Happy You Can Do It GIF by Hello All
WHERE DID MONDAY & TUESDAY go?? This week is zooming by fast.

Blood work was good. Appt in my estimation could have been done over the phone. The only thing the Dr did was to feel my Thyroid glands on my neck and that was so quick I wonder if she actually felt anything. Anyways, I don't have to go back until next DEC, 2025! Whew.

Last appt with my Oncologist on Friday morning. Another waste of my time and gas to have her tell me I'm doing just fine! Oh well, somebody has to support these doctors! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Lee: Bummer on the mail strike for the little ones trying to send letters to Santa. Somebody should collect them and mail them from across the River! Except then they would have to find a way to buy American Stamps.... that cost a fortune these days.

Speaking of Stamps. I'm not sending out any Christmas Greeting cards. I talk to you folks and others every day on here and that will have to do! Bah Humbug!:blush:

This Friday is our LAST pick-up for YARD WASTE. And of course, that WILLOW TREE is finally dropping all it's ugly skinny leaves all over our yard. The WIND TODAY is strong and blowing our way. Bummer. We'll be waiting until next week when the temps are supposed to be in the 40's and clean them up then. They'll hopefully be almost down by then.

I ordered a new King Size Duvet cover for our comforter. The one on there is a tad tight and makes for lumps in the comforter. I got one from Kohls with 40% off and then $10 off in reward money I had, so it wasn't a bad price. Hope it works out once it gets here.

I need to do some vacuuming and then see about bringing up the "Pencil Size" Christmas tree. If I wasn't having the family over for Christmas Eve, I swear I'd just NOT decorate. Can you tell I'm getting older and grumpier! Ha Ha.
I ordered food to get picked up on Christmas Eve from a restaurant owned and run by our Church member. She makes the best food ever. Lord only knows what we will all do when she retires. I'll make stuffed shells and a cheesecake for dessert. I've grown wiser in my old age and it's not worth me running around buying and cooking when I'll spend as much just ordering.

Supposed to get SNOW FLURRIES later tonight and into Thursday. Joy Joy.

That's it folks. Dave enjoy your new little treats.

Dave, we have our favorite charities and Fay donates to them once a year. We still get groups asking for donations about ever 6 weeks or so.
We are supposed to get flurries tonight with no accumulaton and not as cold but strong winds with gusts above 45mph. We were warned that light items may be blown away. I would never know what day it is without my watch.
It took me a while to put two and two together with Lee's picture and your Spanky comment.
I'm glad you had a much better sleep last night Lee, or is it Grumpy???

Nah I can.t see you as Grumpy, Sleepy maybe. 1733338630203.png

Are the two sides working together to get the strike over with??/

My hearing aid plays the first 4 notes of Beethoven's Fifth when the battery is getting low.

Some would say more like “Dopey” Mike. :emoticon 0140 rofl:
Sadly for all concerned the two sides are still far apart.

Lee: With the POSTAL strike going on and you going on vacation it doesn’t make much sense for me to send you a Christmas card! It would be Easter by the time you ever got it. :D

Stay warm folks. Nite for now!

Good morning!
A darned cold start to this Thursday at 22F feeling like 7F with the stiff breeze.
Does that mean I’m getting an Easter card Kathie?
I forgot to mention that we were out for breakfast the other morning. I ordered Eggs Benedict. Much to my surprise it was served on a highly polished silver plate! I said to the server that seemed pretty fancy! She replied ”That’s because it’s Christmas time and there’s no plate like chrome for the hollandaise.”
And that semi true story is your morning pun.
Back to check up on you all later.
Have a super Thursday.

Good Thursday morning, Bunnies!

You "learned" me something Lee. I'd never heard of a microwave that plays a tune at the end of its' cycle instead of just beeping. I'm beginning to think that your Canadian postal union has WAY too many idiots in it.

My goodness K2, you're starting to sound like me around the holidays.......A Scrooge and a Curmudgeon.

Mike; You too "learned" me something. A hearing aid that plays music to let you know the battery is weak.

KC; PLEASE don't tell me that your new microwave plays songs while it heats up your food. :)

Good morning! It's amazing how fast the day seems to go when you don't get out of bed until after 8 a.m.! Ginger & I were snug & cozy this morning and just decided to stay put for a while, it was Wonderful!!
Dave, no music from my microwave, I've never heard of one that played music until now.

Kathie, I don't blame you for not mailing cards, the price of stamps is just outrageous & I found out the other day that apparently UPS sells postage stamps as well, but at a marked up price, $18 for a sheet of 20 Christmas stamps, No thank you!

Lee, thanks for the morning chuckle that was a cute one! It's a shame that both unions & business owners can't stop being greedy & stubborn.

Mike, did you know ahead of time your hearing aids were going to play music for a low battery or was it a surprise, I can see kind of freaking out if I started hearing unexpected music in my ears.

Starting my holiday baking, yesterday I made a batch of my frosty hermit cookies, which is a spice cookie with nuts & raisins with a thin glaze. I don't know what I did wrong but they didn't seem to have much flavor to the ones I "tested". Hopefully they will get better with age
I have a batch of pumpkin bread & muffins in the oven now, it's smelling really good I'm ready for a 2nd cup of coffee & a treat.
Have a lovely day all & be careful driving between snow, ice & distracted drivers it's a jungle out there

These days I need to look at a calendar or my cell phone to see what day it is! Hope this helps the rest of you out! Ha Ha.

Karen: I stayed in bed longer this morning.... totally awake.... but not wanting to get out of the warmth. Ever since I put on the Winter Comforter, I tend to want to just stay under the covers longer. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
Good for you starting some holiday baking. I need to do some of that!

I spent way too much time trying to get results of my Mammogram from my Patient Portal Chart. Seems they changed the website and I had to call the office for help. Thank goodness a nice gal walked me through how to get on the newer site. All was GOOD with the report!
Makes me wonder why I have to take up my time and the doctors with an early appt on Friday. Should be a OVER-THE-PHONE appt for sure.

Lee posted: Does that mean I’m getting an Easter card Kathie?
Remind me and I'll try and send you a Bunny Card! Ha Ha
Lee: I give you EXTRA CREDIT for going out in that bitter cold this morning. You guys can't get out of town fast enough to warmer temps. Even 55F -60F would be a relief.

DAVE: The older I get the more I just want Christmas to slip by quietly. Way to commercial for me. Thank goodness our Serbian Orthodox Christmas (Jan 7th) is religious and no gifts are exchanged. Just a lot of going to church and singing! :angel2:

Our Grandson, Eric, will be graduating from college on Saturday morning. He applied and got an scholarship for 2 yrs of Grad school to get his Masters in Communications. Eric was never an "A" student, but shaped up his grades and it's going to save his parents a lot of money. Proud of the guy!

Our choir Christmas Party is this Saturday night too. Busy day for us.

Later gang. STAY WARM. It's 28F here and with that horrible WIND it's even colder.

KAREN: I keep forgetting to ask how your EYES are doing after the YAG treatment??

Made a round loaf of bread. House smells so good. This will go with our Bean Soup for dinner tonight! Hood for an utterly COLD DAY!

Fay and Pattie went out together today, Pattie to the Kidney Dr. for her yearly check up and Fay to another place to get her heart pills. They are now in the kitchen making kiffles. they will make the dough today and bake then tomorrow. My Mother and alll of the Czheckoslavakians (Ihave no idea if that is spelled right.) that I knew of them made them for ever occasion. Fay is keeping up with the tradition in our family. She is Kentuckanese not Czeck.
Kc, I was told the hearing aid would play Beethoven when the battery is low. I can go 10-15 minutes before I need to put new batteries in.
Dave, I'm glad I have larned you something.
Lee, you better watch out, Frump is jokeing about bringing Canada to the US. That may be a warning of him planning on trying to do it. It is 23F here now. I enjoyed your story.

Stamps here are $1.15 for a standard domestic card or letter. $1.40 to go to The US.
I’m glad you enjoyed the little play on words. I got a chuckle out of it.
The microwave tune only plays at the end of the cycle. It’d drive me crazier if played tunes while it was heating or cooking!!
How was that second cup of coffee this morning Karen? What freshly baked treat did you enjoy. Simply a quality control taste I’m sure. ;)
I wasn’t out to experience the low temps Kathie. Since the colder weather Ava and I don’t go out early. We even think twice about The Navy Yard on cold windy days and opt for a quick trip around the block. Your bread looks great and would have gone well with our veggie chilli. It is a jungle out there and there’s a song to prove it!

I had to look up “kiffles” Mike. I do believe I have seen them in some bakeries but I bet the homemade ones are way better.
See you in the morning!

Lee, the 2nd cup of coffee was wonderful this morning, as were the 2 pumpkin muffins I had with it, one with raisins, one without, had to do a taste test of both to see which was best, it was a tie. :)

Mike, I've heard of Kiffles but will need to do a google search to remember what they are. Nice you were forewarned your hearing aides would play music

Did the google search, we used to make those at Publix when I worked there, we called them something else but I can't remember what, we made them with raspberry or apricot filling.

: Karen: Thanks for the heads up on your upcoming YAG procedure.

Mike: I make “Kifle” filled with Apricot! I cook down the Apricots to make a nice thick jam. Good for Pattie and Fay continuing to make these gems! Hope they give you plenty of samples!

With WIND CHILL we’re down to 15F and going down to 10F later.

I called the Oncology office and was able to get a PHONE APPT for tomorrow ( Fri ). Whew! That saves me a lot of time, gas and getting up early to get there. So glad I took the chance to call them. Pays to take a chance!!

Watching the Detroit Lions st home playing
Green Bay! So far we are winning in the 2nd qtr.

Lee, good to know you and Ava are staying away from Navy Park. Just too cold. Next week it’s suppose to warm up.

Karen….hit any samples of your baking?? :emoticon 0115 inlove:

Thanks to Fuzzbutt, I'm up. Come to think of it, she's the reason I'm up early almost every morning. So once she goes potty and gets her treat, we're going back to bed. Feeling very tired.

Nothing to talk about except one thing. What the heck is that pink thing running across the top of the picture of the bread?

Good EARLY morning Wrabbits!

Dave: Your temp show 15F right now. And Cleveland, Ohio is at
-2 degrees Wind Chill factor. Way to early for these freezing temps.
We’re at 20 degrees now.

Next Monday it will be 50F! Good day to get any running around done!

Dave: The RED thing is a heat guard on the oven rack. Comes in handy if you happen to touch the rack when checking on things in the oven.

Hope everyone got a good nights sleep last night.
What a MESS in Northern California where they had the 7.5 earthquake. Store shelves with bottles, etc all on the floors.

Amazing that the Notre Dame cathedral is restored already and open to the public. Looks fantastic.
Waiting for the Dr’s phone call. Grateful I don’t have to go out in the cold.

Garbage truck outside now picking up trash. Brrr cold job for sure.

Watching the Morning Show.
Time to get a hot cup of coffee and a Biscotti to dip into it.

Enjoy your day and stay warm.

That goes for you too Karen. I saw you were in the 50’s. Time to have a sweatshirt on until it warms up!

Mike: How many of those Kifle do you plan on eating today?

Later gang.

Good morning!
So, Karen you had a tie between muffins with raisins and no raisins. Maybe you need to sample a couple this morning to see how they are the next day. ;)
A nice bonus on a cold morning to not have to bundle up for a trek to the doctor’s office for your results Kathie. The fact that doc is OK with a phone visit suggests that everything is A-OK. I feel sorry for all of the workers who have to be out in weather that is very cold or on the other end very hot. Thanks for the heat guard explanation. Congrats to Eric on his scholarship by the way.
I hope you got back to sleep Dave. I think you and I will always be, for the most part, in the “up early club”.
The postal strike drags on. Now starting week 4 with no end in sight. I really do think that the union has to take a long hard look at their position. With the exception of small businesses who depend on orders or holiday flyers at Christmas nobody seems to care that there is no mail.
Enjoy your day my friends.

All went fine with Phone Dr’s visit.
She did tell me that the STATE OF MICHIGAN has a new ruling that starting in 2025 there will be NO MORE “Phone Office Visits”. Well, that stinks. For simple test results it just makes more sense to do it over the phone if all is good news! I’ll be looking into this ruling further for mor explainations.

Okay, time to preheat the oven and make some goodies to save for Christmas Eve family time.
Still freezing cold up here. Brrr!
