Happy Thanksgiving Eve all!

Dave, hoping all is well with you & Kathi and you are just having computer issues today.

Kathie, I think another strong shot of Bourbon is called for tonight along with a hot shower & a Vicks blanket! That was sweet of Art to peel all those potatoes for you, we're having instant again this year. I've found the Idahoan Homestyle instant potatoes are as good if not better than my homemade ones.

Lee, sounds like the Postal workers union has a major case of the greedies going on. With technology growing the way it is actual mail delivery is a dying profession . I still get some paper statements but even then I've usually looked online & scheduled my payment before the bill ever arrives.

Mike, I'm impressed that you still have roses blooming so profusely, usually by now they are long gone in your part of the country.

Church this morning & then out to brunch with my friends Pat & Pamela, then came home & got all my side dishes prepped. It will just be my 2 sisters & I, Wendy decided to go to her daughters again this year. Can't say that I blame her, she only lives a couple miles away so it's closer for her.
I'm going to try to remember to turn on the Macy's parade tomorrow, I usually forget about it until it's all over. Have a great evening all!

Good morning my friends.
Quick stop to hope that this Thanksgiving Day finds you all well and looking forward to the day ahead with family, friends and food.
A little trivia before I go. Do you know the Canadian word for today? “Thursday”. :emoticon 0100 smile:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Of the many things I'm thankful for is the friendship over the many years of you rascally wabbits.

I'm so blessed to be thankful for much more than I really deserve.

Just Kathi and I for turkey, gravy, and fixings around noontime. Plus more gravy, of course. Gone are the days of large family gatherings. The kids have WAY over-reproduced, and to be honest I enjoy the calmness of the holiday better with just the 2 of us.

Ya'll be careful K2 with that coughing. I broke a rib once coughing up a storm with bronchitis. I never knew that was possible. Extra-strength Tylenol is my go-to pain and symptom solver also.

Lee; I think that postal union is digging it's own grave by getting so greedy in the face of business losses. And how many people who pay their bills by mail will now be late in their payments. I remember Tom & Jerry, but I don't remember which is which.

Every time I think of what the Buffoon might do in the next four years, I cringe Mike. And by his past behavior and temperament I have no doubt he's going to try some stunt to stay in even longer.

No computer issues yesterday for me KC, I did post early, as usual. Hope you get to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I always set the boob-tube to record it in case I sleep in. You will have enough GRAVY won't you? :) There's no such thing as too much gravy.

Thanksgiving Thank You GIF by Chippy the Dog
Thankful for my Extended Hutch Family. You all mean the world to me. I chit chat with you folks more than my own family at times! Love you all so much.
Enjoy your day and EAT reasonably. Hate to see you all with tummy aches tomorrow! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Lee & Lu-Ann: I hope you get your Turkey Sandwiches! :)

Art is on his Turkey Day Bike Ride to Starbucks with his bike buddies. They go to Starbucks, because it's the only coffee place open in Lake Orion today! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: Jill & Mark usually meet up with them there too. I'm playing it safe and staying home. 36 degrees outside right now. Brr

My head cold is better. No coughing since yesterday. If I do cough to clear my throat my ribs are sore. I didn't break any ribs, but they're letting me know I was rough on them.
Nice not to be using all that Kleenex.

Have a YUMMY DAY ALL. We'll be off to my brother & sisters-in-law for 4:30pm dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving all! Like most turkeys were today I'm STUFFED! I only took a small spoon full of all the sides but for only 3 people we had waaaaay to much food as usual!

Dave, oooppps, I guess I took lessons from Kathie in speed reading, I totally missed your post yesterday. And YES we had plenty of gravy!

Kathie, glad to hear you are feeling better. Enjoy your dinner with the family. You had mentioned a recipe for turkey pockets, I wouldn't mind seeing how they are made when you get a chance.

Lee, cute joke, kind of like one I've heard before, what do they call the 4th of July in France? The 4th of July.

Mike, we are all so glad you found your way back into the hutch. It would be awesome if you & Fay were able to meet up with Lee & LuAnn for coffee on their journey south.

Dishwasher is running & I think there is one last glass of wine in the bottle time to relax and enjoy the rest of my evening.

IT'S SNOWING right now at 1:00 A.M. And I'm not talking a few flakes, it's coming down pretty heavy! BIG HUGE CLUMPS of SNOW. Karen, any chance you could get the Kitties to move in with one of your sisters for a few months? I could cook and clean and promise to stay out of your way!:oops::rolleyes:! Yup, I didn't think so.
I'm just getting too OLD for the WHITE STUFF!

On a good note: I survived 2024 THANKSGIVING DINNER! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
I didn't eat as much as I usually do, and it felt so good not too.

Karen: I'll make sure to get you the Turkey Pocket video or website on Friday sometime.
I have to get a Blood test and then later do the Mammogram for this year. DUH!!

Okay, I was just passing through and wanted to pass on the SNOW ALERT.

Slip Sliding Away now!

We all made it through Thanksgiving and didn't, (I hope), kill any relatives. Although it can be quite tempting at times. :)

Now we're off and running to Christmas where every company and commercial is going to try and entice us into buying something from them. Yea, put money in our wallets into their wallets. I could have sworn there was some religious reason for this holiday.

Hope you got that turkey sandwich, Lee. We have lots of turkey left over for sandwiches and for the frozen TV dinners that Kathi will make.

Glad to hear that your head cold is better, K2. And that you haven't fractured any ribs from all the serious coughing you've had to deal with.

Loved your Peanuts cartoon, Mike. And the picture insert of you and Fay.

Good for you KC on taking small portions of sides during your Thanksgiving feast. It is SO tempting to just overload, in spite of knowing better. I too got stuffed, but not to the point of feeling really bad.

Only thing on my agenda today is getting a routine yearly CT exam, then going home. Not going anywhere near any big stores because it's "Black Friday".

It’s good to hear that, so far, every one of you had a nice Thanksgiving.
Like you good folks, gone are the days when Lu-Ann and I would be up and out early to see what bargains on things we didn’t need were to be had. Of course back in the day we had to physically get up, get dressed and go out to the stores. None of this sitting at home on the computer shopping for Black Friday deals.
We seem to have had a little snow overnight. It’s been a while since temps were at 28F to start the day and the day started with snow on the ground.
I’m a tad weary this morning so I may just put my feet up and see if I can niddy nod before our day starts up.
All of you have a good day please. If you’re out, watch out for the other guy. Above all else, have a fantastic day.

Good evening! Long tiring day today, I got up early & got my floors all mopped & the sheets on my bed changed. Then shortly after 9 my sister Jane called & I ended up taking her to the ER. She had called me Wednesday evening to tell me she'd been having trouble with her left eye, seeing flashes & streaks of light in it. Of course by then it was to late to find a Dr. so I gave her a couple numbers yesterday to call today. None were open, but a lady she talked to at one office told her she really needed to go & get it checked out. So she finally agreed to let me take her. Thankfully they did not find anything physically wrong but did tell her to follow up with an opthamologist. Something "I" have been telling her for years because she is diabetic & has high blood pressure. I'm just grateful there was nothing seriously wrong & if nothing else it's finally convinced her to take better care of her eyes. We spent about 2-1/2 hours in the ER which all things considered wasn't that bad.
Was hoping my microwave would show up today as scheduled, but tracking doesn't say "out for delivery" so I'm not holding my breath waiting.
Pretty sure I hear a turkey sandwich & some mac N cheese calling my name.

Karen good to know Jane got checked out at ER. Now to get her to go and get her eyes checked.

I had one of those big pop bottles that I cut a hole in and would put lose change into. I think it was a couple of years worth. Well, I decided to count the change. Ended up Rolling $120 in coins!
I’m marking the bottle “2025” and want to see how much I can save up in just one year.

Dave: The news keeps reporting lots of snow, wind, rough driving, black ever, etc, etc. HOW’S IT GOING DIEN YOUR WAY?

Stay safe & warm folks.

You're not alone KC, a lot of us Bunnies were reaching for a turkey sandwich or just slices of turkey and other leftover fixings yesterday. And we'll probably do so again today. 2 1/2 hours is a pretty short time in the ER. You were lucky. They must have been slow. Yes, I did have to look up "Ophthalmologist" since there is SO many different names for doctors. Sucks that your new microwave hasn't arrived yet.

Those turkey pockets look like a great idea for leftovers, K2.

Lee; Shopping on line sure has changed our buying habits in the past 20 years. Malls sure aren't as busy as they once were. No more fist-fights over Cabbage Patch Dolls.

We're getting a good taste of winter here. 19 degrees, at the moment. According to the weather guessers, we probably won't get above freezing for the next week. And some areas up by Lake Erie are counting their snowfall not by inches but by feet.

A cloudy 23F start to the day.
I’m so glad that it was nothing more serious with sister Jane Karen. Hopefully she will take this “warning shot” to try harder to take better care of her health in general. I can’t help but wonder what they would all do if you didn’t live nearby. Be glad your microwave isn’t stuck in our postal system.
That’s a pretty good haul of coins Kathie! And you likely didn’t even notice it when you dropped a few in your bottle. How are you feeling today? Much better I hope.
I appreciate the offer to stop in your neck of the woods Mike. I just can’t do the longer drives I used to not only do but enjoy. I try to split the days, including rest stops for Lu-Ann, Ava and I so we’re no more than about 7 - 8 hours on the road. Maybe us northern folk need to set a time and place for an overnight getaway to your neck of the woods this summer.
Our news showed shots of our main mall in Windsor last night Dave. Compared to the shoulder to shoulder scenes that took place back in the day the place was barely what I’d call busy. I do recall, with a smile, “Cabbage Patch Wars”.
We do have our beloved Drury Inn’s booked for our trip down and back. Yesterday they sent an email to use the word “Cyber” when booking to save 30%. Now, my Mom didn’t raise no fool (hold your tongues Bunnies. Especially you Dave! ;)) so I called and spoke with a delightful young lady by the name of Ashley. We checked all four reservations and when it was all said and done Lu-Ann and I saved over $110 USD across our stays. So did I shop on Black Friday? Well now, I suppose in a manner of speaking I did.
Is that coffee I smell? It sure will be in a second or so.
I ask a favour of all of you. That favour is to have the best day you can.

Days Of The Week Weekend GIF by Adventures Once Had
Just in case you Wrabbits have your days mixed up!

Well, it's COLD and 27 degrees. I'm looking at a message on the bottom of this large monitor screen saying
3 inches of snow soon! Joy Joy! NOT.
We got a dusting from earlier this morning that covered the grass. And that poor DAISY outside has snow on it's pedals. I'm sure it's finally giving up! It made it through Nov.

Dave: You folks are getting hit a tad more than we are up here. And it's suppose to be COLD like this all-next week. Have I ever mentioned how much I CAN'T STAND WINTER!

Lee: GOOD JOB on the savings. I saw that our US FUNDS are worth $.40 cents on the dollar.
Good for us, but not good for your Canadian funny money! Glad you were able to score on the savings. And thanks for supporting the USA when you do your vacations. Not sure how that will work out next year.

Karen: So did the Microwave show up yet? I bet you've wanted to heat up things more than usual just because it's not there!
I'm going to try and make those Turkey pocket things once I bake our small Turkey that is just about thawed out in the refrigerator. I need to buy some crusty bread and let it sit out for the stuffing. Or just bake a loaf of that "No Kneed Bread". With the snow outside, I don't think I'm going anywhere today.

Mike/Fay: You two make sure to stay inside and keep nice and cozy. Our long Winter is definitely upon us all. Mike do you still fiddle around with that gizmo you bought that converts music onto CD's from 78's? It's outdated now. You need one that transfers to one of the USB (?) sticks! :)

Okay, I need to order a Med from the online company our insurance uses. That makes me wonder how the folks in Canada are getting their much needed ONLINE MEDICINES these days with the strike that is going on?

Have a good day all. STAY WARM.

Good morning, a chilly start to the day here in Belleview as well! Sun is shining & it's warmed up a bit, I'm not complaining the cooler weather is a nice change for us!

Kathie, good job on rolling all those coins, that was a tidy little sum you saved up there.

Lee, glad you were able to score some savings on your hotel rooms, it's always nice to have a little extra cash when traveling.

Dave, I have to admit I am getting "turkeyed" out about now. I still have a good bit of meat left on the one turkey breast, I want to get that cut off today & then toss both carcasses in a pot and cook them down & make turkey vegetable soup.

Now delivery for the microwave is saying Monday, this is getting old! It made it to Orlando on Wednesday & didn't leave there until this morning. I could have driven down & picked it up myself in less time than that!

Spent the morning putting out Christmas decorations for the kitchen & living room & realized I really AM getting old! I used to be able to get everything done in an hour or so, now I found myself taking a sit down break every 15-20 minutes. I even put a couple more things in the yard sale pile instead of keeping them.
I have a couple more things to put outside & then I'm done decorating. I made a new centerpiece for my table that I think turned out kind of cute, will try to post a pic of it.

Lu-Ann and I give your center piece TWO thumbs up Karen! That is really cute and festive. Just like all of the ladies on this board. :emoticon 0111 blush:
Kathie, most companies that formerly relied on Canada Post have switched to other courier services. At an increased price to the consumer of course. It was a very quick tour around half of The Navy Yard with Ava this morning. The wind was just blowing off the river carrying the odd snow shower with it.

Excellent job on that centerpiece you put together Karen.

I haven't started to decorate this place. Maybe Monday and it will be very little.
I told Art that we need to put the old HUGE X-mas tree on the community GIVE page.
Why are we saving it. I think he just doesn't want to help drag the big box upstairs!

Snow stopped for now.

OHIO vs Univ of Michigan on TV right now.

Watched a good Nebraska vs Iowa game last night. Iowa pulled out a win right at the end.

Later gang.
