Lee: Jim & Gail would have been better to put all the money spent on the basement in a trust fund for the little gremlins that visit MIGHT come to visit once a year! Crazy if you ask me. And what's crazier is that the OGC gang is doing the work for free! Ha Ha.

Karen: In answer to your question about my latest Eye Field Test. The Dr said he wanted to have this particular test to see if it had anything to do with the slight shadow I see from my left eye. Well, it did not according to him. He did say that now he has a good BASE READING, and in a year will do this particular field test again and see if there are any changes.
He had no real answer for my noticing a slight shadow on the side of my left eye vision when looking forward. I've gotten use to it. When I wear my sunglasses when driving I don't notice it. Go figure!

Looking forward to the nice temps this week. Might be the last of them for a while. :(

I did see a LOT of folks at EARLY VOTING areas today on the way home from church. I wanted to roll the window down and shout out..... VOTE BLUE! Ha ha.

Trick or Treat was for 2 hours yesterday afternoon. We had 72 bags of chips to hand out. In just one hour and 10 minutes, we were out. So off went the porch light and we closed the door.

It was just nuts how many kids were showing up on our street. One group of parents rode in one of those John Deere carts that look like a golf cart and pulled a trailer behind it, that was big enough to hold a car, that was filled with kids.

Nice costumes and polite kids.

So happy to read that you've finally caught up with yourself after your trip, KC. As we get older it seems to take more energy to do just about everything. So what did they do for Rev. Lisa? You surprised me, after all the fix-it projects that you do, that you said that you didn't have a socket set.

K2; You want to see Manny make a chew toy disappear like magic? Get him one of those Lamb Chop toys.

Lee; It's beginning to sound like Jim & Gail really don't care if that basement ever gets done.

Your weather seems to mirror ours lately, Mike. Sure would be nice if we could bottle it and open a few of those bottles in March.

Having trouble getting my butt in gear these past few days. Nope, don’t know why.
Sometimes it seems to take longer to get back into “home” rhythm after travels Karen. The bottom line is you had a good time and spent time with family. Enquiring minds want to know. How did the congregation show their appreciation for Reverend Lisa?
Kathie, you're preaching to the choir about their basement. It’s not that we mind doing stuff like that. It’s good for us old farts to get together. I guess the lens in your sunglasses makes that shadow blend in. As long as the base line is good and there is no issues, that is great!
A busy hour and a half at your door Dave. I wish we could do that here for all of the reasons you mentioned. Add to that Thursday’s forecast is for rain and I do feel bad for the kids. Trust me, they want the basement done but the plans can’t keep changing. We‘re going to lose time when Gail has her procedure, then we’re in to Christmas and then we’re all headed to Florida.
Enough grumbling from me.
All of you have a good day!

YUP.... another week closer to WINTER! And for some lucky folks closer to getting to Florida. Just hope it's WARMER there this year!

Dave: I wish we had Halloween on the last Sunday of October. Makes so much more sense to do it that way. When we lived at our first home we would have car loads of "ethnic" kids being dropped off to Trick or Treat in the area!

I have a Cardiologist appt at 11:45 a.m. today. I have no idea why but will go and "say hello" and have my blood pressure taken and leave! If my blood pressure is HIGH, I'll just tell her it's because of the upcoming ELECTIONS!

Changed the sheets, etc this morning and Art helped me "turn" the mattress on the spare bedroom bed. Should be fun to see if the two of us can still turn the Queen Size mattress in our room. Going to wait and do that after the Dr's appt!

You all have a good day. If anything exciting happens come back and let us know! :crazy01:

A dandy day down by the water this morning. We’ll take these amazing fall days as long as we can.
I do hope that all goes well at your cardiologist’s is it Kathie.
Next weekend is my day to rotate the mattress and replace the batteries in the smoke detectors and doorbell camera. I try to do those tasks when the clocks change. At the very least. Also time to change the furnace filter and then again in January before we head south.
Be good everyone.

Today for games day Lisa asked us to come in costume.

Lu-Ann pulled out her whimsical witch things. I printed an invitation to games day and donned the top part of my tux. I was dressed as a “formal invitation”. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
See you all in the morning!

LEE / Lu-Ann: You two look FABULOUS!
Lee you should wear a TUX everyday.... you look great! Hope you had fun.
We changed the furnace filter last week.
Cardiologist appt went just like I thought it would. EKG was good, meds I'm on will be continued and SLAM, BAM, THANK YOU MAM! Ha Ha. See you next year!
She told me to DRINK MORE WATER! Yup, I really need to do that as soon as I buy stock in DIAPERS! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Used the new Leaf Blower and got the front and almost all of the lower backyard done before the battery gave out. I really need to invest in another extra battery, but they're VERY EXPENSIVE and there's no need to rush to get the job done that fast.

I found a remnant piece of Quartz that I would like to have put in Art's bathroom to lighten it up a little. With the kitchen being very white and his bathroom very close in the area I'd love to put a new vanity TOP and SINK in the area. I'll have to see what the young lady comes up with as far as a quote for the slab.
I want to go to one more Granite/Quartz place to check out their odd remnant pieces.
As much as you would think they'd give you a good deal on those pieces that are left over from a job and basically already paid for.....THEY DON'T. :emoticon 0101 sadsmile:
Always something!
Off to watch the WORLD SERIES. I'm cheering for the LA Dodgers.

Dave, when our candy runs our our lights go off also. That is about all of the local kids have time for, then the busloads come in.
Iee, you two look fanatastic, I hope you dont mind me saying this but you should make an 8x5 of the picture or even larger.

Well looky there, what a handsome couple. A pretty young girl & the creepy old man. :) (Nice outfits.) Refresh my memory, when is it that you are heading to Florida, Lee?

K2; I'm sure glad we mailed in our votes already. According to the news, voting is way up this year. And for those who want to show up at the polls to vote, lots-a-luck. Some places in Ohio people have had to stand in line for two hours. So it was a quick in & out at the cardiologist, I was wondering how it went.

Mike; I hate it when parents from all over town bus in their kids to get candy. They are only in our neighborhood once every year.

Morning KC!

Oh goody, another time change. And every time we do have one the politicians will start blabbing about how they are going to stop those twice a year changes. But.......they never do.

Looks like it's a trip to the grocery store this morning for us.

Will it rain? Will it not? Even the weather guessers have conflicting predictions.
Thank you for the nice comments about our Halloween outfits. It was kinda fun to get dressed up a tad for Halloween. Six of the nine of us did.
Great news from the cardiologist Kathie! The doctors all say we should drink more water. I know I can’t hold my water like I used to. Sometimes batteries do go on sale as part of a bundle of some sort. Quartz and granite. One more thing HGTV has convinced everyone they need.
Add us to the list of once the candy is gone (less my handling fee!) the lights go out Mike. When we lived in Ayr, which was more rural, the country kids would always get a drive into the residential areas to trick or treat.
So what’s on the grocery list today Dave? Ontario often brings up the whole daylight savings time thing. But our elected officials always come up with some lame excuse as to why we can’t scrap the time change. Like “we can’t do it if our bordering provinces and US states don't”. Why? Saskatchewan and The Yukon don’t mess with their clocks.
Karen, don’t make us come looking for you!!
Hair cut for me and a trim for Lu-Ann today. I suspect a trip to either Caffeine & Co or Bucketlist Roastery and Cafe will be in order too.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning! Another cool start to the day here & I am loving it!
Lee, awesome pic of you & LuAnn! You two just never seem to age at all. I never could understand the fascination with a high maintenance counter top, I have enough trouble just keeping the crumbs wiped off!
Kathie, glad the cardiologist visit went well, so far that's one Dr. I don't have a yearly visit with! Be careful with that remodeling "snowball" it just never seems to know when to stop!
Dave, I too like seeing the kids trick or treat during the day. Unfortunately they are not allowed to in here. I'm sure it's an insurance or liability issue, there was talk a few times about us dressing up & going door to door in here, but so far it's never happened.
Morning Mike!

The appreciation Sunday for Rev. Lisa was nice, many of the different ministries gave her cards & gift cards. Choir gave her a card with cash which she really liked. I was kind of disappointed that they didn't do a lunch for her since it was after 12 when we got to the parish hall, it was just a cake & punch kind of thing. Seemed a little skimpy to me, but I wasn't the one planning it.

Worked outside yesterday cleaning off the back patio, was nice to be able to work outside without sweating to death or having a head stroke. Going over to Jane's today to work on getting her garage organized. Then I have to go to Walmart & buy a new microwave, mine bit the dust last night! I was heating up my dinner when I heard a kind of a "pop" noise and then started smelling smoke! I didn't see any smoke & the microwave was still going but it rattled me. I turned it off & opened the door & could REALLY smell smoke so that was it, not taking chances on it catching fire! It had been acting up a little before but nothing like this & it wasn't even that old, maybe 3-4 yrs.u
Need to get myself moving, I'm going to stop at one of the ladies who live her on my way out. She's a snowbird & I maintain her patio area while she's gone & keep her electric bike battery charged. After this year I am going to tell her I can't do the patio anymore, it's just been to much trying to keep up with the weeds this year, see I CAN say NO to projects! Charging the battery is no problem, she brings in down to me when she leaves for the summer & once a month I plug it in for 10 mins or so. Some months it doesn't need charged at all because it's not being used.
Have a great day all!

Hi GANG!

Got a early call from the Orthopedic office. Wanted to know if I could come in EARIER.
YUP.... works for me. It's only 10 minutes from our house.
I wanted to go to a church funeral service, so it worked out perfectly.
Report was good on the LEG NERVE TEST.
He told me to use CBD cream/oil/Sauve on the part of the knee that is bugging me. The one that hasn't had surgery. I've been doing that on and off. He said just do it 3 times a day and see how it feels.

Funeral service was very nice. A small choir sang and they had HUGE SCREENS with the words on it. Huge church. (Catholic) I was glad I could go and pay my respects to the family.

It's 77 degrees here right now! Just beautiful. Leaves falling down all over the place.

Hi Kc, good for you, It's about time you eased up some, Now you can come here and keep the leave off of our patio.
Fay keeps telling me to drink more water Lee, but I go to the bathroom enough during the day so I don't. I think but not sure, the time changes next month. I would be happy if it stay like it is.
Did you buy lots of chocolate Dave, if not why bother going?????

I do love popping on and seeing so much chat. It makes me smile. Thank you all for that.
According to Phlash Phelps on Sirius 60’s Gold today is National Cat Day. So, of course I thought of you Karen. So, Happy Cat Day!
It sounds like all in all Reverend Lisa came away knowing she was appreciated. Tough thing to have happen to your microwave. There’s one appliance that has come down in price over the years.
Another good report from a specialist Kathie! It’s a lovely day here too!
The clocks “fall” back this coming Sunday Mike. There’s a book on the market called ”Drink Lots of Water”. The author is I.P. Standing. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

At this time next week, will we know who won the various elections??? I've got a gut feeling that some places will screw up the final count of votes, causing delays.

It's amazing Lee how politicians always find some way to keep us dealing with the time changes. Leaving for Florida on January the second. You'll have to explain to me why you go so early, when it's likely to still be chilly.

Bummer that your microwave crapped out, KC. At least they are a LOT cheaper than they were years ago. Your current one sure didn't last for very long. An electric bike sounds interesting to me.

Happy to hear that your nerve test came out good K2. The electrical signal is getting to where it should go. We're loving the warm temperatures too. At sunset last night it was still in the upper 70's.

I too love chocolate, Mike. AND dark chocolate too. Which Kathi wants no part of.

Nothing on our agenda today, which is nice. So it's time to "mill around smartly".

Good morning. 62F at 6:00 this October 30th morning. I’ll take it.
There was also “Rusty Bed Springs” by I.P. Nightly Mike. Hmmm. Do beds even have metal springs any more?

We usually go a week later Dave. That has us leaving FL after an eight week stay when many of the spring breaks start. Things start to get crazy busy then and some prices go up. Including hotel rates on the way home. We used to go down mid January but really didn’t like being there AND coming home with spring break and increased I75 traffic at the end. This year the property manager in FL rented out two weeks in the middle of the time we are usually there without checking with Sunshine first. We deal directly with Sunshine and had been chatting about our weeks but in fairness we hadn’t firmed up. And that was a year in advance! Anyway, we have five weeks in our regular spot and three around the corner at her friend’s place. She chatted with her friend and he is giving us the same rate with pool heat as she charges. We know we are getting both homes for a lot less than the market value. We don’t pay extra for the pool heat AND we pay Sunshine directly in Canadian dollars. It’s not unusual for pool heat to cost $25USD or more per day on top of the rental. That’s an extra $1400USD that we save!
Aren’t you glad sorry you asked?
Mmmm. Chocolate.
Off shortly to see what fun and changes await us this morning at Jim and Gail’s “Excellent Basement Adventure“.
See you all later!

Happy Good Morning GIF by DINOSALLY
Just in case you forgot which day it of the week it is! Ha ha.

63F right now at 8:00 a.m. We slept with the all the windows open in the back of the house last night. Luckly there were NO SKUNKS walking around.

Lee: That's a nice savings for you guys to pay in Canadian funds and get the pool heat free. Now you just have to hope you can get into the pool in January! I sure hope it's a WARMER vacation than last year was. I'd really love to go SOMEWHERE - ANYWHERE for the month of Feb or March. It wouldn't be Longboat Key. They still have a lot of recovery to do from Helene and Milton's damages. Puerto Vallarta would be nice!

This morning Art and I go to the dentist and to get X-Rays and Teeth Cleaned! HATE IT, but it's something that's on the regular schedule to do. 11:00 a.m. appt. At least we don't have to get caught up in Rush Hour traffic. We get to drive by the area on the way home that I had my TIRE BLOW OUT!

Karen: So young lady, were you able to find a new Microwave? Amazing how many different kinds and sizes they have out there.

I used that handy dandy Leaf blower on the side of the house and on the lower part of the backyard yesterday. I must say it was WORTH the INVESTMENT to get rid of the "cord". I looked out of the bathroom window earlier and you would never know I cleaned up all the leaves from the two trees on the side of the house. I think I'll just wait until they all fall down before wasting my time doing it again.

Okay, I'm off to get an English Muffin and a cup of JAVA before we have to leave for the dental appt. We sure are supporting the Medical Field this week! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Be good little Wrabbits and hope you all have a FANTASTIC DAY! Suppose to break records here in
