WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!
A good day at Jim’s followed by a quick walk at The Navy Yard with Lu-Ann and Ava and then our final PD dance class. Today Kaydence led us in a few steps from Michael Jackson’s Halloween tune “Thriller”. Sadly there were only 5 of us but we had five smiling, laughing faces.
With Mexico’s “Day of The Dead” festival just around the corner Kathie, your cookies seem a perfect fit!

At 8:00 pm on Thurs evening I got a call from FR DAVE!
All is good!
He wanted to let us know he won't be checking in until his ATT service is restored!
NO TV
NO CELL
NO anything to do with ATT!
The
Service Man is suppose to come Friday, sometime between 12-4pm.
He didn't want us to worry why he wasn't checking in!

I told him I would report this info to all of the Hutch Wrabbits!

Lee: Glad you had a good day.
The cookies turned out really good. And how timely of me to have them made for the Mexican Festival. I always thought that was in May!

Out of here folks. Have a good evening and FRIDAY. Scattered rain showers on board for us here.

Thank you Kathie for letting us know about Dave’s lack of communication services. Yes, we’d worry. Cinco de Mayo is the May holiday celebrating Mexico’s defeat of The French. Day of The Dead is the November, sometimes late October, day to pay respects to departed family and friends. How do I remember stuff like that from school?
And on those cheery notes I bid you all a good evening.

Mexican wedding ball, I first knew them as Greek wedding balls, then Russian wedding balls, whatever the name, I never was too fond of them. Fay makes them as she likes them and so do our kids. Thanks for the date info but this is 2012.
Lee, used to (there's those two words again.) think 40 degrees was a great temperature, now I think it is freezing. Ohio retired teachers also have very good Medical and prescription Insurance. We would be in deep trouble without it.
Dave, my first car was a 45 pontiac. Bought it in Ky, brought it to Ohio the next year and it quickly rusted out.
Kc I have to agree with Dave, know when to say no.

Another quick good morning to everyone.
Those of us with any kind of medical benefits are so fortunate Mike. We wish, even for a fee, we could have continued with our work health benefits. Was your ‘45 the model with one colour on the body and the white roof? I wonder what it would be valued at today?
I’ll get a quick cup of coffee, feed Ava, and if she’s still sleeping wake Lu-Ann and be on my way to Jim and Gail’s basement.
You fine folks all enjoy today. Even if you are in a spot, like here, where a little rain is predicted to fall.

OH, the "magic" of electronics!

He's back! Hide the children and small animals.

Got the computer, the TV, and even the land-line phones at our house up and running.

After Kathi spent hours on her cell phone with tech-help to get everything working.......which didn't work.......All it took was one young fella from AT&T less than 40 minutes to make it so. He called ahead of his scheduled time, and arrived earlier than his scheduled time. Super friendly and knew his stuff. We both give this AT&T service tech two thumbs up.

Turns out our computer modem died which means we lost our Wi-Fi.

I can see losing the computer and the TVs which are connected to it, but why our 4 telephone land lines? Although they are plugged to the wall, all of them are cordless, which must need Wi-Fi to operate.

A nice bonus, no charge for parts or service since it was all AT&T equipment.

It's funny that within 20 minutes after the tech got everything working, I got a phone call from our car mechanic saying that my car was fixed and ready to be picked up. So a new strut and tire were replaced at $100 LESS than the estimate. $520 instead of $620.

All in all, I'd say yesterday was a very good day. :)

And seeing Dave’s smilin’ post this morning means things are back as they should be. Well, in our little corner of the world.
Great news for cost of the strut and tire. Funny, it used to be that if you had a land line and there was any kind of power disruption the land line would still work. Now your power, modem or “hub” goes down and nothing works. Bring back those old rotary or push button phones I say.
Lu-Ann, Lisa and I went out to Cooper’s Hawk Winery last evening for dinner and show. The entertainment was a “medium“ (trust me, she was at least an XL, well past medium). But I digress. Wine was overpriced for the event at $12 a glass. A good pour though as our Pat would have said. The chicken, green bean and most amazing potatoes were excellent. The fancy pumpkin spice donut just didn’t seem the right finish. Frankly, Bella was not at all good. I think I could have conjured up as many “memories” from audience members by reading the crowd and throwing out as many very vague multiple choice guesses as she did. Many folks, us included, left before her show ended. I wonder if she saw that coming?
Not sure what’s on tap for today. But I do know that I want it to be a good day for all of you!

This is from FRIDAY! I forgot to hit Post It! Ha ha.
Had my Eye Field Test done and am now waiting to review it with someone!!

We have a light drizzle here this morning. Not suppose to last too long. Dreary outside.

I’ll be dropping off some. Mexican Cookies to the kids after this appt. And I’ll get to see Mr Manny too!

They have a nice coffee machine in this waiting area. Not bad coffee for a Dr’s office!

Karen: Hope your Dizziness is better.

Later gang!’

Hi Wrabbits.
I got up and went for a drive to Lake Orion Two to meet up with Art and the kids at the coffee place! Art had one other biker riding along today.
Sunny and 52F. Nice leaves falling on the winding road to the coffee house! Passed 1 small Cider Mill and the parking lot was full! The BIG ones will be doing a bang up business today!

Dave glad you (Kathi) got the phones etc working again.

Early IN-PERSON voting started today. Say your prayers gang. I wasn’t impressed with Kamala yesterday in Texas. She needs to use more of those hundreds of thousands of bucks on TV ad’s.

Here’s a pic I stopped to take just for you folks. Check out these scary squashes!

Karen: Are you okay girl? :emoticon 0111 blush:

our friends took us to a restaurant in Ocford Ohio, home of the Miami (ohio) foot balll team and a large state park. We rode thru the hills. The leaves havent; changed, we would have loved to see some of the Canadian Maple trees.
Lee, I can't remember what color t hat old pontiac was, I do remember it had a smooth ride.
Dave, Isn't the computer modem one of the first t hings that is checked? Isn't it nice when you get some one that knows what they are doing?
Love the picture of the hill K2

Where's a good thunderstorm when you want one? :)

Today between 3 & 5 PM is trick-or-treating in Massillon. Nothing but sunshine and blues skies is forecast. I don't care what anybody says, I like trick-or-treating before it gets dark. You get a better look at the little ghosts, witches and goblins, it's safer for the kids, and it cuts down on the teenagers pulling pranks in the dark.

Got a feeling that you'll never again go to the Cooper's Hawk Winery for another dinner and show, Lee.

Fess up K2; What treat or toy did you take Manny this time? Thanks for stopping the car and taking that pretty picture of fall and sharing it with us.

Mike; You could always count on Pontiacs, Caddys, and Oldsmobiles to "glide" down the highway. Yes, a technician actually looking at your computer is a heck of a lot better than having someone on the phone diagnose whatever the problem is. Plus the tech can just go to his van and get any computer part that may need replaced.

KC; When you're at church today, remember to NOT volunteer for anything. :)

Good morning! I think I might, maybe FINALLY be caught up with my self from my trip last week! I don't know why it was so hard to bounce back this year.

Dave, good to hear the tech issues were solved at no expense to you, it sure makes a difference when the person doing the work actually knows what they are doing!

Kathie, love the pretty fall pic's! The leaves were just starting to turn in Maryland. So what was new or different about your field vision test? Wondering if it would be worthwhile to mention it to my eye dr. if it's really different?

Lee, bummer about the show being less than entertaining, at least the dinner & company was good! How much more work do the OGC's have left at Jim & Gail's?

Mike, believe it or not I have actually said No to a few groups at church, but I think you are right I do need to practice it more.

Went to Jane's on Tuesday to try & change her mower blade, couldn't get the old one off so will probably see if my nephew will do it for us. Or I may ask the neighbor if he has a socket wrench I may be able to get the nut off with that.

Sorting thru things to donate to the church rummage sale next month, so far I have 2 good sized boxes full, I'm sure there is more here it's just finally letting go of stuff that's hard.

Today is clergy appreciation Sunday at church, not exactly sure what they have planned for Rev. Lisa, just that it will be after the 10:30 service. We actually had a nearly full choir for practice Thurs. night, Leila & another lady who has been out sick made it back so that was nice for a change!

Time to get myself moving, have a super Sunday all!

A very good Sunday to you all!
Thanks to Kathie and Karen for putting in a good word at church today for us “sinners”.
Oh, no, Mr. Manny isn’t too spoiled by you Kathie. I recall, fondly, how you and our Katie took to each other in Florida that year. Those are gnarly looking squash’s.
Reverend Lisa sounds like one in a million. I do hope that the congregation has something extra special planned for her Karen. Ah, the basement project.
SKIP OVER THIS PART IF YOU’D LIKE…
Well, it’s kinda like The Winchester House. It may never get done! As you may have recalled we got the framing completed, or so we thought, last fall. Then we all headed south. We don’t do basements in the summer! Then Jim and Gail had to wait for the plumber and electrician to become available. Then Gail decided she wanted a larger storage area so we moved the wall. All of the walls and ceilings are getting sound proofing insulation. So…we have the insulation done in the ”rec” room and the bedroom. The drywall is up on the ceiling of the rec room. We’ll spend a couple more days this week and hopefully get the bedroom drywalled. We all made it clear at the start that we’ll do about two or three half days per week. So it will get done when it gets done. THE END
Our basement took less than month from start to finish. It was simple, straight forward, and the room was empty. We didn’t have to move furniture or work around stuff. And the plan never changed…

The show was just not what we hoped for. I think just about anyone could toss out the leading questions and find someone who was sure they were the person the medium was talking to. Overall the food wasn't bad Dave. We’d go back to Cooper's Hawk for another show. Just not that type of show. We have been with friends just for lunch a couple of times and always enjoyed it.
The Canadian Maples really do show of their colour Mike. That big one in The Navy Yard is really starting to drop it’s leaves.
Lu-Ann and the ladies are off to a tea in Windsor this afternoon. I’m off to the treadmill.
Wherever all of you are off to, I hope you have a fantastic day!

SUNNY, but chilly if you stand in the shade today! 56F right now! DUH~~

Choir sounded fantastic today. We had 9 Altos! I could have stayed home. Ha Ha

Lee: Why are Jim and Gail putting bedrooms in the lower level? Are they planning on renting it out! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:  It's just 2 people living in the house for heaven's sake. And the SOUND-PROOFING.... is it really necessary? Will there be beatings going on down there?:oops:

Hope you are all having a good day.

Kathie, you’ve asked the same questions the rest of The OGC’s have asked. A full bedroom and bathroom (that we get) in the basement of an already three bedroom two bathroom home? The answer seems to revolve around the one week a year their grandkids may come to visit…
55F and sunny here! A beautiful fall day.

glad your choir had a good day Kathi.
Lee, we have had 2 or 3 days that have been very nice, monday, tuesday and wednesday are supposed to be nice. we have been to Winchester House years ago. Beautiful but strange.
Welcome back Karen, glad you are caught up, at least for now.
Dave, for the most part just about every tech we had except for puter tech they were all very good. I don't do the telephone any more so I have to go for the tech and I am glad of it.
Have a good day tomorrow.
