEW KNEE" to look at something in the cabinet under the sink area the other day. I had a knee pad that I use in the garden and put the pressure on the new knee very carefully and it wasn't bad. I'm sure it will get better as it heals inside. I can walk down the basement stairs these days without stopping on each step. That's progress as I see it.
Hope your EYES :)cool:) are doing good for you.

Karen: Good for you treating yourself to Ihop pancakes. Makes me want to make a few Blueberry pancakes here. I use the box mix where you just add water and then I add some blueberries on top before flipping the pancake. They're not bad. It's the old Aunt Jemima brand. (I can talk myself into making them for lunch) Ha ha.

Lee/ Bill: Never heard of the TV show Elsbeth. I'll have to look that up. Lately paying for Cable channels is a waste of good money. Every time I click on a channel it says you have to SUBSCRIBE to get it. I must have 500 channels and for the most part they're useless.

I got a notice in my e-mail area that the new Bank Credit Card has been shipped and it even gave me a tracking number. It's already here in Michigan and should be delivered Monday. Thank goodness I was on top of checking to see why I hadn't received it yet. Amazing how we have to do the thinking for people that are supposed to do that and get PAID to do it.

Mike: It was nice to read that you took your riding lawnmower for a spin around the yard the other day. Nice to know it's still working. Just be very careful. And don't be messing with those ROSE BUSHES. If your skin is as thin as Art's you'll be looking like chopped liver quick.
I swear that Art gets bruises on his arms just from saying the word. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Out of here to refresh my coffee: ENJOY YOUR DAY WRABBITS.

Dave- I like popsicles and fudgicles, but have never cottoned to creamsicles for some reason.
Elsbeth was a minor, somewhat comical character on "The Good Wife", K2 and not, IMO worthy of a series of her own. Sort of like a female "Monk".
It appears that Rita's car will be picked up for transport back to MA on April 1, 2, or 3. (we'll get a firmer date soon). So we are hoping to fly home from Vero Beach on the 4th. Hard to make final plans until we have a definite date

Good afternoon!

Kathie, good idea not doing the floors on your hands & knees, I gave up doing that a LONG time ago. It's hard enough getting back up when I'm on my knees weeding.

Dave, haven't had a creamsicle in ages, used to be one of my favorites in grade school.

Lee, the ensemble was mostly classical, but they did toss in a Beatles tune, Michele. I did make it to Ihop & now I remember why I quit going. My "free" pancakes cost me $4 for a cup of coffee plus tip and they weren't all that great. Oh well, I did find some good deals at Dollar tree on my way to breakfast.

Bill, bummer that they can't give you a firm date sooner so you can book your flights, that's got to be pricey having to wait till the last minute.

Hot & sunny here again today. Did a little puttering in the back patio area. It needs to be pressure washed but that may have to wait till fall or I may hire someone if I can find someone reasonable. It's not that big of an area but prices for handyman stuff has gone crazy lately.
Need to get the clothes out of the dryer & then I think I'm just going to sit & read for a while. Have a great day all!

Just spent 1/2hour watching cat and kitten videos. As I said before, I would get a cat but Fay won't take care of it. When I was about 6 years old I brought about 10 cats home.
Fay has not been able to get on her knees since her knee operation. I can't kneel because of the pain, I never could knee in church.
I like aniy kind of ice cream as long as it is chocolate. We will have a dish of ice cream once in a while and I llke private selection moose tracks and Fay likes sea salt and caramel
good night.

You're on stage next, Mike!

A Creamsicle cookie, Lee? No wonder you didn't like it, it's definitely not cold.

I'd forgotten about those "Push-Up" frozen treats, K2. Not only tasty, but also fun to eat.

Refresh my memory Bill; Is your car transported back up north by a driver or on the back of a truck?

KC; Boy do Identify with you on getting back upright after doing something on my hands and knees. When I do weeding I make sure I have a sturdy plastic chair next to me. Not only something to hold onto on the way down, but something to grip to get back up.

One last shout-out to St. Paddy's Day;

HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY! Hallmark has a card for that.
Boy, did we have some hail storm last evening. Did you get any Kathie? I bet people that don’t use their garages will be checking this morning to see if their vehicles look like a well dimpled golf ball!
Sorry your “free” breakfast was disappointing Karen. From what I read in while in FL, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar are closing over 1,000 locations! So many folks depend on them for everything from “soup to nuts” and seasonal decorations.
I guess I’m still fortunate in that I’m able to get down on my knees. And more importantly get back up again!
Those step dancers just amaze me! I strike a dashing figure in a gown Dave. People are dashing in the other direction!
I’m not as big a fan of ice cream as I once was. But I did love a good dark chocolate ice cream Mike. Or chocolate with peanut butter.
We have cut our cable to the bare minimum package Kathie. Almost like old “bunny ears” tv. We get basic network channels, channels the government says we MUST get (do I really need 3 indigenous channels and the parliamentary channel?) and that’s it. We rotate subscriptions to streaming channels and watch what we like when we want.
We did catch up on the NCIS tribute to David McCallum Bill. It was, as you said, very nicely done. Too bad Gibbs and Abby didn’t show up in anything more than clips.
I suspect today will see a trip to the grocery store. The excitement is overwhelming.
Have a great Sunday everyone.

St Patricks Day Irish GIF by Amanda | Happy Magic Co.
Thanks for the video's Dave. Art's brother "Patrick" was born on St Patty's Day as well as one of our nephews. (the son of the other nephew that has the bar. They're having Corned Beef & Cabbage, etc to celebrate at the bar today)
We were just there on Friday for the delicious Walleye Fish dinner. It's so good.

37F and WINDY here this morning. Not supposed to be much better all week.

Lee we DID NOT get any rain or hail in our area. Rain is one thing, but that HAIL sure does cause a lot of grief for folks when it hits their cars.

Karen: Good to know you'll be enjoying your patio and just chilling out. Bummer about the iHop breakfast. You would think they could throw in a cup of coffee with the deal.

I have nothing more for you folks. GAS PRICES are going up and up and a nice Sunday Drive to see the water or boats is costly these days. I think we'll be staying home.

Later gang.

Good morning and HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY. I will be cooking corned beef and cabbage for our dinner. Will watch the race this afternoon. And that is our day. Bruce's one Grandmother came over from Ireland as a teenager. To get in the country since she was not with her parents she said she was a year or so older than she really was. Everything about this was fine except when she died and it took months for Bruce's Aunt to straighten things out.

All have a great day.

Back from our morning chores. Which included a trip to the "when did this stuff get to pricy" store, a.k.a. the grocery store.
Anyway, Something I found amusing was that when we arrived in Florida and picked up fresh strawberries and blueberries they were distributed by Driscoll's headquartered in Watsonville, CA. Did Tony's daughter and family not live in Watsonville? That's the same Driscoll's that distributes those berries to us here in The Burg. But that's not the really amusing thing. At that point the strawberries AND blueberries in Publix were from Mexico. We were 45 minutes from Plant City. Strawberry capital of the universe! We didn't see Plant City berries until it was almost time to come home. Anyway, today we picked up Driscoll's Strawberries at our local grocery. While the blueberries were still from Mexico the strawberries were from Florida. And the same size containers we were paying roughly $5USD for in FL were $3CDN here today.
Now, you can all get back to your regularly scheduled Sunday...

Happy St. Patrick's Day when everyone claims to be Irish and "the wearing of the green" is the uniform of the day. We hope to be checking out a local Irish pub for some corned beef and cabbage but not sure if advance reservations are required. If that fails, our fallback position is a Jewish delicatessen downtown, that is featuring corned beef and cabbage and other Irish foods the entire week.
Our car is going back inside a truck with several other vehicles, Dave. Scheduling pickup and delivering all those vehicles is the reason that we have only a range of possible dates but it does make purchasing our airline tickets a bit more difficult.

Good afternoon & Happy St.Patricks day! Summer seems to have arrived in Florida a bit early, it's been hot as heck here today!

Dave, those videos were amazing! I remember last year on Amazing Race on of the challenges was the fancy dancing like in your video. I'd never heard of Celtic Women before but their voices gave me goose bumps!

Kathie, how cool to have family born on St. Patty's day! Guess free pancakes fall into the same category as no such thing as a free puppy. It's going to cost you one way or another.

Lee, the strawberries from here have been less than impressive. Barb & I even went to a strawberry farm & I picked my own but they just didn't have the flavor that I remember from growing up. Hope you didn't have any damage from the hail.

Bill, hopefully you can find a place for your irish dinner without to much trouble. I've never been a fan of corned beef & cabbage, I'll take the cabbage but pass on the corned beef.

Went to church this morning & was sure to put in a word or two for all of you. One of my other friends from the Villas came this morning too. She had come to the soup supper on Wed. & decided to try out the Mass too. Since I didn't go to choir practice on Thurs. I didn't stay to sing at the 10:30 mass, but got to go over to the Parish hall for coffee this morning with my friends instead.
After church I went to Walmart to pick up 9 bags of mulch for the church flower beds, but they didn't have the kind I wanted so ended up going to Lowes instead. Stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few supplies & then came home to fix lunch.
I didn't sleep well last night, it was after midnight before I fell asleep & then woke up at 6. I did manage to doze a little bit before I had to get up at 7. I may take a short snooze on the porch with the ceiling fan going. Have a great day all!

Happy St. Patricks Day. Dave, those videos were fantastic. Anne Miller has nothing on them. . I always liked the very fast steps they do. One of our friends daughters didthem and they were very good. The Mother came from Ireland and insisted her daughter learn to do the dance. The Celtic singing Oh Holy Night is one of my favorites
I also need something grab onto to help me get up so I dont get on the floor any more than I have to. I have been for years when standing up from sitting on a chair I do not use any support or help from my arms. I can't hold my arms out and stamd up from the sitting position ten times aniy more. Coffee time

Found an excellent Irish pub in downtown Vero Beach. It was jam packed with folks celebrating the holiday but we were able to be seated at a booth almost immediately and the service was terrific. There was a live band playing when we walked in and a bit later a bagpiper walked through so it was a very lively bunch. While I have sometimes had better corned beef but it was certainly more than acceptable and the whole experience was very positive experience and a great way to celebrate our Irish heritage.
