Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

After we finished eating yesterday the four of us sat around and talked and kidded each other, had a lot of laughs and fun. We do that every time we get together
We had a very good meal and I was careful not to eat too much, I have a hard enough time staying awake without stuffing my self.
When I was a teen I used to love going downtown and mingle thru the crowd and into the stores, looking at all of the Christmas decorations, some of my neighbors decorate as much as the down town does, Luckily or saddly we don't get very much of the white stuff any more and I think I miss it a little. Jane wouldn't be having migrais would she?

I wrote the above yesterday and yes I forgot to post it. What clued me in was K2's video of the fight after t he game. I turned the TV off before the fight.

Karen, that is a very pretty center piece. I hope you get your microw wave Moday.

Mike do you still fiddle around with that gizmo you bought that converts music onto CD's from 78's? It's outdated now. You need one that transfers to one of the USB (?) sticks! K2, I quit dong that, could pick up any song I wanted on the computer. truthfull, fogot how to do it:)

Lee, I understand, if you can stop some where along the drive in the summer, maybe Dave can get over here. I don't know if K2could make it this far south but it would be very nice to get together. Dave and K2 were here years ago for Marcia's funeral.

Dave, for the 4th or 5th or 6th year in a row I forgot to turn on the Macy Parade. If nothing else, I am consistent,

NOTE, I AM GOING TO POST THIS NOW

Geesh! Nothing better than a brawl at the end of a college football game. And the various law enforcement agencies even sprayed some of the players with pepper-spray. Sounds like good sportsmanship to me. Geesh! Even though favored by 2 touchdowns, the Buckeyes lost. Suck it up buttercup.

One dandy deal you got for 30% off your hotel prices on your travels to Florida this year, Lee. (The votes are still out on whether your mamma raised a fool.) :)

K2; Massillon hasn't got hit by very much snow yet, but the towns and cities by Lake Erie sure have. Sure is cold though.

Hope your new microwave shows up tomorrow, KC. I'd go nuts without one. If just for heating up coffee. That Christmas decoration you made for your table is adorable.

A news story I saw yesterday made me think of you Mike, since you're so near to Cincinnati. They were saying that it's worth a trip there to visit their "American Sign Museum". All sort of signs on display from hand painted ones to neon light signs, to familiar ones like the Holiday Inn sign, to just ones you'd seen along the road. Remember the Burma-Shave signs? Ya ever been there?

Sign Bad Signal GIF

Nope, no idea why that popped into my head.
Win or lose, we used to shake hands with the other team at the end of the game Dave. I’m wondering if there may be some action from the NCAA to prevent that kind of behaviour in the future. I bet I’d find that museum interesting!
A sign that made me giggle yesterday…”Our Black Friday Event Ends In Two Weeks”.
We used to stop at The Drury in Sharonville, OH Mike. That would have been OK for a side trip to visit. Since we moved three hours closer to the border we drive through MI and OH and our first stop is Louisville, KY.
We noticed that, since Covid, more people seem to decorate with larger displays. We cut way back this Christmas because we head south on January 2. I usually like to pack Christmas away on January 1 or 2.
We barely have a dusting of snow but dang, it’s COLD.
Time to start getting Ava’s breakfast ready. We don’t do our early morning walks when it’s cold and windy. Why yes Dave, I am a wimp. But her little internal clock, likely like K2’s Grand Dog Manny, still tells her when it’s breakfast time.
Hi to those who I’ve missed. I’ll be back to check on you all later on.

A quiet day in the hutch.
If you don’t know.
How was the Christmas Concert Kathie?
Who’s signs these are

“Joy To The World”. Would that be the beautiful 1719 Christmas tune or the 1971 tune by Three Dog Night?

How’s Jane doing Karen?

You’ll be glad to know that you did indeed post your note Mike. ;)

I hope you’ve all had a great day.

Who hasn't watched for the next Burma shave ads while driving thru the country. I think the two schools were fined Lee, forgot how much. When our kids were much younger we used to go to a park near Sharonville, that has been many years ago. Louisville, KY. is a long drive for you Lee.
We are like you Dave, south of the storm. I saw where Buffalo was hit pretty hard. I have a niece that lives near there. We have heard of t he sign museum Dave but have never gone there, I have completely fogotten about it. If one of our kids are interested in it we may go this summer.
Hope your micro wave comes in tomarrow Kc
How was your concert K2??

Morning, my dear friends.

And new week begins with all it's joys and hurtles. But as always, we'll muddle through somehow.

And the snow continues in the northeast of the USA. Still not much here but cold. And I'm sure not a big fan of cold.

I can be slow at times Lee. It took me a while to figure out why you posted in such an odd manner. OF COURSE, it's the Burma Shave sign effect. Marvelous.

Any mention of us Bunnies to the "Big Guy" is greatly appreciated, K2.

Mike; One of the signs in that museum really caught my eye reminded me of my junior high years. For a nickle and a dime, at that time, you could get a hamburger, or a milkshake, or an order of fries for that price. And on a McDonald's fully lit sign was the metal and lit up part that said 15 cents. Apparently they hadn't anticipated inflation. I don't know, but I wonder, what the price of their cheapest hamburger is now.

Had enough turkey by now? :)

Good morning. It’s cold here at 22F but we hardly have a trace of snow on the ground.
I watched some of the snow bowl from Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium last night. Who in their right minds thought an 8:20 pm kickoff in Buffalo in December was a good idea?
Our drive to Louisville is about 6 hours without stops Mike. Add in a couple of rest stops to stretch our legs, walk Ava and get lunch and fuel The Subie and it comes in between 7 1/2 and 8 hours on the road. The other two legs, to Atlanta and on into Kissimmee are about 6 1/2 hours not including stops. That is a long enough time in the car for us.
Mornin’ Dave. Glad you picked up on the spacing in my post. :emoticon 0100 smile: Yes, logo’s don’t change too much but prices sure do. Outside reader boards and inside digital menus sure have cut into sign shops printing and in some cases installing revisions!
Kathie, you and I have a heck of a football game coming up in Detroit in a couple of weeks! My Bills come in to your Lions Den.
I looked ahead and saw that The Bills and The Patriots play two of the last three weeks of the season. I can’t recall how many years Bill and I wagered the outrageous sum of $1 on those two games. Another guy I miss.
Good morning Karen. Fingers crossed that your microwave shows up today. And, once set up, exceeds your needs.
Everyone have a super Monday.

Good Morning!
Concert yesterday was short and sweet. I'll try and get a short video of singing in front of the altar later from my iPhone. For some reason things like photos and videos don't transfer to this Laptop computer.
I did put in a good word for all of us.
Lee/Lu-Ann I'll be sure to put in a good word for you folks BEFORE you start your road trip to Florida. Don't want to do it too early in case the BIG GUY forgets! Ha Ha

The Buffalo game was a HOOT to watch. I was amazed at how that one player ran so FAST in the snow to make a touchdown. The fans are nuts to sit in all that snow, but football fans are a tad crazy.
The city is building a new stadium almost right across the street and it's NOT going to be totally enclosed. Are those people crazy. It's supposed to have a canopy around 60% of the new place, but an open top! I guess they like to pay people to shovel 2-3 feet of snow off all the stadium seats.

I made my BEAN SOUP last night and since it was in the mid-20's and cold enough it got put in the garage. Today I get to fill containers to put in the basement freezer to freeze them for later use. After they get frozen, I'll use the FoodSaver machine to vacuum seal them to avoid freezer burn. Love that machine.
We'll be eating some of it for dinner tonight with chunky bread.

The Turkey is thawed and going in the oven as soon as I get off of here.
I will attempt to make some of those Turkey Pockets from the recipe I posted a few days ago.

We didn't get much snow here. Just WIND and COLD. The sun is shining right now and there is NO SNOW to be seen anywhere! That's a good thing.

I have a PHONE CHECK-UP with my Primary Dr this afternoon. Wants to check and see if the meds she gave me are working! Sure hope I don't screw up the Face-Time phone call!! I like the fact that it saves me driving all the way to the office. Smart Dr to do this.

You all have a good day.

Lee: Time to start gathering "shorts" and lightweight shirts for your trip. Although, I'd still be backing LONG SLACKS and a warm jacket. Hopefully this year you will have WARMER weather.

Later.............

Starting to smell like TURKEY in the kitchen! Not a bad smell at all.
Made some fresh cranberry sauce.
Bread for stuffing is drying.
Used the giblets to make a broth for the stuffing!

Got to do the FACETIME appt with my Primary Dr. IT WORKED. Amazing. Sure saves
a lot of driving and gas. All is good.
I have 2 more appts for check-ups this week "in Office" and then I'm DONE for 2024!

Later gang.

We lucked out also, not a drop of snow but cold for this time of the year. I am so glad we do not have a coal furncace and have to bank the fire at night. Any body else have to do that???
Out roses are pretty much gone now. They lasted a long time, looking forward to seeing them again this spring.
That is a long drive Lee. I hope Fl. is nice and warm this winter. How does Ava handle the long drives.
I remember buying hamburgers at fifteen cents Dave. One time some one in our family found a five dollar bill and we got a cheeseburger and fries for all of us.
Hope you have your new Microwave by now Karen.
We tried facetime once K2, couldn't understand a word the Dr. said.
Stay warm.

Good evening! Did you all know Santa doesn't drive a sleigh anymore, he travels in a FedEx truck? It must have been Santa cause my microwave FINALLY showed up around 4 this afternoon. So far so good, I heated up a nice plate of leftovers for supper & it seemed to do pretty good. I need to figure out all the buttons again but I'm sure I will in time. It's quiet too,

Kathy, glad the face time Dr. visit went well, I haven't been brave enough to try one of those, but then my Dr's office is 2 blocks away. Enjoy the turkey, I made a big pot of turkey vegetable soup yesterday & it was yummy! Froze 4 containers for later.

Dave, I can well remember the 15 cent hamburgers at McDonalds, times sure have changed. On Friday my sister took to me lunch at Mickey D's,(my choice) and 2 hamburgers, 2 cheeseburgers, 2 small fries & 2 small drinks was over $18

Lee, you will be headed south to (warmer?) temps before you know it. When I got home from church yesterday there was a message from the weather alert system for a freeze warning. I don't think it got quite as cold as they expected but there was a coating of frost on the rooftops here.

Mike, your Roses hung in for a good long time for you. If it will make you feel better I can post some pic's of mine when they get blooming again.

Went out early this morning to Walmart to return a Christmas present I bought for Jane, it had gone down in price quite a bit & since they don't price match online I just re-ordered it & took the other one back for a refund. Bought a few groceries while I was there. Once I got home I decided to put up my Christmas tree, that took a couple hours & my back it not liking me very much right now. Also got all the stocking stuffer presents wrapped for Jane & Barb. Once the rest of the items I ordered come in I will wrap everything else & be ready to relax for the rest of the season. HA! Who am I kidding, I will be running back & forth to church for one meeting, practice or who knows what else, but a girl can dream!
Have a great evening all!

Still cold and only a dusting of snow here. But one county in Ohio up along Lake Erie has gotten 5 feet of the white stuff, so far. And it's the wet kind which is great for making snowballs and snowmen. But too much weight for some building's roofs up there. Sucks to live there.

My Philips Sonicare toothbrush crapped out yesterday, so I got on Amazon to order a new one just like the one I had. I never even gave it a thought that it was "Cyber Monday". Boy did I luck out because they had it on sale for about 1/2 the price I paid last time.

So KC, did you kiss "Santa" when he brought you your new microwave? Have fun figuring out all the buttons. Glad to hear that this one is quiet.

No doubt about it Lee, YOU ARE getting antsy to head south.

K2; What's the reason for cooking up a turkey this week? I keep telling myself that there's got to be a reason since Thanksgiving was just last week. Happy that your phone-check up with your doctor went well. Sure saves a lot of messing around and having to be there.

You've grown some pretty tough roses, Mike. Making it all the way into December. We're all spoiled by our furnaces now-days. Just set the thermostat, and go to bed.

Heading to the grocery store this morning. It'll be in the lower 20's but we won't have to contend with any snow.

I’m just popping by to say “Good Morning”. I didn’t have a good sleep at all last night. I think it’s compounded by knowing I’m awake and trying not to toss and turn so I don’t disturb Lu-Ann. If I get up and go the other room she seems to sense it, worries and comes looking for me. I finally just plain got up at 5:03. Ava toddled out with me and went outside. That blast of 22F cold sure woke me up. I‘m going to sit back in the recliner and see if I can’t doze off for a tad.

Peanut Butter Microwave GIF by BuzzFeed
YIPPEE, the Microwave finally made it. And it's QUIET. Amazing how many times we open and warm something up in those things! Glad it's here for you Karen.

Facetime visit was just to review a new pill she gave me. So it was worth doing it over the phone. There should be more visits like that for SIMPLE things. Saved me TIME and GAS.

Mike: The Geranium is still on the front porch. No new flowers opening, but it's holding it's own. After last nights 20 some degrees I'm sure it will be history soon. The 2 Daisy flowers are bent over and I'm sure FROZEN. Need to get the Styrofoam cones on a few of the tender plants.

Lee: Sorry you didn't sleep well. Your mind must be working in overtime thinking about the long drive to Florida. Take 1/2 a Melatonin get a good nights sleep. Give the other half to AVA and you'll both get some extra sleep! :)

DAVE: The best part of some of those Hamburger places of the past was the GRILLED ONIONS they put on top. I can remember getting 5 for $1.00, cheeseburgers were more. The place was called TRAVIS HAMBURGERS. We still have one and I actually went to it this Summer. I think the cheeseburger was $1.70 now each. They are a tad larger than White Castles and more meat for sure.

It's 24F here and Sunny. And crazy ART went out biking with his buddies. He's NUTS. They do have the right gear and are basically warm, but COLD is COLD if you ask me.

Art went to the Dermo yesterday for a re-check and they found one more SPOT that they dug out to send out for checking.
Always Something. I'm glad they found it, because I told Art he had a spot on the top of his head AGAIN! I wonder if a hit of Radiation would stop those from showing up. Art said he would ask the Dr on his next visit.

My KITCHEN FLOOR is in need of washing today. Joy, Joy.

Right now I'm on my way to the Endourologist to review my Blood work I had done. Too bad this wasn't a Facetime visit.

Later all. Have a WARM DAY.

Karen, I hope your plants made it through the COLD SPELL you had last night.

Good morning, another cool start to the day but it's already warmed up nicely, I think our high today is going to be in the upper 60's, No pool time for sure!

Kathie, Art is a braver soul than I would be to bike in the frigid temps you are having. Even with the right gear it's got to be nippy pedaling along with the wind in your face.

Dave, no kisses for Santa, he was gone before I had a chance to get outside to say thanks.

Lee, hoping you got to doze for a bit in the recliner, nothing starts the day off on the wrong foot than a bad nights sleep.

Got a few chores done around here this morning and now I'm just kind of wandering around aimlessly. I may fix another cup of coffee & go sit in the sunshine on the porch. Later all!

I hope you got to enjoy the sunshine and a cup of coffee Kc. I would like to see pictures of your roses, every thing is drabby here and some color would be nice. I'm guessing by now you have your microwave figured out and know what all of the buttons are for.
K2, I remember riding a bike when I was a preteen in the winter and trying to keep out of the snow. Did you get your kitchen floor cleaned? You have some tough Geraniums.
Lee, I hope you sleep better tonight. It doesn't bother me when I can't sleep, I just lay there and relax. Did you get to sleep on your recliner. Fay has problems sleeping, put her in her recliner and give her a paper or magazine and she drops right off.
Nice that you got a pleasant surprise on your toothbrush Dave. I think we got the same snow that you did, just a little on top of the cars. I'm surprised you didn't get more snow as you aren't, I think that far from Cleveland.
Stay warm.

Once again, thanks to the holidays, I had to look at my watch to see what day of the week it is.

Morning "Spanky", hope you slept better last night. You're so right that at this time of year every business and organization wants us to donate money to them. Yesterday I saw the first Salvation Army with their kettle at the local grocery store. Now that's one organization I freely give money to.

Speaking of the grocery store; We did get one item that wasn't on our list. We're all familiar with King's Hawaiian breads and rolls, but yesterday we saw one item of their's we'd never seen before, Soft Pretzel Bites. BIG bites, but so soft and chewy like their dinner rolls. At first I thought they were just OK. But after 3 or 4 more I decided that they are great. With large grains of salt on them.

The sun sure hasn't been kind to Art, K2. But when younger we never thought much about hats or sunscreen.

After many uses by now, does your new microwave still pass muster, K2? We never know if any gadget is good until we put it through its' paces repeatedly.

Mike; Later tonight is when we're due for a bit of snowfall. It's heading farther south. I wonder if you are getting effected too.

A much better sleep last night. I hope you all had a good one as well.
Three weeks until Christmas. As the postal strike continues the USPS has stopped accepting mail destined for Canada. I feel very sorry for those small northern communities where couriers don’t deliver. People up there are without some medications and the food they need. Small mail order businesses everywhere are starting to suffer because they’re having to charge higher shipping fees to deliver with couriers so now their Christmas business is dropping off. You can’t get a rental van anywhere because couriers have booked them for the extra volumes they are seeing. The worst part…little folks are unable to get letters to and from Santa.
Even as “grumpy” as I was yesterday, all of your posts made me smile.
Dave nailed it when he was mentioning Art’s noggin. Back in the day I don’t think most of us were overly aware of sun safety. Nothing beats the feel of a new toothbrush!
We’ve hit that drab, colourless time of year in the gardens for sure Mike. The grass is dormant, the flowers are gone for the winter. We only have our pets and the smiles of family, friends and neighbours to brighten the winter days.
Does the new microwave play a tune at the end of the cycle Karen? I liked the old ”beep” as opposed to the symphony ours plays now. With the technology out there I think you should have a setting to choose a voice that announces “I’m done”.
I’m hoping that you got a good report on your blood work Kathie! Even a couple of my cardio and oncology appointments have been by phone. I’d prefer FaceTime because then the doc can see me and I know they’re paying attention to me and not doing paperwork. Or playing a video games.
I’m not sure what we’re up to today. I hope all of you have a fantastic day!
